convenient, clean and comfy

hotel staff were helpful and very nice; room was clean and comfy, and good for the price. Very close to the convention center ... and a short drive to my conference at the Shingle Creek resort, and there was a shuttle from the hotel next door. Very good price, and there are food options walkable (IHOP, McD's, grocery store, and more expensive options). Only downside was that you can hear people walking by outside, so if they are chatting or making noise, it can be heard pretty easily. Exterior hallways, but good locks on the door and there was security.

there is a grocery store just down the road for last minute things you forgot or midnite snacks- cheaper than the hotel! No breakfast at this hotel, so grab some cereal from the grocery and make oatmeal in the morning- cheaper than IHOP.

The..not so good..the bad and the ugly
Shocked mom Oct 26, 2009
When we first walked in the room, we were hit with the smell of musty, humidity. We thought it was due to a hot, humid, ... Florida evening. Being that we got in late with our 9-month old, we went straight to bed. In the morning, we were horrified to find mold all throughout the ceiling of the bathroom. When I complained to the staff, they said they would be sure to spray it with bleach even after I tried to explain that the mold looks like it's not just on the surface, it's growing from the ceiling tile. So, take your own chances when staying there in case you want to develop a respiratory infection.

If you are attending a convetion the days inn is about a 10 minute walk ok in the winter , a little warm in the summer..

place for the frugal local
A Local Oct 21, 2009
The front desk staff were wonderfully helpful and efficient. My daughter requested extra shampoo and a toothbrush and it was ... brought to the room in less than 10 minutes. I was quite impressed. The room was clean and we had all the necessary amenities. Since we were just staying the night to refresh after visiting one attraction, it was quite affordable and gave us the respite we needed to take on the next theme park the following day. I would gladly stay at this location again as it was incredibly convenient to dining, shopping and the theme parks.

horrible experience!!!!
upset prego Oct 18, 2009
This was the most horrific hotel I have stayed in!! We spent all day at one of the parks until check in around 4:30pm. Was ... very tired and sore from the days festivities. When walking into the hotel room all you could smell was must and mildew. I was ready to get a new room then but my boyfriend talked me out of it. Both my 6yr old and I have problems with breathing and smell so I was concerned but thankfully when the air was turned down the smell dissapated or we were just used to it by that time. Upon going into the bathroom I realized that the bathtub plug was busted therefore my son could not take a bath. Luckily he is at that age where he is able to take a shower. The bathroom sink didn't work correctly. Also there were soiled washcloths from the previous tenant left in the bathroom. Upon further investigation through the night I also spotted that one of the beds had mildew stains on the bottom of the comforter! When finally laying down to sleep the beds were hard as rock and it probably would have been more comfortable to sleep on the floor, but I am pregnant so that was out of the question. The only good thing about the hotel was the hot water and water pressure in the shower! Will probably never ever stay at a Days Inn again....

I was at a conference in the Orange County Convention Center. The hotel was within walking distance and also within short ... cab distance of some great restaurants. It would have been nice had they served a continental breakfast. The motel was just your basic motel, nothing fancy. I'd recommend it again if you're attending a conference and can't afford the Hilton.

Hotel was not bad. Would have gotten a higher ranking if it wasn't for one of the rooms. For the price you pay you can't beat ... it. Just don't expect The Ritz. We stayed one night with 2 rooms. One of the rooms was fine. The other room had a musty/old smell to it. We thought we would ventilate it and hope it would go away when we come back. We arrived back at 2am and the room still smelled. We were soo tired that we didn't even bother switching rooms. Other then that the hotel was fine. It was in a great area. Drive to Universal was less then 10 minutes. There are nice restuarants near by. There is a 24hr IHOP downstairs in lobby. They even use Dove soap in the shower.

The first room assigned to use was not fully cleaned; meaning someone's leftover McDonald's was there & earings, and there ... was a frog inside the room. However, we advised the staff and were promptly moved to a respectable room. The only think I didn't care for was the size of the room, but heck, for the price, can't beat it!!

Thunder's mother! Jul 18, 2009
We were there for Sea World. VERY close to this and this was our main goal. The TV remote wasn't even the right one for the ... TV and they didn't have any for our "kind" of TV. IHOP was extremely busy every time we went to eat, gave up after two LONG waits. Many resturants close by though. Staff was friendly but didn't speak much English. Overall, it wasn't too bad. Also, there is only ONE shuttle run to and ONE back from Sea World, good only if you want to be there from 9:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M.

If visiting parks is the goal/purpose, then staying at this hotel is to come to the room to sleep only. That job is done ... well. Very good location. Average room size and quality. A bit noisy even after 10:30 PM. Housekeeping closes after 5 in the afternoon !! Food options are plentiful around with 24h IHOP on the property. Overall an average hotel.

I would drive instead of taking the free bus service to the theme parks. They were very crowded and gives you less flexibility. If someone in your party gets hot or it is pouring down rain, you either have to call a cab or wait for the bus to pick you up.
