This place isn't the worst I've ever seen, but it could be better. The iron didn't work. The ironing board was broke. The ... wi-fi didn't work. I had to go find another hot spot. The continental breakfast last about 30 min. and only consisted of cereal and stale beagals. For the money you can't really complain since it was the cheapest place I could find south of the river.

Cheap, crummy motel
This place is old, needs repairs, had dirt in the corners and was dark (light bulbs hadn't been replaced!). There was light ... coming in around the door which did not close well. The staff was dismissive and there is NO way I would eat their "free continental breakfast". Yuk! The best thing I can say is it was cheap! Even then I got less than I paid for. I asked for a non-smoking room and got a smoking room & they said they couldn't change it. Avoid at all costs!

Not special and dirty...
Cobwebs above the drapes, bathtub was dirty, bedspreads filthy, doorjams broke... This is an old hotel with a little new ... paint with a fridge in every room, that was the only upside...

Not great
Although the manager and his wife were very friendly and tried to fix our problems, it was just not enough. First, I booked ... 2 rooms, one for myself and my fiancee and another for my mom. When we checked in, they were surprised that we booked two rooms because somehow their system made it look like we only needed one. Our first room had to be the worst in the entire hotel. The toilet ran constantly, even after taking the lid off the tank and pushing down the plunger. The air conditioner was loud but acceptable until it rattled so loud that it woke me up at 2:30am and wouldn't stop, so I had to turn it off. However, the main reason we asked to switch to another room was because there was pee on the toilet seat before either of us had used it. That brings us to the trouble that switching rooms caused. I requested the room next to my mom's and the manager switched us out the next day after the new room was cleaned and gave us new keys. He, his wife and the other desk clerk were all aware that that rooms was now occupied by us. We were going to visit my brother and I didn't bother to move all of our luggage into the new room. I did however bring in one shopping bag from an early stop. Well, when we got back after a day out, there was a light on in the room that we did not leave on, our door keys didn't work and the bag I left on the bed is sitting outside by the door. They had given the room they had given to us to someone else! I don't know how this happened because every staff member was aware of our switch. So they apologized and gave us another room. The new room was fine except for the fact that this room also had pee and this time hair on the toilet seat, but we sucked it up and stayed put. The next morning while we were still sleeping, one of the hotel staff knocked on and opened the door and was surprised to find it occupied. For reasons that I will never understand, she opened the door again two minutes later! So I was not terribly happy with this hotel but I will say that the manager and his wife were quite friendly and tried to be accomodating, and the location was quite good (kind of loud on the street side of the building, but the backside was pretty quiet). There was easy access to both the downtown areas and the newer developments, as well as the Univeristy. I'll sum it up like this: it was the cheapest hotel in the area for a reason, so if you are not picky or you plan to spend very little time there, knock yourself out. I wasn't expecting a lot, but this place left me disappointed. My mom, however, felt her room was just fine.

The definition of disrepair
The Days Inn of Lawrence LS was conveniently located near the turnpike and affordable. However, it was not much of a value ... because the facility itself was in dismal repair. The walls were badly scuffed; the large areas of the bathtub were flaking off, the bottom half of the bathroom door was delaminated on both sides. Also, the swing latch on the inside of the front door was broken off, so I used the chain latch instead. When I accidentally opened the door without unlatching it, it instantly pulled out of the door jamb. We don't plan to return.

not so much
In the room the TV is broken, the shower had some sort of black mold on it, there were hairs all over the bathroom, and the ... towels were dirty. There also was no clock in the room. One good yet bad at the same time thing about this motel is it's location and the most popular street in Lawrence, makes it good to get where youre going, but it's loud all the time and you have to wait forever to turn onto that steet.
