I was looking for a conveniently located hotel in Lakewood, and when the Days Inn came up in my search, it was my first ... selection. I've stayed here three times total over the last 10 years (I have friends that live three doors down from the hotel, so it's a usual choice for me), and not much changes with each trip. What you should know: parking is very limited here. If you're planning on staying out until the wee hours, you may want to consider leaving your car and calling a taxi to ensure a parking space. It is not recommended to park on the street in this area, though you can - but beware of the fire hydrants! They're everywhere, and you WILL get ticketed if you park too close to one. If you are faced with a parking issue, speak with the front desk attendant on duty, and they may be able to help you. In my case, the only parking I could find was street parking in a dimly lit side street, and I was being harassed by a drunk and disorderly individual. The front desk attendant had me park in an area that wasn't technically reserved for parking, but was safe and within view. Other than that - the rooms are neat, the bed is decently comfortable. The only issues I had with this particular hotel were that (1) my bedspread was covered in cigarette holes (in a non-smoking room), (2) one of the lightbulbs in the bedstand lamp was out (easily replaced), (3) while the free wi-fi was appreciated, the signal was very weak, and (4) being pestered by housekeeping at 10:30 when I had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door on the day of checkout (which I suppose was to be expected, but I still found it annoying).

we stayed at the Days inn in Lakewood,
Geo Oct 1, 2009
after the first night we found bed bugs on the covers, we both had been bitten over night. We were given another room, it ... was't any cleaner and you could here any noise in the other rooms or hall way but we did'nt find any bugs in this one.we were there for an appointment at the Cleveland Cleinic, . This was a nightmare to cope with being ill and change rooms from the second floor to the first with only stairs and a landing at the stairway door that you can't stand on AND open the door. there were no ice machines and only 1 pop machine with a couple of choices. Thank God there was a CVS around the corner. I would advise shutting down this hotel. The smoke detector was missing in the first room with the wires hanging down. We are now at a wonderfull best Western. George Powell

[...] was wonderful! He assisted us in every way. Any questions that I had, he had the answers. It was a great experience. We ... went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Lake Erie, Hard Rock Cafe', and Sweetie's Candy. I would only have one suggestion, that the front desk be able to sell tickets to local attractions at a discounted price.

smoke smelling non-smoking room
buisnesstraveler Apr 19, 2009
Staff at hotel was nice. I received a non-smoking room that smelled like a smoker stayed there. After trying to air out the ... room with little success, the staff provided me with a "tobacco smell de-odorizer that smelled like alcohol cleaning solution. When I woke up at 3am to an overpowering smoke smell (and being congested), I could not fall asleep again due to the strength of the smell. I left at 445am as I couldn't get to sleep again (it would be easier sleeping in my car) and I wanted to air out my clothes before a job interview. Nonetheless, my clothes, luggage, shoes need to be cleaned to remove the smell. If you don't mind smelling like cigarettes, then this hotel would otherwise be satisfactory.

Easily accessible to almost everything we wanted to see and do in Cleveland. Adequate continental breakfast. Clean facility. ... There were groups of teenagers (with chaperones) staying at the same time we were, but we were not disturbed at all, the hotel was very quiet. Would stay there again!

It was very comfortable for me and my fiance especially since as soon as I got there I got ill. They were very nice to call ... 911 for me and check on me when I came back from the E.R. The doors are very noisy so I wouldn't bring a small child. It is also a little dim in there.

Days Inn Lakewood
Nancy Aug 3, 2007
The room smelled very strongly of deodorizer. The halls were dingy and did not feel clean There was not enough parking ... for guests due to a semi trailer parked in the lot across six spaces. The pull ot sofa was inoperable, due to room layout it was impossible to pull it out because of the air conditioning unit. The staff acted inconvenience by my request for an iron.

Great Location and Very Clean
Mehgan May 20, 2007
The staff is very friendly and the location of the Days Inn is great. We loved the fact that we were out of the immediate ... Downtown Cleveland area. Also, the price is great. The neighborhood is full of beautiful historic homes and even though the Days Inn is located on a main street, it was very quiet and peaceful in the room. A great place for a good nights sleep.

The best thing to do is take a walk down Detroit in Downtown Lakewood. There are many small antique stores, a few great restaurants and Rocky River Reservation is just a short drive away. Also nearby is Nature's Bin organic grocery store.
