Blood stains on the bedspread, wine on the rug, spattered brown substance on the wall. Fights going on outside, airplanes ... flying overhead, and when I did look out my window I saw three men selling crack in small bags and exchanging money. As a single female traveler I am usually cautious about where I go but this was a rare instance where I didn't feel like I could leave my room. I've been taking solo road trips for a long time now and NEVER given a bad review but this is the WORST place I have ever stayed. Spend five extra dollars and go somewhere else for your own safety.

We were in Charleston for the Harborfest. The rooms were very clean, we had plenty of towels, there were even blankets on ... the bed. The air conditioning worked well. If planes bother you it is on the glide path, but the rooms were so soundproof we could not hear the grandchildren in the adjoining room. The free breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly.

Too bugie for me.
Bugged Jun 3, 2009
First room had two bugs in bathroom and then flying bug around the bed. Got moved to a second room but it had small mites or ... spiders in bathroom tub and on the sink area. My wife made me sleep with the lights on to discourage the bugs for all four nights. However a roach still came out which I killed but unnerved her. It is close to Charleston and had a good free breakfast. But it was noisy from planes practically flying into your room and buggie. We would not stay there again. I'll spend the money for piece of mind.

Horrible. Would not recommend.
Joe the Sailor Apr 7, 2009
My wife and I are members of the armed services, and rarely get to see one another. When I found out that she would be in ... Charleston for a weekend, I made short-notice reservations to the Days Inn, hoping to save some money. I live 9 hours from Charleston, and started the drive as soon as I could but did not get in to Charleston until about 3AM. About half-way through the drive, I got a call from my wife telling me that the receptionist was extremely rude to her, told her that she couldn't check into the room until I arrived (because it was Orbitz's policy), and was told to leave the lobby area. If it wasn't for Orbitz's 24-hr customer service, my wife would have been waiting outside in an area that's not-so-great until 3 am. Unacceptable. When we finally got into the room, the bathroom had mold growing on the shower floor and the toilet seat had water (we hoped) all over it. That night we tried to get rest but couldn't because of the extremely loud roar of jet engines as planes flew into/out of Charleston Airport. I am usually a heavy sleeper, but the sound literally shook the bed. On the day we were supposed to check out (a Sunday), we were awaken by the banging on our door from a member of the hotel staff at 9:30 in the morning asking if we were leaving. I told them, yes, we would be checking out that day and then asked them what time check-out was (which I already knew, but wanted to make sure she knew), she responded "noon." The member of the hotel staff then stood outside of the room complaining about how we weren't leaving until noon, obviously loud enough so we could hear. We eventually grabbed our stuff and just left. The level of mis-management that we were subject to at this hotel should be illegal. Not only will I never stay at this hotel, but I will forever be weary of staying at a Days Inn. The only benefit we found from staying at this hotel was the proximity to the highway and to the local outlet mall/restaurants, but you would be much better off staying at any of the other hotels around the area.

The Tanger Outlet mall is literally right around the corner, but there are many other hotels that are closer (and probably a lot better!). There are also many restaurants to choose from around the mall.

Great for Budget
Julia Jul 27, 2008
This hotel is a great! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was outstanding. The rooms ... were spacious and the location was convenient to all the major highways. The only things I would change are that I wish the bathrooms were cleaner and better maintained and that our neighbors had been more courteous, quiet, respectful than they were. All in all, we had a great trip and got a great value for our money.

Could have been better
Debra Jul 2, 2008
The Days Inn North Charlston was not quite what I expected, The room had a gap below the door about three inches that let in ... light. This is not condusive for falling asleep. The fixtures inthe bathroom seriously needed repair. Water poured out of the tub spout while trying to take a shower and this made the tub fill up while showering that would not gully turn on. The staff in the office was very nice and helpful with directions, Housekeeping plied up their trash bags at the end of the sidewalk so when you went to your car you walked by a hugh pile of trash. Not waht you want to see. I have stayed in nicer places for less money.

Great Value
Christy Jun 15, 2008
Can't beat the price of this older hotel with new looking rooms. It looked like our room was remodeled with a designer ... touch. The walkway and some areas were older, but the room and stay were great. The free breakfast the next morning was great with the fresh waffles and juice, etc. Pets are allowed which was great so we could bring our chihuahua. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend this hotel if you are looking for value.

LOw price, Cheap Hotel
Charles Jun 11, 2008
My experience with this hotel was not good. The room we had had the night latch missing and was not repaired after the ... housekeeping ataff and the front desk was notified of the problem. The housekeeper walked in on us unannounced because the night latch would not work. The stairs to go down to the pool had the leading edge of the step missing and caused you to be pitched forward when traveling down them (a definite safety hazard). The tub valves were hard to operate. I will not return to this facility.

Good Budget Option
Sam Jan 1, 2008
This hotel is a good budget option within easy reach of downtown attractions if you have a car. It is right next to a ... convenient freeway on-ramp. The area has several budget dining options, such as the waffle house but there is not much else to do here except rest and sleep. The room was clean but the staff was not very helpful with information or directions. The room came with a micro and fridge which was great for eating in with family. The room was very large and comfortable and the bathroom clean and well-maintained. Ideal for a small family. The hotel would do well to have at least some very clearly printed and undestood simple maps of the area and directions to downtown and local sights. The tangle of freeways around the area is distracting, esp. at night. We got lost a few times because we were so unfaimilar with the area and had no simple directions to/from the hotel. Having once become familiar with the area, we would definatley stay here again.

Deserves condemnation and demolition
Robert May 27, 2007
We found: -An overall dirty and dingy room with mismatched furniture in need of repair (e.g. missing drawer knobs). ... -No alarm clock in room. When we called the front desk, the clerk said that she didn't thing that any clock was available. -No hangers for clothing in the room. -An uncomfortable bed. The clerk on duty said that there were no other rooms. We bought a cheap alarm clock that would wake us reliably for our morning flight and tried to make the best of an expensive night's sleep. We also received a telephone call from the front desk at 12:15 AM, informing us that we had visitors. It was a wrong number. The next morning we checked out with circles under our eyes. The clerk on duty dutifully wrote down our complaints in a copy book. We left with relief that we would never return. Last thought: All of the staff that we spoke to or asked for help were sitting behind the desk; at no point did they stand up. They did nothing to indicate that they were ready, willing or able to do anything for the customer. The only constructive suggestion we care to make is that the facility should be razed, rebuilt and staffed with employees who are concerned with giving guests their money's worth.
