Great location & staff, BYOPillows
Convention Centre Money Saver Nov 9, 2009
The staff was great. The location couldn't be beat. The pillows left much to be desired. Yes, the room was small, but that ... didn't bother us as much as the lack of sleep we got.

If you have to be at the Convention Centre, stay here and save a TON. It's a quick walk to the TTC(subway), and then you don't have to be outside until you get back to the hotel. We saved almost 50% versus staying close to the Centre.

Rip off!
Business Traveler Oct 30, 2009
I got charged over 140 dollars for a few phone calls to my company in New York (including a 8.86 dollars charge for a 15s ... voice mail left on a US cell phone....). This is a classic case of rip off where the client is considered as a pigeon! I never had to pay such a price for calls between Toronto and NY.

The rooms are small with not very clean bathrooms. The loction was very good. Close to subway and food. Parking was hard ... to find it is under the hotel around back. Costs 22 per day and was billed 91 for 2 days. Have to call find out why it was billed that way.

Front desk talking to each other or on the phone. Make me wait for no reason. At check in and also at check out. Room was ... so small you could barely move. Windows didn't seal the noise out and you will imagine in a big city a lot of noises. All the noise in the next room wake me up like it was in our room.

We spent most of our time away from the hotel as we were basically in the downtown area for 2 ball gamesand some ... sightseeing.Really didn't have time to check out the pool, etc.The location was terrific but the room could use a little upgrading , especially the washroom.Overall we enjoyed our stay and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Although we loved the walking , I'd suggest taking the subway if you're heading way down to Union Station area , example , Roger's Center . Then walk your way back to check out the shops when it's a hot day.

You Get What You Pay For
Schmoopie Aug 21, 2009
Well, I ran into more than a few guests at this hotel that share my opinion. The hotel is wonderfully located in downtown ... Toronto. Other than that, the hotel was slightly below average...but I went with the cheapest hotel in the area and got what I paid for. Parking was terrible. When we arrived, there was no room left in the hotel's parking garage, but "there's plenty of other garages" I was told. That's true, but not 24-hour parking! I had to talk a parking lot attendant, a block away, into letting me pay for keeping my car there over night. Then I spent the next day stalking the Hotel's parking garage like a vulture, waiting for someone to leave so I could swoop in and grab a spot @ $22 per night(not what you want to be doing when on vacation). The rooms are on the smaller side and the TV miniscule (not a flat screen either). The shower was in disrepair and we didn't always have hot water. Also, the elevators are inadequate in terms of quantity. I can't count how many times we had to wait before a non-full elevator arrived at our floor in order to get to the lobby. I left wishing I had spent the extra $20 a night to go somewhere else. Lesson learned...don't be cheap.

Lou Aug 17, 2009
Parking is a pain in the rear end. The hotel has a garage and it was always full. I had to use the public garage and you have ... to prepay and it only lets you do 14 hours at a time... so I needed to make a few trips to the car to keep it from being tagged and towed.
