Last resort hotel

Not one staff person spoke to me except the check-in clerk and she coded my room key improperly. So I was locked out of my ... room on the 2nd day of my stay. The place smelled like old cigarettes and urine. It was the last place available and not too, too far from downtown Cambridge. I would stay again ONLY as a last resort. It is a rather weird location with absolutely NO scenic views in any direction. It's basically one-half step above a "dump."

Horrible
Julie Aug 22, 2008
I was traveling for business and was gravely disappointed. There were 3 fitness machines from 1970, a smokey aroma filled ... entire hotel, rude staff, and overall a sketchy location. I felt unsafe and switched hotels after one night.

PERFECT location for visiting students
Joyce Jun 10, 2008
Too bad I found the Days Hotel Boston post-graduation. Vast numbers of students from Harvard, Boston University and Boston ... College live in the Allston-Brighton area. For 4 years I've found the accommodations in the area to be overpriced and unsatisfactory. Their parking options were even worse, especially during Red Sox home games (which always seemed to coincide with school special events). While the rooms were far from perfect, the convenience couldn't be better: free & plentiful parking, walk to Harvard Square, shopping center across street from back entrance and nice park along the Charles across the street (a good respite from the crowds one must deal with at school events). An easy taxi or T ride to any of the above mentioned campuses! Cons: 1 - I wouldn't recommend walking in the area at night, thought at daytime, its perfectly safe and even pretty. 2 - While the outdoor pool deck is an added plus on sunny, hot days, the pool itself wasn't clean enough for my taste. 3 - Room was a tad musty.

Good place to sleep
Rick Nov 23, 2007
The hotal was well kept and the staff friendly. The room was fine and served it purpose which was to provide a place to ... sleep.I found the Chinese only restaurant restricting as I was looking for a breakfast place. My one complaint was the bathroom. There was black stuff coming out around the shower enclosure that was pretty nasty. I did not complain but washed what I could.

The Days Hotel Boston is situated on the Charles River, which makes it easily accessible to Cambridge, but not downtown ... Boston. Housekeeping was first-rate. Public areas in need of renovation. Fitness room needs newer and more serious equipment. All in all a bargain.

A Comfortable Room
An Aug 25, 2007
The room at Days Hotel is very comfortable. The room has two beds and is a lot larger than I expected. It has a good view ... look to Boston street. The hotel is close to places that I want to visit, which is very convenience for me. The maids is very friendly and did good job of cleaning up my room every morning. Two things that I would recommend the hotel to add to the room is a small refrigerator and a microwave, because these things will bring more comfortable to the customers if the customers have place to keep their drink cold and have something to warm their food to eat at night.

Good Deal
Lorraine Jul 16, 2007
The Days Hotel in Brighton, MA. is in a good location to travel to Boston. The bed and room was comfortable and staff nice. ... A good chinese food restuarant off from the lobby. The hair dryer tends to overheat and cut off, not good for thick long hair. It is close to bus transportation (get to Harvard Square and downtown Boston). You can walk to Harvard and local stores. It is difficult to drive to by car, get good directions before you come. Overall, it was good for the price.

Unreasonably expensive for that type of room and service
Agnes Jun 17, 2007
Room was clean and pretty comfortable but nothing special, staff is really helpful. But their restaurant is closing at 9:30 ... even on Saturday night. So, they had a menu from closest pizza place. That really helped. We came all the way from NY and were starving by the time we got there. Pool is terribly dirty.
