Excellent Location for the Price

wytman Oct 26, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We stayed at Cypress Pointe for 8 nights. Overall we were pleased with it. As expected, they initially push a bit for the ... time share/vacation club presentation - but it's fairly easy to avoid further dialog about it after checking in - we never heard boo about it thereafter. The room was relatively clean. The shower floor looked a bit aged, perhaps slightly dirty - hard to tell. Probably needed a bleaching. It might have been a bit of mildew, but we are not the type that complains about such things either. As another reviewer wrote on another review site, they could do with a steam cleaning of the carpets. The decorating is so 80's Florida, but they are slowly re-modelling the rooms - but it looks like it will be a long time before they finish the process. Frankly it's about what I expected for basically a condo rental - and at this price, it was perfect. The two bedroom unit we stayed in was very spacious. The kitchen came in real handy, and the fridge was excellent in size to hold our groceries. The pool, which we went too a couple times, was nice - although heated inconsistently. It was extremely cold one day, and then felt like 85 degrees the next. The TV, while a 52" "HDTV," was not showing any hi-def content. Even the DVD player is hooked up via composite video (the little single yellow RCA plug type) - so it wasn't the best picture. They do not have HD cable/satellite service either - at least to our room. My father in law and I wanted to watch a Bears-Falcons game on Sunday night - so it would have been nice if the "HDTV" was as advertised. Also the internet is a bit slow - and NOT wifi. It uses the electrical wiring as a carrier to send an ethernet signal. You have to rent a "modem" separately which just demuxes the ethernet content - and then hook up to a standard cat5e ethernet cable. Cost was $20 for the whole stay - not to bad for the utility of internet access. It worked fine for us - but was ocassionally slow. You can buy such systems to "wire" your home too - same idea, and similar results to this. But being wired, when it was good, it was way better than wifi - and always more secure too.

Great Price, Great Location!

Stumbled upon this great hotel while planning a quick weekend trip to Disney for Food and Wine Festival. Great Location! ... Conviently located near Disney/Universal/Sea World. Great rate for families or groups. Nice layout of 2BR/2BA in Phase II. Only complaint was they needed to fix a few minor cosmetic issues in the unit I stayed in...for such a nice resort then to have pipes showing in the bathroom just kind of killed it for me. Make sure you don't check out late though - $225 late check out fee that I think was a bit excessive. We made sure we were up and ready to leave an hour early just to avoid this hefty fee.

THIS IS A VERY NICE PLACE. MY FIANCE AND OUR SON STAYED HERE DURING OUR TRIP TO DISNEY AND IT WAS MORE THAN EXPECTED. THE ... ONLY THING I DONT LIKE IS THE DEPOSIT TAKES A FEW DAYS TO CLEAR!!!! OTHER THAN THAT AND AN UNCOMFORTABLE BED, OUR STAY WAS AMAZING. THE MASTER BATH HAS A GREAT JACUZZU TUB AND A HUGE SHOWER! ALTHOUGH THE BED IS A KING, ITS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. THE ROOM WAS TO BIG FOR WHAT WE NEEDED BUT FOR THE PRICE, I CANT COMPLAIN. WE HAD A FULL KITCHEN AND A WASHER/DRYER, ALSO A DISHWASHER. ALL THESE MAKE A LONG STAY BETTER. ROOM HAD A NICE SCREENED PORCH. YOU ARENT ALLOWED TO TURN A/C DOWN LOWER THAN 70 DEGREES. THIS IS GREAT FOR A BIGGER FAMILY BUT MY SON EITHER SLEPT WITH US OR IN HIS PACK N PLAY, SO THE EXTRA 2 BEDS WERENT NEEDED. WE JUST PICKED THIS ROOM DUE TO KING BED AND MASTER BATH! IF YOU CAN GET A GOOD DEAL ON THIS ROOM, GO FOR IT. ONE MORE THING, VOLCANO POOL WAS ICE COLD AND THAT WAS A PROBLEM

A Superb place to stay!

Would recommend to a friend!

I really love the set up of the room, with the kitchen and the utensils provided for you to prepare your meals. The place was ... really clean and that's a big plus for me! The only thing missing was on arrival at the airport there was no free shuttle to take you to the hotel. I believed cheaptickets told me there would be one provided. I had to pay $55 for taxi service which was very steep for me. Also the hotel did not provide shuttle service to the parks. The trip was to attend Disney parks but the taxi fare was so high we only went to the 'Wet & Wild Water park'. The next time I'm definitely renting a car since I'm now familiar with the area. Apart from that I had an enjoyable stay at the hotel and will definitely stay there again. I went with my 13 y.o.daughter, my 15 y.o. niece and 14 y.o.nephew. They enjoyed it immensely! They especially loved the pool and the basketball court.

Overall the two bedroom, 2 bath villa style accommodations were very nice. However we were unaware that room service was not ... included. When we asked for more towels we were told that we needed to use the washer and dryer included in the room to wash our own towels. We also had to request for refill of toilet paper for both bathrooms for our 7 day stay, there was none in the stock closet. The beds were very uncomfortable in both rooms.

Resort was a condo rental. Nice and clean, big and convenient location. Lots of closeby restaraunts. Recomnmend booking ... directly with Cypress Point if you're traveling with more than 5-6. If you book a vacation package orbitz makes you break up your group into two smaller groups and you can get hosed on booking the rooms (forced to book separate 2 bedrm and 1 bedrm units instead of a single 3 bedrm unit).

This is one of the best resort that I've stayed, great location, very quiet, nice staff, spacious room, room even had a ... washer and drier with detergent. Everything was just perfect. All the theme parks were close by, most important there were many restaurants around. If if go back to Orlando again, I am definitely staying at this resort. One thing which i didn't like is the resort that have enough security, especially at night time. The reason im concern is the main lobby is in the other building and some of the resort building is on the other side, in order to go to there you have to cross one of the street, and at night time there's no security, the resort could at least put the gate at the door. Regardless the stay was very great and I will go back there.

We stayed at this hotel with my husband and three kids for a soccer tournament. The hotel was very good located, with lots of ... restaurants and attractions around. The suite was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The things we did not like were: the smell at the hallways, the towels were VERY worn down, the blankets were very old and flat, they did not put enough amount of shampoo and soap. You have many Restaurants around this Hotel. It is near by to Disney and Sea World. You are ready to scopping in a Premium ... Outlet in 5 Minutes. Very family friendly and nice Pool areas. The Hotel have a very good bed, a large Bathroom, a akzeptibal Kitchen and a little bit to small livingroom. All what i am missing is the Option for a late check out. The cek out is 10 am and my flight was at 9.30 pm.

Great Amenities

This hotel has great amenities, in and out of the room. The store on-site is great and is not high priced. This hotel is ... close to everything and a great room. The only problems is very thin walls. Next door partied until 5 a.m. in the morning. We called and someone from the hotel came immediately, but they started again right after they left. Other than this unfortunate incident (which the hotel did try to take care of) the room was clean, staff was nice and numerous amenities for kids.

We wanted a place to stay ...

Anthony Andrea Oct 22, 2008

We wanted a place to stay during our visit to Disney. This was close enough for us as we did have a car. Our room/suite was ... very nice but we didn't spend much time there. We did not use any of the other amenities. Another family member also stayed in the same building. No clean towels were provided even though requested. We would stay here again but only if we could get the great rate we did this stay.

Shopping hint, Short Drive

Downtown Disney is no more than 5-6 minutes away (assuming you catch the Florida traffic lights right, which seem to hold for days), as well as numerous discount souvenir shops and your typical chain restaurants (Chevy's, Chili's, Macaroni Grill, etc.)

WHen booking activities online lookup the address information to all the theme parks before booking because they may be too far for shuttle services to go. Its also better to rent a car.

The price of attractions at Disney and other theme parks are quite high...Disney just raised their parking rate to $14.00...along with $85.00 to get in for the day.
