Good location and good service

I purchased ($64 extra per night) the "Deluxe Beachfront with Private Balcony 581 sq.ft" room. I was assigned a beachfront ... room that was 300-400 sq.ft. not 581. When I went to the desk to make sure we were in the correct room they confirmed that I paid for the 581 sq.ft. room but kept telling me I had a beachfront view. I couldn't get them to confirm that I was in the wrong room nor would they give me the 581 sq. ft. room I paid for. Other than they charged me for a room I didn't get this was a very good hotel. The service was excellent and the staff were falling over themselves to help you. Good location. Within walking distance of the town of San Jose. Only a 50 paso charge for a cab (less than $5 USD). Nice town. More like a real Mexican town than Cabo San Lucas. Very nice people in town.

We were meeting with a small group over a five day period during the total 7-day stay. Certainly the most restful and at the ... same time well-served experience we've had. Nearly all meals were buffet-style, but with the staff getting you anything else you wanted. Quality of food and drinks was quite good. Whenever you looked up, there was a staff member ready to serve your needs. Though tips are not required, we felt they were appropriate due to the very high standard of service. Hotel occupancy was low at the beginning of our stay but increased during our week. Management handled it very well. We plan to go back next year. "Entertainment" was not a highlight.

Fast getaway for a couple
couple Aug 3, 2009
The hotel was super quiet, not very ocupied. only 40 rooms out of 350 max ocupancy. NO activities or excitement going on, ... must be because of the economy and the ocupancy, so that was sort of a drag. The staff was great but the room was not as clean as you would expect. The pools were many however also not as clean and the water was more like bath water. Not refreshed with cold water for such a hot and humid type of climate. Also the restruants were not as cool as you would like. Food was very good, but not as much variety as one would like. Almost to much of the same.

Cabo San Lucas experience
Nelle Apr 22, 2009
On thing I don't like is the pool opens late and closes early. Some of the people likes to swim in the evening or early ... morning. They should have 1 indoor pool or shaded pool at least for people who doesn't want to be in the sun. If they have an indoor pool at least some people could still swim later in the afternoon or evening and it wouldn't be so cold. If they have this amenities at least all the people will enjoy all the time. Sometimes outside weather is very windy and cold such that you don't enjoy swimming but if they have an indoor pool, life in there would not be boring.

What a fabulous resort!! The views are breath taking, we could see the pool and ocean from our room. The location was ... perfect. The beach was steps from the hotel, it was quiet, and much less congested than the hotels in Cabo San Lucas. The room very very basic, but very clean, and it had a beautiful bathroom. Many options, and fantastic variety and quality of the food. We hated to come home, and will certainly go back!!

The shopping, nightlife, and restuarants are a 30 minute bus ride to Cabo San Lucas, which only costs $1.50. The cab was $40. Reaelly though, you don't even have to leave the resort, they have various restaurants and nightly entertainment!

Overall it was a good trip. Only bad thing was that we had a late check in so we had to stay in the double room until the ... next day. We were able to move to a king but had to waste half a day trying to get that done. Also, there were no bathtubs (all they had were showers) in the room which was a disappointment as we wanted to relax in the tub.

My review of Crowne Plaza Los Cabos Grand Faro - All Inclusive
Beth Dec 28, 2008
We arrived early and our room was ready for check in. The resort was very clean, well maintained & was right on the sea. We ... were concerned that our partial ocean view room wouldn't have a very good view, but we were happily surprised that we had an awesome view! One down-side is that housekeeping sometimes did not come until very late in the afternoon, so don't expect your room to be made after you return from breakfast, or even lunch. There are several dining options from the buffets to the Italian & Mexican restaurants. We highly recommend the restaurants for dinner. You have to make a reservation, but you can do that for each evening with the concierge on the first day of your trip. The staff was very friendly, but left you alone if you did not want to participate in pool activities or the like. There is a lot to do if you want, or nothing to do if you don't want. (My husband & I just relaxed by the pool, enjoyed the cocktails & an occassional stroll down the beach). If you like activities, right on the beach you could rent wave-runners, get a horseback ride, play beach volleyball,or get a massage. We have been to Cancun, Cozumel & on numerous cruises..this was our first trip to Cabo and had one of our best trips ever!

A dream vacation
Regina Mar 9, 2008
The Crowne Plaza Los Cabos met all our needs and then some. Gorgeous views. Clean amenities. Spacious room. Delicious ... buffets. Friendly staff. They even combed the beach every morning! We had some problems with check in and had to have our rooms keys updated almost daily because they would stop working. Setting these minor road bumps aside, the Crowne Plaza has something for everyone! We enjoyed the quietness San Jose Del Cabo had to offer and the Crowne Plaza was in the perfect location. Yet, we could walk 45 minutes up the beach and meet with friends and take the public bus into Cabo San Lucas to the Marina. We definately plan on returning and encourage everyone to check out this hotel - a lot of value for a 5 star all inclusive!

5th visit to an all inclusive
david Feb 19, 2008
The Crowne Plaza in San Jose del Cabo was a very clean and professional run hotel. Out of the 5 all inclusive hotels that I ... have stayed at in the last five years this place had the best food of the five. The food was not to different from that of american hotels or even restaraunts the menu was great. The only problem with house keeping is i thaught that there was a turn down service, but no service was provided. The beds were firm and great the room was clean and well kept. My biggest complaint about the all inclusive resort was the drinks served. They did not have a great selection and the bar tenders were not always willing to go off menu. The beer choices were minimal, corona and pacifico and that was it. The sushi bar was good and the entertainment was fair. The pools were nice and clean and the restraunts provided excellent service. It was a good hotel i would recomend it.

My review of Crowne Plaza Los Cabos Grand Faro - All Inclusive
Charlie Jan 4, 2008
The hotel staff was terrible. Our safe was broke when we first got there, so we called to have it repaired and they never ... showed up, we call again the next morning and they did not come, the third day we call again and got testy with them, they sent someone that evening, and he said the battery was dead they would fix it in the morning, that never happened, infact it never got fixed. The maid never cleaned our room til 6pm. We found black hair in the coffee cups, and sometimes we got fresh coffee supplies, sometimes we didn't. We asked for extra pillows got towels three days later!! If they couldn't understand you they simply ignored you. The Italian resturant was a joke. We both ordered salad with our dinner, and I got my salad and he got hordervs, so we told them and an HOUR later after I had to ask where our dinner was, they brought me my dinner and him a salad, nothing more!! The food was not very good either. Only one resturant during the day open for breadfast and lunch, which was not that good, and then the dishes were always dirty. The last nite we were there, some one kept trying to open our door, very nerve racking.. The hotel is very open to any kind of traffic..Beach was clean though. Make the staff shape up and clean up and it probably could get a better star rating. The bed was not to bad, with better pillows and more of them would make all the differnce. Location was 30 min. away from Cabo and all the activites and the taxi was very pricey. We booked a fishing trip with the hotel, and the boat we were out on, was not my idea as sea worthy, caught a Marlin though. Hotel will only do business with certain compaines, so you get there choice. Not once did we get bothered with timeshare people, that was nice. However I will not go back to this place, ever!!

The location of this resort was fine. However, the food is TERRIBLE!! I thought that the food couldn't be that bad - it was ... a great value for the money - WRONG! The food was mass produced and even at the restaurants where reservations were required, the food was not good. Also, the wine that was included was virtually undrinkable. My friend and I were so dissatisfied that we left after a few nights stay and went to a different hotel which was a great decision.
