The hotel was good .the staff was very nice and hepl full .the hotel is not to close to town but they have a bus ... transportation that was good.

Rude Staff and Weird Rules

Crowne Plaza was a great disappointment to us. The location was not convenient and the free shuttle turned out to be first ... come, first serve with no second trips. Although, it was indicated that you could walk into a small town nearby, it would have been a dangerous trip, with no sidewalks and a busy, narrow street. The hotel has an indoor pool which required you to buy their flip-flops to enter and wear a shower hat like the ones usually offered in the room. The casual dining area was dirty and no one wanted to wait on you! The one staff person worth mentioning was a bar tender who was friendly and informative. My recomendation is that he be promoted to the Manager position and we then hope that he makes major changes to the policies, ambiance and staff to make this a decent hotel. Otherwise, we would never stay there again!

We stayed at this hotel because of the free shuttle to the Vatican and downtown areas and the swimming pool for the kids. In ... order for your kids to swim in the indoor pool they must be at least 16 years old. The outdoor pool doesn't open until sometime in May, so the kids had nothing to do when we returned from a long day of sightseeing. Also, the free shuttle runs every four hours, but picks up and drops off at different places, so we would end up having to take a taxi home every day which runs about 13 Euros per trip. There is no breakfast places near by, so on the first day we were forced to eat at the restaurant. We ended up paying 18 Euro per person to eat. That's about 100 American dollars for 4 people. The breakfast is not worth it. Nice rooms, friendly staff, but I wouldn't take a family there.
