Excellent place to take grandchildren, so many things for them to do. We went on the Misty Maid boat ride, done some ... sightseeing, and souvenir shopping, and, of course a little gambling. We usually go on cruises, but had a very nice three day get away.

While the location was great, the rooms were not well maintained. There were hairs in both the bathrooms and the rooms. The ... bathrooms need serios renovation...usually it is the cleanest part of the room but this time it was not at all. My brother stayed in another room with his family in the same floor and they had the same problems. The beds were clean which was good. For the amount of money we paid we could have gotten a suite for two in the new Hilton Tower!

Great place to stay
Bev Aug 4, 2009
We enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza for our 30th anniversary. The setting was like a trip back in time as the photos, ... furnishings, and original building reflected on the history of the Niagara Falls area. As a historian, my husband was genuinely impressed. The meal in the restaurant with the $40 off gift card was one of the best we ate! The bathroom was a little small, but it was not a problem. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for walking to activities we wanted to see and do. We were disappointed to learn that we were charged $15 per day for parking as this was not explained ahead of time. The same was true of the $9.95 daily charge for wireless network access. Still, we had a great stay and enjoyed the hotel and its "character"!

Rooms on the small side, rooms not on the falls side have a lovely view of a parking deck. Roof top restaurant is over ... priced (like much in the area, it is above average though). Location is great, very close to the falls.

Don't go to the roof top restaurant, its not worth it. Other than the view its not that great. Other dinning options in the area are worth a try.

The hotel's location was excellent; it was just a short walk to the casino (connected via an indoor walkway), the Maid of the ... Mist landing, and some of the best restaurants in the area. The service was wonderful and included a free room upgrade. The room itself was on the small side but was clean, comfortable, and offered a great view of the American and Canadian Falls!

Don't let wet weather deter you from the Maid of the Mist or the Journey Behind the Falls - the crowds will be lighter, teh waits will be shorter, and you're going to get soaked anyway!

Room for Two Jul 13, 2009
The staff at the hotel was great at answering our questions about activities nearby and the best place to watch the fireworks ... over the Niagara Falls. We ate dinner at the Rainbow Room which has one of the greatest views of the Falls and the food was excellent. In the morning, we walked across the street and had breakfast outside at The Secret Garden Restaurant.

The location is right next to the falls, so that's convenient, but know the location first. it's extremely cramped on the ... canadian side of the falls, think of toyko, and so parking is a premium, a la the $15 parking fee. not sure whether the location was worth the parking fee. don't get me wrong, i love the falls -- one of the best attractions in the northeast; so the natural beauty makes up for it all...but is there no middle ground between the cheesiness that is niagara canada and the slightly depressiveness of niagara usa? also, the a/c unit in the room is extremely noisy and the walls are very thin, so you can hear the elevator and your neighbor. on the plus side, the shower in the bathroom feels nice after a long day of sightseeing. the toilet on the other hand is cramped...ladies, this might be the first time you'll be forced to sit sideways in order to fit (and i'm 5 foot 6 and weigh 125 pounds)

The entire staff was excellent, especially the manager on duty, [...]. Upon check-in, I requested an upgrade and he gave us ... a king room right at the end of the 7th floor hallway which had 2 windows since it was a corner room. He even gave us a map of the area and marked points of interest for us! The lobby was very elegant, and although it was an old structure, all measures had been taken to update the facility while still leaving the history and atmosphere of the times. I'd definitely stay there again, but request room 707-very nice with a jacuzzi and fabulous view of the falls!

hotel was very well situated. we found it easy to walk to all the main attractions on the ontario and new york sides. really ... enjoyed the view. we arrived afew hours early, of course the room was not ready, but the hotel made every effort to get the room ready. We didnt mind cause it gave us some extra time to check out the area and eat lunch. the room was "cozy" but we really did not spend much time in it any way.

falls fans Jun 7, 2009
My wife and I have visited the Falls several times over the past few years, and have stayed at several different hotels. One ... of our favorites is the Crowne Plaza (formerly the Brock Hotel). We love the location and the classic old world feel of the property. It makes us feel like travellers of the past, with one foot in the old world and the other foot in the new. You can't beat it.

If you have the chance, take the scenic drive out to the town of Niagara on the Lake. Stop at some wineries along the way but make sure to stop at Peller Winery - it is beautiful and reminds you of the wineries in Napa. If the weather is good, sit on the veranda, purchase a bottle (that you can take with you if you don't finish it), and order a mixed cheese plate. After that, continue the drive to the town and make sure to stop and see Lake Ontario that surrounds the town - the views are breathtaking.
