NOT good!
RP Aug 9, 2009
The room was freezing and registered temperature in centigrade 18 degrees. This isn't Europe. When I tried to call front ... desk or room service line was constantly busy, so finally called operator O who found out there was nothing to be done about how cold room was but to shut off air conditioner entirely (which would mean getting hot during the nite) My friends, a young couple, had a one year old in a crib, and they didn't bring a winter pajama or a snow suit for him to sleep in because it's summer. One year olds don't keep blankets on so he stayed awake all nite and so did they.He doesn't like to sleep in their bed so there was no solution to being cold. For the money I paid, someone should answer phone at desk and suggest what I can do about cold and a shower cap No more shower caps given? They must cost a penny and I didn't bring one because in the last 45 years, I have never gone to a hotel, even an inexpensive one, that didn't supply them. I just came back from a trip to Bulgaria to a 3 star hotel that supplied everything. You must really be scraping bottom to have to cut that out. Next time in Albany I and my young friends who vistit their brother's family will go to Hampton Suites which is lower priced and is probably much better.

Colleen Sep 30, 2007
The Crown Plaza in Albany center was very comfortable, easy to find and extremely clean. We booked the hotel because of how ... close it was to the Pepsi Arena. The access to the hotel was centrally located close by were shopping and alot of ammmenties. I would definitely recomend this hotel to anyone.

Great ambiance
Karen Sep 2, 2007
The Crowne Plaza, Albany, was very clean and friendly and pleasantly appointed throughout. Beds were very nice but the room ... needed another table where there was a large area to one side of the TV that was wasted space. That way, a second or third person in the room would have a place to use like the desk and chair on the other side of the TV. That would be my only suggestion.

A very good Italian restaurant, Lombardo's, was where we drove to only about 5 blocks away. Also, a little further out from the restaurant is a nice park for walking, running, dogs, etc.

My review of Crowne Plaza Hotel ALBANY-CITY CENTER
Diana Aug 19, 2007
The staff at the Crowne Plaza Albany went out of their way to take excellent care of us. The room was very clean and nice as ... we have come to expect. I did find that the bed linens and blanket weren't as soft as I'm used to with Crowne Plaza hotels. I was totally satisfied with everything else.

smoking rooms
Bryan Aug 18, 2007
We had to move twice from non-smoking rooms due to the smell of cigarette smoke from adjoining rooms/hallway. The hotel did ... upgrade our room but moving our belongings the second time at 11:30 PM was not pleasant. The staff was cordial.

Comfortable Rooms, Great Staff
Christopher May 28, 2007
The Crowne Plaza Albany City Center is in a location easily accessible to Museums, The Egg, City Center, and some great ... restaurants and walking distance from an artsy neighborhood. The staff were very attentive to our needs, the rooms were very comfortable, and the general appearance of the hotel was well kept. The Hotel is pefectly safe and has plenty in the way of amenities. Great Bar called Jillian's only just around the corner. CLoe to Amtrak and they also have a courtesy shuttle to ALB airport. I would recommend the use of a car or cab as opposed to walking alone at night through Downtown Albany. It is pretty much the same as most downtowns after the businesses close and the workers go home for the evening.
