We were allowed to check in two hours early and check out one hour late. The buffet breakfast was well worth the price added ... to our daily rate. All the employees, from the desk clerks, to the cleaning staff, to the restaurant waiters and cooks were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The two elevators ran very well. The view from the room was fantastic. The room was very clean and larger than we expected.

Don't forget to walk along Atlantic Avenue at night. There are many street entertainers organized by the city.

Easy to find entertainment here. The beach "strip" is a lot of fun. The city of Virginia Beach hires street performers (Musicians, jugglers, etc.) and there a lot of shops, resturants, etc. within walking distance. I was also impressed with the amount of police security in the area, always felt safe.

They did ir right

The staff was simply outstanding, extremely helpful in every way. The room looked and smelled clean as did the rest of the ... motel (not easy to do with a beach side motel) The location is easy to find and PERFECT for a family vacation. Walk out the back door and you're on the boardwalk, another couple of steps and you're on the beach. The view from the patio was all ocean. Dining at the motel resturant was enjoyable, especially on the patio with an ocean view. My only suggestion to this motel is to use different refrigerators. I couldn't find any temp. adjustment and it appeared that it was either leaking or sweating and left moisture in the bottom of the wood cabinet (without a drip pan) Overall experience was outstanding. No doubt, I'll gladly spend my vacation money here again.

I recommend a different choice in hotels

We went over memorial day weekend. It was a bit rainy so the hotels were not too crowed. From the moment we checked in the ... staff was TERRIBLE. They were rude when we checked in. The bar tender later in the evening tried to argue with us about our drink order and then when we pointed out what should have been in the drink based on what was written in the menu she didn't even appolgize. The next day my son tried to order a virgin pina colada, and the waiter said he was too busy even though the drink menu was on our table. We asked for a manager and that took over 20 minutes. Also the pool was cloudy and the hot tub water was BROWN for two days!!! Gross. We have stayed at the fairfield Marriott just a few block down on the ocean. It's much better!!! I will never stay at this hotel again.

Relaxing Getaway

This trip was a mini romantic getaway for me and my fiancee. The staff was wonderful, very friendly. Our room faced the ... ocean. And was very comfortable. We upgraded and got the free breakfast on the day we checked out. It was wonderful.
