Fiumicino is a nice little quiet fishing village. It's a nice pace after a week in Rome.
--weary warrior, Dallas, texas Jun 30, 2009
You can walk from the hotel to the pier and look at all the fishing boats, which have their fish displayed on the sidewalk. There is no beach -- just a pier. Other than that, there isn't much to do there beyond the hotel grounds.

An excellent surprise
Kathy Nov 2, 2009
I needed to stay at an airport location as I had a 6:30 am flight. I was surprised how inexpensive the Courtyard was when ... compared to the other surrounding hotels. The room was beautiful and huge, compared to the local hotels I had been staying at. I was thrilled to find an oversized bathtub and in-room cable for Wi-Fi! Couldn't have been more pleased.

great end to our trip!
ndchef Oct 22, 2009
We stayed there the night before an early flight home. We just relaxed, had dinner, and printed out our boarding passes. ... The only negative was that after asking for internet access in our room, the desk person neglected to give us a necessary password. When we called to get it, we were asked to go back to the desk! Finally convinced them to give it to us over the phone. The food was overpriced but pretty good.

Ok place to stay
Alicia in Sacramento CA Oct 12, 2009
This is an ok place to stay if you want to be close to the airport. However, I would not stay here again...the staff were ... the Most Unfriendly people esp. at the front desk and seemed pretty snobbish! The pool was dirty and closed. Bring books because there isn't much to do at this hotel. The TV only had 1 English channel (CNN). I would seek other hotels in the area.

An "airport" hotel with bad taxi service
Peter Sep 21, 2009
Nice place, nice room, but not serious about making people's travel work. I only stayed there to be near Fiumicino airport ... for an early flight. They keep a list of earlybirds and claim to order the taxis, but at 4am there were 4 parties outside and no taxis. Arriving to the airport 25 minutes later than planned meant much longer lines. Of course I made the flight, but one of the other parties was placed on standby for a connection. Add 6 euros for their shuttle (starting 6:20 am) or 15-20 euros (for a five minute ride) if you'll need a taxi.

Italian staff not friendly at the desk. Restaurant is noisy. Rooms are small, only twins for two people and not doubles. I ... felt like i was camping. However the proximity to the fishing village makes it nice. There is shopping and one can walk along the water and see folks fishing and basically living their lives, italian style.

Close to the airport
RomeVisitor May 18, 2009
Close to the airport however quite far away from Rome. This is a good hotel to stay on the last day of your trip, its very ... close to the airport and they have a shuttle to the airport for about 6 euros/person. We got off to a rough start as the hotel staff were not used to bookings from Orbitz and they went in a loop trying to find the reservation and finally after a lot of discussion among themselves the staff finally could locate our reservation. If you want to head to the city, take the shuttle to the airport's train station. Take the train to termini. Cab ride to Rome costed us about 60euros, train is around 10 euros per person.

location
John Sep 20, 2008
The only reason to stay at this hotel is its proximity to Rome airport. Its about 5 minutes by hotel shuttle(extra charge for ... shuttle, 6 euro one way per person. We arrived late in the evening (about 9pm). The dining room was full, very few staff on and most diners were complaining about the service. We finally opted to eat pizza in the bar where there was also only one bar man on who did his best to serve everyone. The check in staff were very nice, noticed it was my spouse's birthday and offered us a free drink in the bar.
