Affordable location Historic District
Mama Duck Nov 18, 2009
Hotel was located near the center of the Historic District. Easy walk to Forsyth park and other points of interest. Two ... blocks from Savannah Civic Center. Bus stop for DOT (the free bus system) was on same block. We didn't have to move car once we got there. There is a parking fee of $10 per day. Underground parking at hotel or can park in city parking deck next door. Large room and bathroom, very nice.

Savannah Walkabout
R Nov 6, 2009
This was a fun trip! The hotel was located close to everything in Savannah we wanted to do. Very "walkable"! We took the ... trolley tour and a walking ghost tour. Enjoyed our tour hosts immensly; they were great characters. We did some geocaching, too! This is a great city for it. The hotel has a wonderful breakfast included and a fridge and microwave in the room so we could spludge on a great meal in a good resteraunt each day.

Old Savannah Tours: You pay one price for the day and you can get on and off the trolley all day. It was informative, entertaining and goes all over the historic district so you get a great overview. When you get tired of walking just get on the next trolley!

The free bus system, called DOT, is great for eliminated costly cab rides and also for trips around town afer the "obligatory" tour trips have been taken. The DOT system also includes a lovely circular ferry ride connecting The Hyatt, The Marriot and The Weston hotels all on the river. All for free!

Had all that we hoped for and more!
Mrs. Take-It-Back Oct 23, 2009
We were in Savannah to celebrate our 25th anniversary. While not in a position to spend money for a so-called five-star hotel ... we certainly hoped to find something somewhat "up-scale" by our standards. Boy, the Country Inn & Suites was it! It included a large, clean, nicely appointed room with very comfortable beds and a spotless well-stocked bathroom. Two of the nicest surprises for us were the excellent complimentery buffet breakfast with loads of choices (both hot and cold)and the consierge who was on hand to help us plan our days. (Also, we discovered on our own, there is a stop almost directly across the street from the hotel for the city's completely free bus which continuously drives all over Savannah from 11am until 9pm. What a convenience!)

I've stayed at other Savannah hotel that were better known and more expensive. However, this hotel has all the things you ... want:easy access parking that's safe, secure, and free; within walking distance of all the historic district shopping and fine dining, or just "hanging out", and a friendly and responsive staff to attend to your every need.

We got a great deal through Orbitz!!! We loved the location and the hotel was very nice and clean. We used the fitness ... center it was efficient just small but good for our needs. Everyone was very helpful and nice. Our room was just a bit narrow for our family of 6 but for 4 it would be great! We loved being able to walk every where and we felt safe. There was a $10 a day parking fee that was not mentioned but it too was nice and safe. We loved our trip and had tons of fun!!! Thanks Orbitz

Savannah really is a walking city and though at first we were a bit intimidated because the hotel was at one end, it turned ... out to be no problem at all. The breakfast was a great way to start the day and the concierge was extremely helpful. The pool is small but enough for our kids to unwind and relax after lots of touring. Skip the walking Ghost Tour but the trolley tour was great.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel and we will continue to stay here when we come to Savannah. Great location ... for the price, not in the middle of everything but just a short car/bus ride or walk to where ever you want to go. We had an end room and had a Wonderful view. The room was large and the bathroom was a nice size. Everything was clean and neat. The continental breakfast is always well stocked and is very good, with hot biscuits, bacon, eggs, Belgian waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, bagels and muffins. Very, very good! I am very pleased with this hotel and will not hesitate to spend the money for this hotel ever! You do however have to pay for parking and it is very small parking lot, it also does close at 11:00 pm (I think) and you will have to park across the street in another parking garage and Country Inn and Suites will validate your parking.
