There were many dining places in the area and also many other other hotels in the area and I picked a dump. The hotel doesn't even look like the picture on your website and on the side where the entrance of the hotel was there was a partial lot full of garbage WOW. YOu really need to check the hotels that you list on your website. I could not even sleep in the bed, the furniture was horrible all I needed there was the bread and water. Then I would be in prison. This was not a hotel it was a prison

The place was a dump, although I had paid on line and gave the hotel clerk all pertinent information they made me fill out a ... form and were requesting my credit card for payment. I told them that I had already paid online and was still asked for my credit card only to hear that they do not take Discover Card and that I would have to pay cash. I insisted that I had already paid online and that I had proof of payment. The clerk's reply was why didn't you say so earlier. I told her that that was what I said in the beginning of the conversation. This place is for people that do not like to pay rent. They then handed me a big Key and a TV remote control and charged me a deposit of $20 refundable upon the return of those items. I could never imagine myself going to a hotel and stealing the remote control. In short words, "It was the Hotel from Hell." "Never again".

Not my favorite place to stay...
DD P Aug 9, 2009
We stopped for a one night stay, when I booked the room, I figured something close to the airport and cheap would be okay. ... Well, we got what we paid for. I'm not sure how to pin point it, but my gut was sending up red flags and I was not comfortable. During the night there was a lot of noise, our air conditioner didn't work that well, and a woman kept yelling down the hall. We had a room booked for another night before our flight out, needless to say, after not resting well, we quickly canceled the reservation. If you are brave and don't care - it's an okay place. But if you want to feel safe and secure, I'd suggest shopping around.

Price and Location a Huge Plus
Mymy Jul 9, 2009
For those traveling on a budget or would like to save tons of money, but still have a good clean place to sleep...this is the ... place. It was literally only two blocks from the Isla Verde beach and all the major local buses stopped right in front of it. Drums, a great restaurant with live music played by local bands was only less than a five mimuet walk away and so was Walgreens. The only problem was some noise from planes flying nearby...the hotel is only about a five to ten minuet drive from the airport which was actually a good thing when we had to check out very early in the morning. Other than that minor problem, the hotel was great and at a very reasonal price. Also, our room was cleaned on a daily basis and the staff was very nice, accomodating, and informative about local attractions and even the bus routes. The A5 bus took us to Old San Juan and the B40 bus took us to Plaza del Mercado, a great local outdoor market. Buses were only seventy-five cents each way which saved a lot of money since we didn't have to join tour groups or use taxis to get around at all. We're definitly coming back to this hotel the next time we visit San Juan.
Traveler type: Friends
This will save you anywhere from $20-$40. When you want to visit Old San Juan from this hotel just take the A5 bus for $0.75 and it will drop you off right in Old San Juan. Close to the bus station is a free trolley that will take you all over Old San Juan. If you also want to visit the Bacardi Factory in Cantano, take the ferry in Pier 2 in Old San Juan which is only $1 per person for a round trip ticket. Once you exit the ferry in Cantano, walk towards your right to a large yellow parking garage. There are taxis there that will take you to the Barcardi factory for only $3 per person each way. Visiting the Bacardi factory is free including their tour and two drinks at the bar. Most tour groups will charge you about $40 to visit the Bacardi factory...but why do that when you could see it for only $7.

WHAT I DIDNOT LIKE WAS THE ELEVATOR WAS BROKEN THREE TIMES SO I HAD TO WALK UP FIVE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS, AND THE MAID SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!! The good, the bad, and the really ugly"
Robert and Mary Bridwell May 20, 2009
We went to PR to look at buying a home there, I choose this hotel because it was close to the airport. So the location was ... good. However, the room was a shock to us. It had nothing to offer except for sleeping. The Floor in the room was dirty when we got there the first night. I had taken off my shoes and so did my husband to relax for a while before going out to dinner. However getting up and walking on the floor was a big mistake with out our shoes on. Our socks looked like we had walked out side with only them on and in a dirt pile at that. They were black on the bottems, and as the week went on we had the maid come in to refesh the room and she still did not sweep or mopped the floor. She did take out the trash,.and made the bed up. So the floor remained dirty. We are not the kind of people that go to a hotel and make a big mess. I do all I can to treat it just like my home. I am so happy that I did not remove my socks until I went to bed at night. I use to work in a hotel when I was very young as a second job to help raise my children and make ends meet. I will tell you this we had to wash the floors daily. And if Our water got dirty it was change for each room. Some times we did it on our hands and knees. So as far as I am concerned this housekeeping department you have is useless. If a place is clean people will come back. We will not be coming to stay at this hotel again when we are in PR. I do want to comment on two of the employees that work there. The young lady on the desk was wonderful and the young man that worked secuity at the hotel was just as wonderful. This hotel has two workers that are worth gold. They are worth more then the hotel pays them I am sure. They make you feel so much at home when you are away from home. This is really top Customer Service they went beyound their call of duty to every one that was staying there. So our hats go off to these two [...] and [...]. They are wonderful wonderful honest and hard working people. And they put their selfs out there for everyone.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a cheap getaway and we found it at the Coral by the Sea in Puerto Rico. The staff at the ... hotel were great and very helpful in giving directions to local tourist attractions. The hotel was old but very clean. It also had two restaurants in the hotel. Even though the rooms did not come with the basics necessities (coffee maker, hair dryer, microwave or frig), the room was clean and the bed fine. Who stays in the room when you fly off to an exotic island full of adventure anyways. Thanks Orbitz for an unforgettable vacation!!!

great place take it from me!!!
Jo Apr 23, 2009
So I went with my girlfriend and we were looking for something cheaper than $100. In all honesty if you're going to Puerto ... Rico you're not going to stay in the hotel all day. You're gonna go to the beach, go explore San Juan, and pretty much be out all day. We wanted the basics: a bed, air con, a shower with hot water, and a working tv. And that's exactly what we got. The staff was super helpful in answering all our questions!!! We rented a car and the hotel offered free parking. You can't beat that! Plus the hotel sits on Isla Verde which is basically a strip of hotels. Throughout the day and all night long Tourist Police drive up and down the area patrolling. There's a great food joint downstairs that's fun and cheap. They have ice cream and sandwhiches. Great after a long day out and you just want to stay in for the night. And if you're looking for some authentic food, walk 1/2 a block and go to Ed's Cafeteria. Simply Amazing and Cheap! As for all the complaints I read about this place . . . to me I didn't see any of the problems. If you take a 10 min shower there's hot water. If you take a 20 min shower then there's no hot water. As for the noise from the airport its really minor and last all of 10 sec. I live in a city and hear sirens and horns all night long. I never woke up once to the sound of planes. It's a 10 min (if that) ride from the airport. There's a Walgreens across the street. It has a working elevator, cable TV on a flat screen, and is about 2 blocks from the beach and there's a security guard in the lobby. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling on a budget or just looking for a place that won't rip you off for $150 a night. Have a wonderful time!

The little cafe downstairs is very handy. Friendly people. However, I'd like to recommend that you NEVER let ANYONE hold your credit or debit card. Don't even swipe it at a gas station or a store. Someone stole my card number and charged over $1,300 at a Wal-Mart several days after I returned home. I suggest only getting money from an ATM, and using cash each day for EVERYTHING. I have no idea where this happened: a restaurant? store? I don't know.
