A very elegant hotel
Engineer Nov 3, 2009
Maybe 4-1/2 stars. Very elegant, large rooms, classy service. Because of this, this was my second stay there. But... If you ... are driving, it's VERY hard to get to the front door! Even though I had stayed there before, I STILL missed it the first time! Rush street is one way AND one level below Michigan Avenue at this point. Make sure you study the maps CAREFULLY to know how to get there. Directions: From Michigan Avenue (north of the river) go west on Grand (three blocks), south on State (two blocks), east on Hubbard (two blocks), north on Rush (one block). Can't miss it!

Great stay
Student traveler Oct 23, 2009
I had a great stay. I came for a conference, and the Conrad had better rates than most of the recommended conference hotels. ... It turned out to be much nicer than what a lot of my colleagues had. The room came with flat screen HD tv, BOSE stereo, very comfy bed. I had a good soak in the deep bathtub. Ordering a relaxation pillow from the complimentary pillow menu felt very luxurious. All in all, I was very happy with my stay.

In the fall, the navy pier had a weekend fireworks display and circus. It was really fun. It's a decent walk, but there's also a free trolley.

Magnificent Mile's Best

The Conrad is located perfectly on the Magnificent Mile and attached to the elaborate North Bridge Mall, very close to the ... Navy Pier. The hotel itself has most every amenity except a pool. The room was VERY clean, quiet and peaceful. The staff was wonderful and attended to our every desire. A definite if you're considering a stay.

Great Hotel, Great Location
Chicago Lover Oct 5, 2009
Chicago is one of our favorite places to go and we've stayed in several hotels around the Mag Mile. The Conrad was very nice ... and the location could not be beat. Service was excellent, they let us check in early and the doormen were great. The room was comfortable with nice features. Our only complaint was the double beds are too small, queen beds would be sooo much nicer.

L&L Aug 31, 2009
First of all, when we purchased the room a month before we left, Orbitz stated that we would receive free overnight valet ... parking. When we arrived at the hotel, they informed us that you have to choose a special option on Orbitz to get that offer, which we weren't aware of. So we had to pay for overnight valet parking, which wasn't cheap. The service was fantastic; when we wanted a taxi, we had it in less than 30 seconds! There are tons of restaurants and things to do within walking distance, including the Navy Pier. Overall the hotel was absolutely great.

Affordable Luxury on the Mile!
Archangel Aug 26, 2009
Excellent location and the price was almost $100/night cheaper than a hotel that is close to this location and was not as ... impressive. The rooms were surprisingly quiet as we never heard the people next to us or any noise from the hall. The staff was extremely nice to my older parents. None of us are big on hanging out in the hotel, so we have no comment on the restaurant, bars, gym/pool, or business center. We loved the convenience to the train so we could explore the city. I will stay here again, hopefully in the near future.

Take the train to Clinton stop on the green line and go to AVEC. You'll have to wait and there is not seating for patrons (consider if you have seniors with you) waiting for a table, but the food is some of the best! Hot Chocolate is not a far train ride and I had the best braised rabbit ever. Finally, The Greek Islands is a not to miss place and a short walk from another convenient train stop. It's obviously real Greek food (if you've never had Greeks cook for you) because Greek families eat there. This hotel is excellent for shoppers as well!

Several bars and restaurants within a reasonable walking distance. Pippins Tavern was a nice local bar (no food) with a nice selection of beers on tap. Starbucks just across the street on the Michigan Avenue side. Also Mary's Cafe has an excellent breakfast menu just a couple of blocks away on Grand Avenue towards the lake side. Self-partking garages across the street and kitty corner to the hotel are less expensive than valet parking and very convenient.
