Nice place for the price
J D Aug 17, 2009
Nice and simple. The front desk was very nice when we checked in although the phone did not stop ringing. The hotel looks ... average, everything was good, but nothing special. When we called for room service because they did not replenish our soap and shampoo, we had to call three times before they sent it to us. The room was clean and everything was good. There weren't too many outlets that were easy to access so if you have more than two items to plug, bring your own power strip.

Don't think I'll be back. Jul 20, 2009
This is the first time that I have so much trouble in getting to a room. First, some genius at management has the system set ... up that even if the hotel is booked solid, it will still accept reservations and when you finally do make it to the hotel, more than likely you will be sent out to a different hotel. After doing our check in, we went to the room and what we found was a horrendous smell of cigarettes, as if someone had been smoking in the room with the windows and doors closed and the a/c on. Went back to the front desk and was told that there was nothing else because they were sold out and the man in the front desk basically told me he couldn't do anything else for me, even though they had already charged Orbitz for the stay. I called Orbitz and explained the situation and was asked to wait on hold so they could call the hotel and se how to solve my problem. After two calls on hold for about 20 minutes each, they still could not get to the hotel's operator. I walked back in to the lobby and was told that there was a canellation and was assigned a different room. When we got to this one, with a bit of trouble, we were able to open it and leave our stuff inside so we could go to dinner. When we came back, the door would not open. By this time, it was already close to midnight and we were travelling with our 17 month old son who hadn't slept all afternoon. After about a half hour of trying, the maintenance guy had to basically break the door open with a crow bar which then rendered the room useless. Went back for another room assignment and even though it was past midnight, there were about 4 other families trying to get rooms and were being sent elsewhere. We were assigned a third room and when we got to it, the a/c did not work. At around 1 am, our friends who were already staying there volunteered to give us their room and sleep in the cigarette smelling room so that my wife and son wouldn't have to go through that. Finally the next day we got a room that was below average at best. The saddest part is that the front desk people couldn't get a hold of the manager and said that he wouldn't be back 'till Monday and so they could not really do much or us. Another thing was the the front desk crew at night were dressed as if they had just gotten out of bed, in flip flops, sweatshirts and sweatpants, just completely unprofessional. In the ammenities part of the hotel, they mention refrigerators, if you are counting on the fridge, call ahead as not all rooms have them like they advertise. What should've been two great days with friends turned into a true nightmare.

nice place to stay
floridalover Jul 6, 2009
We had booked a 2 night stay. After the first night we were going to book another night but decided to wait until we figured ... out what we wanted to do. We went to the 4th of July fireworks shows at universal studios. It took over an hour to get out of the parking deck. Anyways we get back to the hotel about 1:00 am to find out there was a fire there that started in the store room. Parking lot was full of fire trucks and we had to park out on the street. We were not allowed in our rooms. I went to the front desk to see if they would give us a later checkout time and they were hesitant but said ok. Great! But I guess they forgot to tell housekeeping as they knocked on our door 3 times, starting 2 hours before the normal check out time, asking us when we were going to leave. We left and went to Panama City. We would have stayed another day in Orlando but after a few hours of sleep and being woke up like that just upset me and half of the other guests that they did the same thing to. Other than this it was a great hotel for the price. We would probably go back. What is the chance of it having 2 fires?

Well When I checked in. I was not informed that the room was a king size bed only. I request double beds. When I went back to ... the front desk they informed me that they was sold out and that was the only room they had left. So me and my friend had to share a bed I was very unhappy with that. Plus the room was for a person with special needs.

Good Hotel for Your Money!

It was a decent hotel. Very comfortable rooms. Extremely close to a lot of shoppping and dining. We rented a car but almost ... didnt use it because everything was so close. In comparison to other hotels ive been to the continental breakfast was filling. the only problem is that the bathroom is small and the shower heads were very short. But i would recommend this hotel

If you understand that this hotel is usually price below the competition then you should no not to expect perfection. This ... hotel is a value for a reason, but if you are looking for a deal and not expecting a lot this is the place to go. The last time I was there in March of 2009 they appeared to be replacing all the carpeting in the rooms. The dining hall was also almost completed, it was being remodeled (where they served free breakfast).

My review of Comfort Inn Universal Studios Area
Rita Dec 3, 2008
The comfort Inn Universal studio area is in a good neighbourhood and came in very handy as a back up to the hotel I wanted to ... stay which was full. For the price I can't complain too much it had comfortable bed, a clean and nice moderate bathroom and the plus for me was its in-room microwave and stor in the lobby which came in handy since there was no closeby restaurant. The checkin was easy and the the staffs were freindly. The big minus here is the environment and rugs can do with proper cleaning and maintenance. They were rather fillthy and there was a cockroach on my bed. I checked out the next morning. With a littel bit of maitenace and regular cleaning if you are working on budget it is not a bad idea.

The hotel is located in a good area near I-Drive and Universal. The hotel is a little older and that is showing in places, ... but they are not neglecting it, and that shows too. The room was well furnished and comfortable. It is not a luxury palace, but simply a clean comfortable room for those people who are going to be out all day seeing all the attractions and just needing a place to sleep. It is a good choice for this purpose due to its value. The pool is also clean and HUGE.

Once we were settled we all had set off for Universal Studios. When we returned at 11:00 pm we were greeted by roaches. When ... I fully inspected the room the tub was dirty, the towel holder was hanging off the wall, and the toliet didn't seem cleaned that day. It was too late to round up 3 kids to change the room. The next day I checked out. When I had told the front desk of the situation, he merely strugged his shoulders. Their service is terrible and I knew I would be wasting my time .
