This is an awesome hotel. The room was beautifully decorated and met all my needs and more. The bed was comfortable, and I ... slept like a rock every night. Great bathroom and shower. You can access the place via Rte. 114 by turning onto Centre Street or the other neighboring side streets between Danvers and Middleton, and sneak through the back way, if you're not into a Route 95/1 hassle.

There are some great classic New England restaurants a short drive down Rt. 1 South in Saugus. The Ship restaurant has good Mediteranean food in a fun atmosphere. A little further down is Prince's Pizza (and it's leaning tower) serving a great New England Pizza. A block or so further south is Kelly's Roast Beef, which aside from serving great roast beef sandwiches, serves the best fried clam roll you'll get in New England, and a little farther south is the Hilltop Steakhouse which has been serving good steak for at least 40 years.

Decent and well-located
Ex-Danversite Sep 8, 2009
Compared to the hotels on Route 1, this place is decent and safe. However, the rooms are less than spotless: there were ... small bits of debris in the dresser drawers that indicated they had not been fully vaccuumed since the last guest; a hangar was orphaned on a high shelf that the housekeeper didn't see; etc. Nothing major, but it may not be up to everyone's standards. Also, while they offer a free breakfast buffet, its quality is below-par: the "orange juice" dispensed from a machine was watery; the hard-boiled eggs were rubbery, etc. Nonetheless, it's far better than the frightening places along Route 1.

Lena Sep 7, 2009
We were visiting Boston and Salem, this made the hotel in a great location. A 20 minute drive to either area. This also kept ... the stay in the hotel at an affordable price. It was also a pet friendly hotel and still remained quiet and clean. The free breakfast had a nice variety, allowing you to make your own waffels. The only thing that annoyed me was that only one of two elevators worked. The one that worked was also running past its inspection date. Upon check out it took us 30 mins to get an elevator. Overall though....with the exception of the elevators it was a great stay. Plenty of room for a pac and play for familys with babies. Nice pool too.

Spartan but decent, good prices
Eeyore III Sep 4, 2009
If I was going to stay there again, I'd make sure I got a room that does NOT have an internal interconnecting door with an ... adjacent room. The soundproofing at the hotel leaves something to be desired anyway, but those doors seem to let the sound seep right through. Otherwise, if you're in the Danvers area, the hotel is a lot better than the scary Route 1 places. It isn't fancy, but its clean and in a quiet location. A good value, overall.

It's much better than the comparable hotels on Route 1. If you know your way around, it's in a good location in the ... Salem/Danvers area. It's a bit Spartan, and the halls echo with noise more than you'd want, but the price is reasonable.

Nothing Special
Monica Jun 10, 2009
The rooms were clean, with room for improvement. My room was in the smoking section and there were cigarette burns in the ... blankets and chairs. The room was not cleaned daily, and the bed was not always made. The breakfast consisted of small donuts and make your own waffles. The outdoor pool was not open, despite the warm weather, and the indoor poor was very high in chlorine, as it burned our eyes. The staff (that spoke english) was friendly and knowledgeable. In all, the hotel was just a hotel. For the price, I couldn't complain. Stay here if you need a place to stay, not if you want to vacation.

This is a great location set off of Rt. 1, but close enough for easy access. Both the front desk staff and the cleaning ... staff were very accomodating to my weird schedule that weekend. Room was clean, wi-fi connection was solid, breakfast was adequate, service was excellent.

Friendly & Convenient
Nicole Oct 28, 2008
This hotel was conveniently located only 6 miles from Salem, Mass and it was easy to commute back and forth. The employees ... were friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was a little small for the amount of guests but it could have been just because of the busy holiday. (Halloween) Would like to see more rooms with two queensize instead of fullsize beds. Will use this hotel again if I return to the area.

Suits all your needs for a getaway near all kinds of locations at your fingertips without having to pay a fortune. The room ... was no frills but it was very comfortable and was exactly what we needed. The location of the hotel makes is extremely easy to get to several places for things to do and see. Just 15 minutes from Salem and 30 to Gloucester and Rockport!

Comfort Inn North Shore, Danvers, Massachusetts is a typical Comfort Inn. It's clean, the beds are comfortable, the showers ... powerful, there's a TV, and you won't really get anything more for the money you pay, but then you shouldn't expect more anyway. It's right next to the highway, but our bedroom faced it, and we couldn't hear any traffic so it wasn't a problem at all.

The Comfort Inn North Shore was what I would call adequate. It was relatively clean and offered a decent continential ... breakfast. Our toilet kept running the whole time we were there, although we were not in the room long enough for it to be too bothersome. The major benefit to this property is that it was a short distance to the highway and for us, close to family.

My review of Comfort Inn North Shore
Robert Jun 22, 2008
I found my stay at the Comfort Inn North Shore in Danvers, Massachusetts to be quite pleasant. Reasonably priced, it was ... less than 15 minutes from my seminar in Boston. Throughout my stay at this hotel, from check-in to check-out, the staff was always courteous, caring, knowledgable, efficient and helpful at all times on all shifts. My room, as well as the pool, was kept clean.

The only problem that I find is it's not so accessible from Boston. Your outsourced telepone rep didn't quite understand how ... important this is. Cost and convenience are both important and so is good KNOWLEDGABLE communication over the phone. What we are looking for is the most competitive cost with door to door transportation. In this case it wasn't exactly the case.
