Within walking distance to Mall (1/2 mile), bus stop(3 blocks), and metro(4-5 blocks). T.V. channels were limited. Vending ... machine was also limited. It has a great, free continental breakfast. Room and bathroom were small but clean. Could hear outside noises and other rooms' doors openning and closing. Smoking floors smelled. If you don't smoke, make sure to request non-smoking floor.

Make use of the metro bus and metro rail because it is much cheaper than a taxi. The bus costs $1 per ride or $3 for all day pass and goes to many hot spots. The metro rail fair depends on where you're going, but still much cheaper than taxi. They are clean and efficient. Many maps are available. I'm from the Midwest, and rarely use public transport. I could figure it out easily and enjoyed saving money!

I was in DC for businees purposes. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. They made excellent dining ... recommendations and provided great directions to various sites about the city. Breakfast was head and shoulders above the typical continental breakfasts at most hotels. The only negative was the miniscule bathroom. You have to close the door to access the toliet. A pocket door would have been a better solution!

This hotel is located about 4 blocks from the nearest Metro station on well lit streets. We felt safe even after dark. There ... is a park that you can cut across to get to the Metro station - a couple of homeless people were there in the evenings but nobody bothered us. The hotel rooms were probably the smallest Comfort Inn rooms that we ever stayed in, but how much room do you need when you are on vacation. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and clean. The continental breakfast (with waffles) was a great money-saver!
Traveler type: Couples
Having the continental breafast, and in-room coffee, available was really convenient and a great value. The last thing I want to do when I wake up is to go in search of a place to eat. There were lots of choices - bagels, yogurt, fruit, waffles, cereal, skim milk, etc. so you could eat healthy - or not - depending on how you felt that day.

Not much around this hotel - no place near to eat, only thing going for it is it's proximity to the Convention Center (if ... that's a benefit). Felt like I was in a poorly renovated SRO.... it's the kind of place you use your room key to get through the lobby entrance after 11 pm.

Visiting Washington,DC. Staff indifferent, didn't help flag a cab, help out with the luggage, no list of places to eat ... there. They seemed few and far between. Would have helped to be displayed conspicuously so didn't have to wander all over the neighborhood looking. Didn't offer to help at any time. Didn't help with taking the luggage upstairs. In order to classify them as services, they have to volunteer shouldn't have to ask. Safe quiet place with no personal feeling. Would recommend with reservations.

Comfortable and Centrally Located
tCarf Aug 16, 2009
I was in town for a conference at the Convention Center just 3 blocks away. The location was also close to a plethora of ... restaurants and music clubs (both Chinatown and Dupont Circle), and a bit of a walk (or short train ride) to the Capitol Mall. The room was large and comfortable. The street below was a little noisy at night, but very tolerable. The bad thing was that Orbitz did not include any information about the smoking status of my room. When I found out at check-in, I asked to switch, but sadly the entire hotel was booked for my stay, aside from the last night. After that first night I begged for any help they could give. It turned out there was an opening in another room, and they happily switched me. The rest of my trip was very enjoyable, with no sore throat or itchy/dry eyes.

When exploring a new town, I like to walk. DC is small enough that you can avoid the train for most of your needs. It's safe to walk around everywhere that I found, with plenty of dining and bar options within 6 blocks of the hotel in any direction.

A couple of tourists Aug 14, 2009
The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful. Housekeeping was very prompt with requests. However, The staff for the ... breakfast area could use additional customer service training. The referral for a convenient gym was great and the rate for a guest at the Comfort Inn was a really good deal. The location was very convenient for the tourist attractions we wanted to visit. Overall a good deal, but it is time to update the rooms and a deep cleaning would be helpful.

My stay included 3 nights. Selected this hotel based on its convenient location in accessing transportation (close to Hop-On ... Hop Off bus stop, Metro Line and Metro Bus stop)and walking to various parts of the city. This is a small hotel surrounded by condos, and other hotels, and close to CVS/Pharmacy and Whole Foods market. One of the best features of this hotel is the free breakfast that has everything you need to start your day. I would have liked a soda/water machine. The staff was very courteous and accommodating.
