Great location and amentities!
lulette Oct 29, 2009
The rooms are really comfortable, except for us Southerners who like a/c--it had already been shut off in October and temps ... were unseasonably warm. However, staff quickly sent up a fan and windows were opened. The subway entrance is on the sidewalk outside, so we rode from the airport for $1.70 each! And, we found Boston's subway to be clean and easy to maneuver. Do not miss the skywalk across the street at the Prudential center and Thornton's Restaurant down the block is the best for breakfast (the only meals we ate there, so other meals are probably great, too!) We had a wonderful time in Boston.

We were personally greeted as soon as we stepped out of the cab. After a quick check in (our rooms were ready early) [...] ... took us to our room. He was delightful - answering all of our questions while making us laugh. The location was no more than a quick cab ride away from all the attractions of downtown Boston. This hotel exceeded expectations and was very affordable. I highly recommend it.

Unbeatable location for the price
A former Bostonian Oct 3, 2009
I enjoy staying at the Colonnade. It's centrally located in the Copley Square area and convenient to restaurants and ... shopping. The $38 a day parking fee is one down side of staying in Boston. However, the alternative, a Boston parking ticket and possible tow don't leave you much choice. Thanks Mayor Mennino!!

Poor Orbitz Experience
Gina Sep 15, 2009
When we arrived at the hotel they could not find our reservation. The woman proceeded to tell me they had no reservation ... under my name, and sent us to the Marriot at Copley. She told us that Orbitz and Orbitz' website was open and taking reservations for Saturday night when the hotel was full and the site shouldn't have been open. The hotel was fine (the lobby, atleast), but I definitely would be hesitant to book with Orbitz again after this dilemma.

Anniversary Vacationers Aug 12, 2009
Had a great time in Boston. The location of this hotel is so perfect. Public transportation (T) is right outside the front ... door. The Prudential center across the street has everything you could need including a visitor's center and the Sky walk. Fenway was cool. The pool was closed for a wedding on the only day that we were able to use it. We went to Boston for our 1 year anniversary. It was kind of hard to be romantic with my husband when there was a room full of little boys next door. The walls are verrrrrry thin. We could hear every word they said. We liked the contemporary decor of the room and the bed was verrry soft. The pillows were great too. I'm not sure why, but every morning we had such terrible back aches. One thing I loved was the windows that opened. That's hard to find in a hotel these days. Make sure to ask for a room that faces the Prudential building for a great view! Also... the thing we liked least-- we weren't told about any parking fees when we booked. It's about $40 a night. They will not tell you about it, they will just charge your credit card. So BE AWARE beforehand. And I'm pretty sure that parking at the Prudential center is half the price, so look into that before parking at the Colonnade. Shopping is great on Newbury Street! The grocery store across the street is open 24 hrs.

First Trip to Boston Jul 29, 2009
Fantastic location...right across from the Prudential Center, only 2 blocks or so from all the shopping and restaurants you ... could want, and the T stop (subway) was literally right outside the front door, which made traveling ridiculously easy the entire trip. Everything was great about the hotel except for the hours of the roof top pool (if it's on the roof, why does it need to close at 8 p.m.?) and the lack of free internet service (which costs 15 bucks for 24 hours of access).

I do want to thank you for the excellent service/staff. The hotel has nice workers and they really provided me the best ... service! I was also very happy with what the hotel offered during my stay. I got a nice and new room with excellent view, a new and comfortable bed with relaxing music, and a new and clean bathroom with all I needed. The Colonnade Hotel provides good quality in everything they have there.... and that is what makes a big difference.

The best hotel and location in Boston
Happy couple Jul 6, 2009
This is simply an amazing hotel and location in Boston's Back Bay. The price was very reasonable and the service was simply ... impeccable. A great French restaurant with an excellent bar is part of this hotel. Took advantage of a very nice roof top pool, although it can be a bit windy sometimes.Loved the fact that the T stop was right outside the front door and the Prudential Center with great shops and restaurants was right across the street. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary there and was not disappointed at all. In fact, the hotel sent us a very nice welcome and congratulatory amentity after learning of our anniversary and decision to stay there. The concierge service was awesome. And their best staff were the greeters/bellhops, especially [...] and [...].Would go back to the Colonnade in a heart beat!

Tickets for the best trolley tour in Boston can be purchased at the concierge desk and you board right outside the hotel's front door. You can get on and off the trolley as many times as you want and the trolley comes around every 10-15 minutes. This will help you navigate around Boston. Highly recommended.

Business traveler Apr 22, 2009
All hotels in Boston are supposed to be no smoking. Smoke poured through the large gap from between my room and the room next ... door. I reported it to the front desk, but it happened every day I was there. I have stayed here several times and haven't had an issue, but not so good this time. Moved to another hotel down the street the third night and had a great room with no smoke.
