Great location, great value
lanpath Nov 1, 2009
Incredible price for the location and very comfortable - the room was small but it was clear when I made the reservation that ... it was intended for only one person - individual climate control worked very well and the bed was very comfortable with light but warm comforter. Nice feature is a fill-your-own chilled purified water station on every floor with bottles provided - could bring your own reusable. Very convenient to take the train up from Midway airport and less than a block from everything Michigan Avenue has to offer. While I did not have time for it, the Riverwalk is just across the street and would make a great evening stroll. On the weekend, the restaurant does not open for breakfast until 8 but if, as I did, you need to be up and out before then, there is a nice place for breakfast almost right next door that opened at 6:30.

If you don't need a car, the Orange Line train from Midway Airport to the Loop has a stop about 2 1/2 blocks away (State-Lake) The fare is is reasonable, the trains run frequently and there is an enclosed walkway at Midway out to the train.

"City Grocery" store (can see it illuminated, north of Club Quarters, next to McDonald's inside Wrigley Building courtyard off Michigan ave. west side) for those that don't like to pay big for breakfast (like me). Buy small cereal/grain/juice/dairy-type items there for an avg. of $5-$6 per person for breakfast and store it in your room at Club Quarters (worked for me). I know some people can't eat small breakfast, but this is just a tip for those that don't want to wander around for breakfast, or get it from the restaurant downstairs.

October Conference stay
2nd Try Chicago Guy Oct 28, 2009
My 2nd visit to Chicago, both have been business. Upon arriving on-site, I had someone at the front desk attend to me right ... away. He was informative about the restaurant, the elevator use (have to use your key for security reasons of course, then press your floor) -- but didn't make any attempt to tell me about Club Quarters Membership options. I guess I was supposed to get a flyer about that somewhere else? Getting to my room on the 27th fl. in the 'tower' section was straightforward. I had a river view, but just barely, a couple more floors and it would've been perfect. Get out of the elevator, and the corridor is about 12 feet wide, with 3 rooms off of it. It was a glorified 'dorm room' setup, but I really enjoyed the space for myself on a business conference. However, if my wife was to come with me as we tried to do, it would've felt a bit cramped at night - with the TV mounted up over the well designed desk area, and two twin sized beds, it was reminiscent of college. The room had been recently renovated, the bathroom as well. The bathroom shower needs a better design. Hard to explain, but lets just say you don't turn it on, hop in, and rinse off. Changing the direction of the water spray is necessary or you'll nearly flood the bathroom (only a curtain and small floor divider, no solid shower door or threshold). Not sure if all the shower plumbing is like this in the 'tower' rooms. All in all, I'm a bit easier to please than most. I'd say the location of this hotel is so amazing that I overlooked a few of the small things -- because you're out looking/touring the great things in downtown Chicago right away!

GREAT location! Room was extremely small and the card key kept losing it's ability to unlock my door and power the elevator, ... therefore when I got into the elevator or up to my room, I would have to wait on the elevator to take me down to the lobby again and again to get the card-key re-enabled.

A frequent traveler to Chicago Sep 21, 2009
This place is great for anyone going to a game (all 4 pro venues) and your priority is a clean, safe, place to sleep. A very ... nice and helpful staff. It is close to so many great places to eat and drink. Plus the CTA is ONLY 2 blocks away (take orange line from Midway to Loop.) If you've never been to Chicago ask directions; things can be confusing with Wacker Drive.

Doesn't matter Sep 17, 2009
Was a little hard to find but mostly because streets in downtown Chicago are screwy. There is no front desk, just a PC ... Screen to use for check in/out. Not bad just...different and unexpected. The bad was that there are only 2 elevators for 41 floors of rooms and ONE WAS BROKEN and there are NO stairs (not that I wanted to climb to my 28th floor room with my luggage anyway) so it took 30 minutes to get up to my room. The rooms are VERY small but were very clean and nicely appointed for the price. There was enough room for a single traveling businessman to get some work done and sleep but I'd hate to try to get 2 or more people in this room.

I have been to Chicago a number of times on business and have always stayed at another "European" style hotel which is very ... nice. But when I was planning a trip for my wife and I to go to the U2 concert, it was sold out. Knowing the area that I wanted to be in, I looked for an alternative and took a chance on the Club Quarters. It paid off! It is located just off the intersection of Wacker and Michigan, which puts you within easy reach of the Miracle Mile, theater district, Art Institute - everything! We had a great view of the river and the historic Wrigley building - very nice. The room was small, but comfortable and nicely decorated. Good bed and GREAT pillows, too! On top of all this we got a great rate. Such a deal!

I went for a business mtg. with spare time for fun. I walked from the Millineum Park train station to the hotel and was ... checked in very quickly with courtesy and efficiency. Room was clean, big enough for one with great view of the river. The price was 1/3 of the hotel 5 blocks away where my mtg. was being held. I walked to Water Tower, Chase for NPR Radio show, Macy's and Navy Pier. The hotel was central to all I wanted to do. Food was good but next door Corner Bakery was even better. I'm a 62 y/o female and was alone but felt safe in the area. They also held my luggage for free on check out day while I finished some fun things.

Water Tower was 11 blocks which I guess is about 1 mile? To the end of Navy Pier was further a bit tiring but doable.

My wife and I took a weekend trip to Chicago without the kids. Our Saturday went like this: Woke up at CQ on Wacker. Breakfast at Corner Bakery, great place, right next to the hotel. Caught the L to North/Clyburn and walked to KayakChicago for their 3 hour (5 mi.) architecture tour of the city. Big on fun (not very detailed on architecture but well worth it). Then took the L back and a short walk to massages at the Fairmont - MySpa. Then a short nap after back at the hotel. We then walked 8 blocks north on Michigan Ave to Rosebud on Rush for dinner - fantastic but make reservations.
