This is a four star hotel also equipped with conference facilities for up to 80 persons and a sauna. 10/07 MQ Modern white building in front of the sea. The hotel is in a great location close to the city centre, but directly across from the ocean with a lovely view.

You're not in Manhattan so don't expect the same thing
William Feb 10, 2008
This is a fascinating non-chain hotel in the middle of Puerto Montt, Chile. It is evidently the oldest (estimate 60ies or ... 70ies) major hotel in the city and it now must compete with some newer more modern properties about a quarter mile away but it still anchors the city harbor. It provides clean sea air, windows that open (with attendant street noise ? I considered this a bonus since all of Puerto Montt is a party on Saturday night) and absolutely wonderful views. It is clean and kitschy with haphazard nautical references to the cities history all around. The staff speaks little English but they are very helpful and very friendly. The beds are comfortable and everything in the room worked. And the showers were HOT, a real blessing after a week of wild river rafting. I just wish it had a laundry. Breakfast was standard Chilean fare, a buffet of scrambled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, bread and fruit. The grocery, pharmacy and (thank goodness) cash machine are right around the corner. This ain?t the fanciest place you will ever stay, but it is fun and convenient and full of local color. I am glad we stayed here.
