Needs room makeover
Disappointed from Ohio Sep 12, 2009
When we arrived late early morning the hostess was rude and unfriendly. She seemed to be overwhelmed by being the only ... staff we could see. Our room had a toilet that ran all day and night right by the ice machine. We complained and were told that the hotel was sold out and since we had prepaid throught Orbitz there was nothing that could be done. The next morning we again mentioned the situation and they sent someone to look at the toilet and it still did not stop running. We were not offered anything but to "deal with it". We just learned to turn the toilet off so we could sleep.

Horrible Hotel!!
Bama Girl Sep 10, 2009
I had a horrible experience with this hotel. Check in was at 3:00, and I arrived at 2:45. I was the second person in line, ... but waited for an hour. They did not have any rooms with 2 full beds available, which is what I booked. They only had rooms with king beds ready. The hotel staff was not helpful at all and could not even tell me when a room would be ready. They could not tell me why the rooms weren't ready or how long I was going to have to wait. I found out later that the rooms were not finsihed being cleaned yet, even though check out was at 12:00. Finally after waiting for an hour a full room came available. It would have been different if the hotel staff would have been friendly, but they were not. Also, the continental breakfast the next morning was awful, and I had to wait 15 minutes to get a plate. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Vacation Sep 8, 2009
When we got to the hotel after the check in time I had to wait in line in the lobby for over an hour to try to check in. I ... was told that the cleaning staff had not had time to clean the rooms from the night before and there were no double rooms available. I reserved a room with two double beds but had to take a room with just a king in order to get a room at all. They never offered to move me into the correct room on the second night. There were a total of 4 of us sharing a room. They did put a roll away bed in the room but it was very uncomfortable.

Incredibly inept checkin process!
Hokie Andrew Sep 6, 2009
I arrived at the College Park Clarion at approximately 4pm to find a line that spanned the entire width of the lobby waiting ... for the check-in desk. The hotel staff stated that they had an unusually large number of checkouts and that they were still cleaning rooms a full five hours after the stated check-out time. We were informed that we couldn't check in until there were room numbers available to assign to guests. I had reserved a room with two double beds, non-smoking and after two hours in line I had to settle for a room with a single king and a roll away bed as we had three travelers. It is absolutely ludicrous that the check in process operated in this manner. People should have at least been assigned rooms and given the opportunity to check in and drop their bags and go to dinner while the rooms were being cleaned. When this was proposed the staff stated that the reservation system would not allow this. The lack of flexibility in Clarion's handling of this situation was very frustrating. No one from management came out to explain the situation leaving the friendly staff to fend for themselves with a lobby full of angry customers. No reduction in rates or compensation beyond a free continental breakfast was offered. It is also outrageous that the hotel reservation system allowed overbooking of room types. I was very disappointed to not have enough bed space for all of my travelers. I was fortunate to get the last roll-away bed in the hotel however it did not make for a comfortable sleeping experience. The one positive was that the staff was courteous, friendly and apologetic but their hands were tied by customer hostile procedures and policies which left them unable to actually deal with the situation or offer meaningful compensation. The hotel room itself was spacious and comfortable. Older tube type televisions but the bathroom was very nice. The lobby was nicely appointed but not so nice that I enjoyed wasting two hours trying to check in. I will avoid this hotel and all Clarion affiliated brands in the future and stick with Marriott or Hilton affiliates. This experience made it clear that Clarion does not value its customers nor does it provide its customer facing staff with the latitude necessary to handle unfortunate situations.

Clarion Hotel College Park Ga. The outside of the hotel looked nice. Check in was ok. We were to have had a room upgrade to ... the excutive floor (this did not happen. The room was ok Nothing to write home about. BUT the smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling by its wires. and the photo hanging on the wall the glass was broke in it. As far as the handicap room went the shower had a portable transfer bench and hand rails. I was not impressed for the money and what was excpected.

The clarion hotel is a nice inexpensive hotel the only thing that I did not like was the hotel had nowhere for you to warm up ... food. I realize that it is a business but as a consumer who travels when you travel you are also eating at restaurants and for a hotel to not have a microwave for the guest to warm up their food is just an inconvenience to the guest and will cause me not to recommend your hotel.

Personable Staff in All Areas of Hotel
ALICEN Jul 29, 2007
The Clairion Atlanta Airport was impressive on arrival and welcomed the two of us (long-time girlfriends traveling without ... husbands). Very pleasant staff from first contact. Reception coordinated with Housekeeping to secure room for early check-in and provided information about local shopping (directions to Wal-Mart) and restaurant and lounge hours. There was a family reunion taking place while we were there. What a great idea! I will strongly consider having a family reunion at the Clairion Atlanta Airpot due to its hospital staff and room amenities, indoor and outdoor pool, fitness center, great breakfast, and convenient location to airport and major highways. There is no need to leave the facility and, actually, other than paying a visit to a dear friend at Emory Hospital, we spent our time right in the hotel. Total comfort and relaxation. I well-deserved break from the day-to-day routine. And, oh, by the way, several airline crew members stayed at The Clairion; that's a great testimony to traveler convenience (complimentary shuttle bus to and from the airport every 15 minutes)!

John Jul 28, 2007
I had a bad experience with the airport shuttle to the Clarion Hotel Atlanta Airport. The vehicle did not have a designated ... pick up point. When I found the vehicle, it was full. After over 1 1/2 hours trying to catch the shuttle, I took a cab. I told the desk about the about the problem and asked the hotel to cover the cost of the cab, which did not cover. I will not use this hotel again.
