A place to stay but had its problems.
Just me Oct 25, 2009
We attended some competition at the UofU. The hotel room was okay but if that bed was a queen bed I would hate to see a full ... size bed. Also when we went to take a shower the faucet was broke and we could not get any hot water.

Very nice stay. I had read previous comments that were negative about this property but I heard they were working to turn it ... around. In my mind, they did so. Granted, it's an older property but the stay was very pleasant. Rooms, bedding, etc looks like they have been upgraded. Staff was great. The location is good if you need to be near downtown.

Both shopping at Trolley Square and lots of dining is nearby. The staff has suggestions of where to eat depending upon your likes.

There is a shopping center called Trolley Square with dining and shopping options. I enjoyed the Desert Edge Brewery and Pub.

Central location; reasonable

The only complaint I had was 5:30 a.m. mechanical noises. My wife loves the large vanity to spread out her stuff. I like ... having the toilet and shower in another room, so that one person can groom and the other bathe.

Filthy and disgusting hotel
Tom Sep 30, 2008
Flimsy worn out saggy matress, excessively loud air conditioning, cigarette butts, holes in drapes, terrible bed linens, worn ... carpeting. The entire place was disgustingly filthy.

Good value

Chase Suite Hotel in Salt Lake City was comfortable and the room was large. I chose this hotel primarily based on location ... (just east of downtown) and price. Because these rooms feature a kitchen they would be especially good for an extended stay. I just stayed for the weekend so didn't use these features. The staff was pleasant at check-in and check-out. I found the room to be a bit dark - the decor might have had something to do with that in the living/sleeping areas however the bathroom was too dark. The room had a sleeper sofa and a desk and a bar with stools for eating or working. There is free wireless in the lobby but you must pay for it in the rooms. This is a pretty standard room with a very motel feel but was clean and functional. There is easy access to public transportation (the TRAX train and buses) and many restaurants of varying price ranges within a 10-15 minute walk. There is also a Whole Foods about 1 block away. Very convenient location, adequate room.
