A General Hotel Experience
Robe Lover Nov 3, 2009
I was there for a friend's wedding and was looking forward more to the weekend away by myself, than to the wedding. The room ... and hotel were fine. The thing I was looking forward to the most was some quiet, comfy study time. The hallways were pretty loud (I was surprised you could hear so well from inside the rooms) with kids running up and down, but not that big of a deal. I called down for a robe (my favorite part of staying in a hotel is putting on a big, fluffy robe) and they brought me a completely rough, starchy thing of a robe that was not comfy at all. That being said, the sheets and bedding were great. At one point in time I called the front desk and asked where I could get a bagel or something for breakfast. The woman told me that there was no where outside of the hotel lobby where I could find such things (obviously, there were 2 different places inside the lobby that were more expensive than I was looking for).

A couple of blocks away there is a shopping center with a bagel place and a bunch of sports bars and such where you can find most things you need. It is nice to get out of the hotel lobby.

When we arrived to the hotel the bell hops never opend the door for us nor did they volunteer to assist us with our ... luggage. After 8 requests our room was never cleaned. We spoke to the front desk 6 times and the maids on the floor 2 times and no one bothered to clean our room.

If you're staying in Charlotte save your money and do not rent a car. Everything is within walking distance. In 3 days I didn't drive anywhere and parking fees are not cheap at the hotel.

Very nice Hotel, beautiful room
Ivy Nov 2, 2008
TheCharlotte Marriot Center City was a beatiful hotel. We were quite happy with the quick check-in and check-out. The room was ... newly renovated and was a little different than any room I have ever stayed in. There were a couple of minor issues, one being the fact that there was no threshold at the door, so there was a large gap. this bothered my husband more than me, we put a towel down when we were in the room. This also made it a little easier to hear the people in the hallway. There were about six lamps in the room, But even with all of them on, I couldn't get enough light to take a decent picture. Several restaurants were in walking distance and the sports bar in the hotel had good food. Also access to a number of places throughout the building.Overall it was great and I would recommend this hotel.

PERFECT FOR BUISNESS AND A WEEKEND GETAWAY. THE ONLY THING WHAT WAS A LITE BIT THAT THE BATHROOM NEEDED TO BE REMODELT.

Toilet Troubles
j Feb 17, 2008
This hotel was very nice except for a problem with the plumbing. After 3 calls on 2 separate days the problem with our ... toilet was never fixed. It would not flush and overflowed. The staff was most unhelpful and offered to do nothing for us. I will not stay here ever again.
