Chaparral Suites Met Our Needs
Prospective Snowbirds Nov 15, 2009
This hotel worked well for us. It was clean, roomy, and had a very nice warm pool. It was economical and centrally ... located. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The only downside was the shower was extremely forceful and we ended up standing in water as the drain was slower than the shower. The "exhaust fan" in the bathroom only filtered and recirculated the air so it became very, very humid in the bathroom. Not really a problem under the circumstances but hardly "luxurious." The made to order breakfast was more than ample but not very health conscious. Lots of fat and cholesterol tastes good but not so good for you.

Stayed at Chaparral for business. What a great location! Walking distance to Scottsdale Fashion Square and all those ... wonderful restaurants. Fabulously oversized room - front living room-like experience with a table and three chairs, a bar with refrigerator and microwave. Large bedroom with an in-room safe. Separate vanities for getting ready in the morning. The bathroom was a little small but the shower worked great. Lots of mirrors in the room. Free internet hook-up. The room looked over the front courtyard and the fountain and its sound was beautiful. Very, very clean. The check-in desk was very helpful and knew the area. The night time "happy hour" on site was a nice treat. Yes, it probably could stand a little more updating (the televisions seem old and not a huge channel selection) but for the price and amenities, i would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I wanted a nice weekend getaway for our 29th Anniversary and we were very happy with our stay. Our room was ... very clean and all the staff was very freiendly. The manager even had a bottle of champaign waiting for us in our room when we arrived. The location was good and found good restaurants near by. We would definately stay here again.

A Great Visit
Linda Apr 22, 2009
We so enjoyed our stay at the Chapparal. We were there for a week - the pluses included on-site car rental (far cheaper than ... renting from the airport), shuttle service, good location, a clean, well maintained room, a full, hearty breakfast each morning, a quiet courtyard with a clean pool and spa, helpful, happy staff with genuine smiles (no plastic people, please)good location with many good restaurant choices nearby, as well as a good restaurant and great sports bar on site. The only negative was our room was located on the west side of the complex and we found the street noise from Scottsdale Road - especially motorcycles - to be annoying during the evening hours. We plan to stay again, but this time we will request a room on the north side of the complex, away from the major arterials. This is not a complaint about the Chaparral; it's more a location problem that any hotel would have that is located along busy streets.

Great Scottsdale Holiday
William Sep 3, 2008
Stayed at the Chaparral Suites for 4 nights at the end of August '08. Two room suite was spacious and spotlessly clean. Every ... staff member spoke to you and smiled. Nice. Free made to order breakfast was a great way to start the day. The staff here was outstanding. Free happy hour at night, shuttle to the airport, free newspaper, wireless internet, pool, hot tub. Loved our holiday, can't wait to go back.

William Aug 25, 2008
We cannot say enough good things about our stay here. Flew into Phoenix on a Sunday and the shuttle was at the airport in ... about 20 minutes. Great driver, very friendly. Check-in was fast and our room was ready early. Two room suite with a king bed in one room and a kitchen/sitting room in the other. Bathroom was on the smallish side but was immaculate. Wireless internet was good as was the wired internet. Each person we met from the staff were friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the free Happy Hour and the made to order breakfast. Both great and again the staff went out of their way to make us happy. Ate in the Sports Bar twice during our stay and the pub food was great and very reasonably priced. Shuttle back to the airport, wake up call and check-out all went without a catch. One of our nicest stays at any hotel. Highly recommended.

Delightful Scottsdale Retreat
Tom Apr 9, 2008
Our recent stay at the Chapparal Scottsdale Resort began early as they placed us in a quiet room away from road traffic ... several hours before the usual 3 PM check-in. The suite was commodious, two large rooms and bath with a bedroom vanity and refrigerator for snacks and cold beverages. We often had more baby jack-rabbits as companions at the pool than other guests. It was only a few blocks to Chapparal Park for our early morning run-walk, part of the excellent Scottsdale Greenbelt trail. The park is ideal for dog-lovers with three dog runs and well-landscaped grounds. Breakfast was a full meal with cooked to order eggs, potatoes, and meat supplemented with succulent fresh fruit, enough to last until dinner. The complimentary happy hour featured mixed drinks as well as wine and beer and they'd start your evening with two of your preference. It's also an easy walk to Old Town and its restaurants. We strongly recommend the Chapparal Suites.

Great Ameneties
Marjorie Jul 29, 2007
Chaparral Suites was central to shopping, dining, night life. The full breakfast was superb. It tasted good and it was ... FREE. Not like your usual continental breakfast at other hotels... Chaparral offered eggs, french toast, sausage, bacon, fruit, and if you wanted -- cereal. It was nice not having to figure out where to go for breakfast. AND, there was free happy hour from 5:30 - 7:30 -- they offered free drinks catering to the entire family plus popcorn. The room was very comfortable. I liked that the living area was seperate from the bath area as well as the sleeping area. And, there was a seperate vanity/sink area in the bedroom allowing us to get ready all at the same time rather than waiting for the bathroom. The kitchenett was just the right size. All in all, it's a wonderful place to stay. Whether for business, family vacation w/kids, or adult vacation. Many times my husband, myself and friends stay at other hotels for a no kid's trip and we want to leave the kids noise at home, but are faced with too much noise where we stay... Not at the Chaparral. We can come here with our kids or with no kids and have a great stay.

The Chapparal has very nice room suites quiet & comfortable even over the holiday weekend. The bed could have been more ... comfortable (pillowtopped) & bathroom needed a cauking update. The 2 pools were wonderful and really enjoyed the inclusive made-to-order breakfast. The happy hour was nice also -lots of people, the popcorn was not very tasty. Will go & enjoy again.
