Executive look, comfortable feel
Utzy Sep 14, 2009
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. It's a little bit off the beaten path for the tourist stuff along ... Michigan Avenue, but the price is right to walk the few extra blocks. [...], at the front desk, is the most amazing help when it comes to where to go, what to see and do or where to eat, and how to get to each place. He's the primary reason for the return visit. During both visits there was some middle of the night guest noise that was loud enough and went on long enough to disrupt a good nights sleep. I believe hotel staff had to take action in both situations to quiet the raucous. The rooms are clean, however a little cozy. The staff is attentive upon receipt of a request.

"Central" to downtown business district!
Donnie D Aug 31, 2009
Staff was friendly and helpful. I stayed on a Thursday night, and then a separate stay on a Saturday night. The rooms are ... consistently small; however, clean and comfortable. The common areas (business/lounge) were quite swanky and contemporary, and the selection of beer at the Elephant & Castle restaurant was tasty. I think it is a very good value for the price in a very central location to access anything in the downtown area.

Stay here for next year's Lollapalooza!
modmeg Aug 15, 2009
Stayed at the Central Loop for 3 nites while attending Lollapalooza in Grant Park. The location couldn't have been better! ... Only a 4 block walk to the park, and 5 blocks from the Sears Tower! The only complaint i had was our door was right next to the people staying in the room beside us, and the door kept opening and slamming, that got very annoying. But other than that, I would definately stay here again!

After a busy day and enjoying the city in the evening, the room was just what we needed (5 nights- no problems). Queen bed ... w/ kitchenette (microwave, fridge, coffee) was perfect. AC was nice! The city speaks for itself - the hotel fits right in. Go to the new Modern Wing at the Art Institute and be sure to check out Millenium Park.

Nice, Clean Hotel
Cardinal Fan! Jul 12, 2009
The hotel front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small and there was no bathtub ... but neither was a problem. It was very clean and had plenty of hot water for showers. The bedding and pillows felt very fresh, fluffy and comfortable. Would definitely choose this hotel again when in the area. The hotel had a great location with almost everything in walking distance.

If you are going to Navy Pier, it can be a little confusing and a fairly long walk. On the way back we took the water taxi, it brings you very close to the hotel and the price was very reasonable.

The Hotel was great. I arrive about 45 minutes before my check-in time and my room was ready and I was able to check in ... right away. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is located close to both bus and train stops, which makes traveling around the city easy. Also the restaurant attached to the hotel had great food at a reasonable price. Overall this was great hotel to stay in, especially since it was a great price for hotel located in the Central Loop.

Good Hotel, But. . .
Chicago visitor Jul 6, 2009
Staff was very friendly, helpful, and responsive. Convenient to Michigan Avenue attractions. Great shower. Good free ... Internet. Only two towels and one washcloth in a room reserved for four people. Sofa sleeper was dirty. Towels and linens stained, but otherwise appeared to be clean. Room next to elevators and poorly soundproofed. Sounded like we were sleeping in the elevators.

If you walk to the John Hancock Building, you can have buffet lunch Monday thru Saturday for just $18.00 (tax, tip, coffee/dessert, alcohol NOT included) & because you're on the 95th floor, you can see everything! It was beautiful & fancy & much better than paying $20-something bucks to go up to the Sears Tower & only get the same view of the city! Also, when the Cubs are away, Wrigley Field gives a 90-minute tour for $25 & it's incredible! You even get to sit in the Press Box, visit both clubhouses & hang out on the field itself & pitch!!!
--rholuvbug, Queens, New York Jun 9, 2009
Take the Metra from OHare & transfer to the Blue line to get 1 block from the hotel. Don't need a car, it'll cost you more money to have a car if you're staying downtown.

Go see the Art Institute and Chicago River area. Take an architectural tour along the river but get good directions to boat launch site. Easy to miss.
