At first glance I was not impressed with the exterior of the hotel. It is located behind another hotel and thus you need to ... go through a small passageway to get to the entrance. Seeing the room reinforced my first impressions of what I thought of the hotel as a whole; antiquated. The room was a suite with a lot of space. However, the AC was broken and took more than a day to get fixed. We wanted another room, but the front desk was reluctant to proceed with the idea. Inside the room was stuffy with a hint of mildew. The bathroom faucet and shower head looked like they were the original set and sprayed water all over the place never in a uniform manner. Contrary to what we first experienced, the rooms were cleaned each and everyday with fresh towels. With regards to the food I was not impressed. Each morning served the same food. There was not much variety at lunch either. We had dinner in the a la carte restaurants which required reservations, but I doubt it was ever needed b/c I only saw one other family with us each night. I've stayed at other hotels where there was a large variety of food, and this did not measure up. The only enjoyable aspect of this trip was the beach which means I should have chosen another hotel, as should you if you are thinking of choosing this hotel.

Don't let the guy at the airport with the touring company sign take your luggage to the van b/c he will ask for a tip upfront, $5 dollars per person. This was an atrocity b/c they were clearly ripping off visitors. He ended up not even being the driver. Be wary of these guys and just roll your own bags to the van.
