Cascadia Hotel and Suites

This was a great place to stay at a fantastic price. Price of the hotel was at least $100 less than surrounding places, and ... it featured a well-stocked hot breakfast buffet. Once we entered our room, we heard nothing from the rooms or hallways around us, even though we were across the hall from the elevators. I would definitely stay here again; it is perfectly located and great value.

The hotel was in a good location for young adults. Plenty to do within walking distance. Our room view was nice as well. The ... staff was friendly, and the breakfast buffet was quite impressive. The room (suite) was nice, but a bit dated. Older furniture and TV. It was sufficient, but not extravagant. My only real complaint was that we placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door every day, yet every day the maid service came in anyways. Personally I don't need my room cleaned every day, and don't like having people in there around my things when I'm gone. This is probably a non-issue to people who want maid service every day.

Breakfast was excellent. A local tour bus stopped right at the hotel. We met people from all over the world at the hotel, ... which added to the experience. When we reported that our room was too hot, it was fixed right away. Service at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Internet access in the lobby was an added benefit.

Absolutely do not visit the Vancouver Aquarium in the afternoon in summer. It is mobbed and hard to enjoy. We were told that mornings were much better.

Excellent rooms for the price
Family's trip arranger Jul 29, 2009
The Cascadia is in an excellent location within easy walking distance to the water taxi to Granville Island and to bus stops ... to other attractions downtown and in Stanley Park. It is convenient to a number of restaurants and even to a grocery store if you feel the need to cook. The hotel was quiet, but there was some street noise fairly late at night. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable with good beds, a sofa, and a kitchenette. The hotel is very conscientious about recycling. Staff were very helpful with questions about what to see and the best way to get there.

Vancouver 2 day getaway
David Jul 25, 2009
When checking in, front desk staff tried to do upgade to room with a charge rather aggressively. Not all the staff were ... friendly. Great pool and decent breakfast. Our "jr suite" was very small and had runs in the carpet. They also charged me directly for our stay...had to call the hotel and get that reversed....not very happy about that!

The location of the hotel is great!.. Walking distance from shopping and dining.. Very close to Robson Street and the main ... attractions. The staff was helpful and the room was huge (i got upgrade to a suite in the 16th floor), very clean and with balcony. The breakfast is good, i mean, not deluxe, but it is included in the rate and we enjoyed pancakes, French toast, eggs, etc... The only thing is that it is always very crowded, and sometimes the waiters rush you to leave the table, but again, for the price you cannot expect anything better than that ( at least in Vancouver) I recommend this hotel, and I would stay again without hesitation.

Great location and ammenities
Sang the sushi-lover Jul 7, 2009
The hotel is located in the southwestern part of downtown Vancouver called "Yaletown". There are sushi restaurants on every ... street corner, as well as late-night pizza joints. My boyfriend and I were staying here for 3 days to attend a wedding, and it was great. Every Thursday, the hotel hosts a happy-hour in the cocktail lounge with free yummy appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks. There is also a free hot breakfast each morning that includes sausages, scrambled eggs, yogurt, fruit, bagels, english muffins, etc.-- a nice start to each day. The room itself had a complete mini-kitchen, including fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, and all the kitchenware you would need to cook and eat your own meal-- very convenient! One of my favorite activities was going to the beach at the Spanish Banks, where the ground is so flat, the tide recedes about 50 yards during low-tide and you can walk for ages into the water and still have it only up to your knees! A great spot for skimboarders and children to play in shallow water. We were also able to pick-up a few fun volleyball games with the locals, who were amazingly friendly. Bocce ball was also a popular activity. Since Vancouver is so north, the sun sets very late during the summer, around 9:00 p.m., and lasts for an hour, giving you many hours of sunlight to play... and a majestic sunset to finish your day. Vancouver is awesome. :)
