Casa Del mar
CaboFan Nov 5, 2009
The hotel room was very large, modern, clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The pools and jacuzzi were immaculate ... and the staff was attentive. The fitness room was state of the art. The only downside was the resturant was average and when you check in they do try to get you to attend a meeting to purchase a villa but it is not high pressure and once you say your not interested they don't continue to push. I would stay here again and we enjoyed the property and beach immensly.

Next door to Casa Del Mar is the Las Ventanas hotel. You can walk on the beach to get to both resturants, reservations are a must. The grill resturant (more casual) and the main resturant are fantatstic. It is a bit more expensive but not by much and the cusine and service is 5 star, worth every dime.

Youngerman/Filson wedding
Cristina Oct 26, 2009
This was a great hotel! I went for a friend's wedding and had the most relaxing time laying by the pool down on the beach. ... It was absolutely beautiful! I felt like I was in a Corona commercial. The beach was perfect white sand and the water a brilliant clear turquoise blue. The staff was super attentive and friendly. Service was quick always. Probably one of the nicest, cleanest hotels I have ever been in. It was away from town (which is fine by me as I like to lounge by the pool, play in the ocean and order pool side food service.) The food was exceptional - especially the shrimp tacos!. I went by myself this time but would not hesitate to bring our whole family here. I personally like that the hotel is away from everything. The kids could play along the beach and not get lost in any crowds. You definitely would want to go into town to do shopping as the gift shop is very small and high end in price but the silver jewelry is amazing.

The hotel doesn't have a huge amount of things to choose from so you definitely would want to take a cab into town (runs about $6 per person each way)

Beautiful Location. Management so-so
Bobandterry Oct 26, 2009
Beautiful, hard to complain with such a great grounds/location. But the management was not too accommodating. The offer ... says you get $200 in resort credit, but when you get there, it's only in coupons, which are in $10 increments, with no change back. If you buy an $11 drink, it will cost you $20. Also, the staff will get your orders wrong every single time, and the tv broke 2 days in a row. But overall, the place is still beautiful

This place is a perfect, boutique hotel. It is beautiful from the moment you enter the grounds. The staff was incredibly ... welcoming. For the money, this is the place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful, calming place in cabo. We stayed at another resort for a few days (much bigger resort) and then the last 4 days at this hotel. This was a perfect retreat from all the people at the larger hotel. We were a couple traveling on our honeymoon and this resort was perfect for that. The staff was very helpful but not in our faces - just right. If you're looking for a peaceful, calming, beautiful place in cabo to relax, sit in the pool, drink margaritas by the ocean, this is the place!

This was more than what I expected and I will definately go back. The location and the place is like being in paradise. It's ... peaceful, relaxing, and the staff is great. The only negative thing is the price of their restaurant food, not reasonable and not all that great. I suggest make the drive to surrounding areas.

Great hotel to relax and rest!
SR Aug 22, 2009
This is a very nice small hotel built like an old spanis hacienda. All the room have ocean view and private terrasse. Our ... room even had a jacuzy tub! This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the pool and the beach. However, the beach in front of the hotel is not suitable for swiming. If you like hotel with a lot of activities and night life, this is not the place to go. The Service is impecable both in the rooms and in the restaurant. There is noly one restaurant in the hotel with excelent food, a little bit pricy may be. The rooms are very nicely decorated and the beds are great! This hotel is located approximately 8 miles form San Jose del Cabo and 15 miles form Cabos San Lucas, so you may want to rent a car. The hotel has an AVIS rental office on site, very convenient. The staff is very nice, check-in was very easy and we got a welcome margarita! I will greatly recommend this hotel for nice, quiete and relaxing stay!

Beautiful, relaxing, quiet getaway
SKB May 18, 2009
Casa Del Mar is one of only places that can truly get us to relax and unwind. The size of the hotel keeps the crowds small, ... while the condo development provides the size to give you all the amenities. In the years we have visited there has never been a crowd, always been perfect weather and the grounds are beautifully maintained. If you are looking for nightlife or a lively atmosphere this is not your place, if you are looking for a place to relax, read a book and have a cold drink by the pool this is a great place. The welcome Margarita is the perfect start to a relaxing trip.

Both San Jose and Cabo are a short drive away if you want variety in your eating choices. Tequila's in San Jose is one of our favorites. Also upon arrival there is a Mega store or a Costco (for members) to buy snacks and bottled water that can save you a lot of $$ over the resort prices.

Lovely small hotel
Melisa Jul 3, 2008
This was the second visit to Cabo San Lucas for me and my sister. We stayed at a chain hotel the last time and decided we ... would prefer a smaller, less crowded hotel so we chose Casa Del Mar. The staff was very welcoming and the service was great all week and the food was very good. Our room was very pretty and had a great view of the hotel grounds and ocean. However, there happened to be a wedding the first weekend of our visit and the wedding party took over the whole hotel. The staff was very focused on the set-up for two days and did not have a lot of time for other guests. In addition, the wedding party was very loud and obnoxious, partying well into the night which kept us up. To add insult to injury, we had a family with a baby staying next door and we heard the baby crying at 5am every morning. My sister, being a seasoned traveler, decided that she did not think it was fair that we paid for a night considering we were miserable. She called to speak to the manager and met with him the last day. He apologized and offered free spa services but my sister declined and requested that one night be refunded. He obliged and offered to move us to another room. Unfortunately, the only other rooms had covered balconies and our room had a great balcony and we did not want to give this up so we stayed in our room. The only other issue is that they do not have shuttle service so we had to take a cab into Cabo or San Jose which ran 20-25 dollars each way. Overall, the hotel is very pretty and the staff is great. But don't assume that it will be quiet for there were several families with childern. I would stay there again if I knew a wedding was not happening the same time.

Cabo has lots of restaurants but so does San Jose Del Cabo. We ate at La Panga and Tequila and the food was excellent. If you are in Cabo, you must try Edith's for the food and atmosphere. It is pricey but so worth it!
