Wonderfully located on Orient Bay, the most famous beach on the island, the Caraibes Beach Hotel, (formerly Cap Caraibes) is intimate and simple, pleasant and above all… friendly. Beach lovers hotel

Cap Caraibes St. Martin is a very small (35 rooms on three floors) hotel on Orient Beach. Although the most beautiful beach I ... have ever seen is a very short walk away, you can't see it from the ground floor, or the second floor. The view is obstructed by a beach bar restaurant. The few staff at the hotel are very helpful and polite. The rooms are large ,but could use some udating as the furniture, drapes, lamp shades, etc. are getting old and a little run down. The beds are firm. The rooms are very clean (cleaned daily by hard working, friendly island ladies). The room is equipped with a safe, two burner stove, microwave and small refridgerator. All cooking utensils, dishes, silverware are provided. Every room has a balcony (first floor patio area) with a chase lounge a table and two chairs.Nighttime Security is also present. The TV only gets a few stations (4-5), most in French, (HBO has Spainish commercials but movies in English( go figure.) European ESPN, a lot of soccer. International CNN on a continuous loop. The pool is small, but looks inviting, we never ventured in because the Carribean is steps away. The tiled walkways around the hotel are very slippery when wet! The hotel also has a large cat population that hangs around waiting to be fed. It's not out of hand, but could be if not controlled There are restaurants, bars, groceries, etc. within walking distance. The hotel does not have a workout area but who cares -your on vacation. Towels are exchanged daily but they do not provide wash cloths?! A beach towel is provided for each guest and beach chairs are free in front of the restaurant. I would recommend this moderately priced hotel and would stay again.

Great Beach Location
Galen Jun 17, 2007
The Cap Caraibes was very comfortable, but could use some ample updating. The room was moderate size and offered a kitchen ... with a stove, microwave and small refrigerator. The bathroom was decent size but lacked the amentities you may be used to. They don't provide washcloths or extra bath towels. You will need a power voltage converter for any personal electrical items you may bring. The location of the motel is very good however I believe their were only (4) rooms on the third floor that provided ocean view. If you aren't interested in ocean view I would recommend staying on the second level. They didn't have restaurants on the hotel grounds, however you could walk a short distance to several decent restaurants. The beach location was excellent however they only have a small reserved area with lounge chairs and umbrella's. If you are a early bird it is not a problem getting a chair and umbrella. Otherwise you could rent a chair and umbrella for about $6.00 per day. The beach location is located right in the heart of all the bar and sandwich shacks on the beach. Most places had decent lunch menus and great drink varieties. Most water sports are available within a short distance for an additional fee. All in all we had a great time and would recommend Cap Caraibes for future stays.
