Great Budget/Extended Stay Hotel

Honestly, I have no complaints about this hotel. We arrived about 4 hours earlier than check-in time and promptly greeted by ... a friendly front desk employee who allowed us to check in early. Our room was extremely clean and had all the amenities we needed and more. It's basically a studio apartment! We rented a car, and it took us less than 10 minutes to drive where we wanted to go including South Congress and Downtown Austin (with minimal traffic). I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Just a short drive to Magnolia Cafe South. Laidback, inexpensive and delicious! South Congress shops and food vendors are great too (Visit the Hey Cupcake stand)! I highly recommend seeing the bats at the Congress Ave bridge. All just a short drive away.

My aunt and uncle always stay at the Candlewood when they visit us. This was my first time and I would definitely do it ... again. The bed was super comfortable and the bedding was not your typical hotel polyester grossness. The pillows were down (maybe down alternative), but super comfy, and again not what I would expect from this type of hotel. I was also please that they printed my boarding passes without charging me for it!

The folks at the front desk were fantastic! They held on to some packages that were shipped there before I arrived and ... shipped something for me after I left!

Clean but Smelly

Candlewood Suites, Austin TX 1. Entry into the room was a shock. The smell was like a Rest Home. Both rooms. 2. The ... thermostat in my room was not working great, so I changed rooms with no trouble. 3. I found out that when you leave to a movie, eat or anything,the A/C shuts off. You return to an uncomfortable room. Something about motion sensors on the thermostat. 4. No breakfast at this place, but IHOP is just up the street. 5. The bed, shower and everything else was great. Watch out for the Towels if you have sensitive skin, they are very rough.

Bed & pillows way too soft. No pool! Controlled AC didn't work well. It would only come on when we were in the room & it ... took forever to cool the room down. Nights were very quiet. Free movies & CD's great to have available. Mini store in hotel nice addition. Full kitchen very nice amenity. Very nice to be able to do laundry for free.
