Food poisoning and no internet
Sick in Mexico Nov 16, 2009
I stayed at the Camino for 2 weeks during a recent business trip to Mexico City. There is no free internet in the hotel. ... They charge $225 peso ($20US) a day for internet in the room that is provided over a 10MB lan. Pityful. In addition I was violently ill from a meal in the hotel restaraunt. I travel to Mexico City often and have never had challanges like this. I will never go back to the Camino.

[...] It is quite noisy (this time with the sounds of hammers and drills throughout the night)and twice I have had no hot ... water in the shower or sink even after running the tap for 20 minutes. Am I placed in this area of the hotel because I am paying a lower rate than what they usually charge??? I probably wouldn't want to stay there again except that it is very convenient when one has a 5:50am flight out of Mexico City.

Overnight Stay
travellin' man Aug 12, 2009
This was just an overnight stay on our way out of Mexico. It is just a walk across the overpass to go between the airport and ... the hotel. It was late at night, we went to the lobby lounge and had a couple of drinks before getting some sleep. We entertained the lounge band with our dancing (they were playing to a virtually empty house and there is no dance floor). Good food and good service.

Sunny Jul 21, 2009
Very tiny room, window does not open, AC was quite loud. Shower head spraying water everywhere. Not all rooms with internet ... connection. Had to re-set door key every time I left the room. Food was cold. They couldn't find my reservation, even after giving them the confirmation number.

Great hotel, shame about the bar band!
DrBob Jun 20, 2009
Everything was great, except that the band in the hotel bar was VERY loud and not very good. It kept me from getting to ... sleep, which is really annoying when you have to get up at 4 am to make a flight! I left the same comments on the form they put in my room, I do hope they act on it, because other than that the hotel was really great.

Very safe
Helen May 1, 2009
The hotel was great and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The only thing I did not like was that I arrived after 2 ... p.m. for check out and could not get into my room, I had to have a security guard come with me to my room and I had to show him ID, I guess they do that to keep the guests and their belongings safe. Another good thing about it is that it is close to the airport and they offer transportation to and from the airport. I would definitely go back to that hotel.

Great for Airport Overnight
Barbara Mar 3, 2009
We arrived late from a domestic flight from Cancun and had a very early flight the next morning for the US. The hotel was ... very close to Mexicana's domestic arrivals, and our late-night check-in was done quickly and efficiently (contrary to prior postings I read). The room was great; clean, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, etc. and very quiet. The only thing I didn't realize was that it was a bit of a hike to the International Mexicana check-in area for our flight the next morning. We had to walk and walk (with 2 young/tired kids) and got a little stressed as we anticipated the distance being similar to that of the domestic area. (and the counters were really busy at 6am!) That said, I would definitely stay in the hotel again and would recommend it!

Good Airport Access
Carol Jo Jul 15, 2008
We chose Camino Real Aeropuerto because we had very early departure times the next morning and wanted to be close to the ... airport. It was perfect for this, as both terminals are attached to the hotel, eliminating the need for a shuttle. We had a very long wait to check in - about 1/2 hour, which I didn't experience on my prior visit, so it was maybe due to a glitch in the system and/or a lot of people with problems. Our room was a tiny bit smoky, but the bedding was OK - fresh and clean. There was ample storage space and a luxurious bathroom. Because we had such an early departure, we didn't use any of the amenities. In a similar situation, we would stay here again.

Good Location
Willaim Mar 31, 2008
I stayed at this hotel during a 16 hour layover in Mexico City. The hotel is attached to one of the terminals via a walking ... bridge for easy airport access. The room was clean and nice and the staff speak perfect English. The dining is elegant and the food was superb, but is wasn't cheap. Beverages from the mini-bar cost about 50 pesos or 5 dollars each.
