walk to State St. or the pier
--murphy, long beach,ca Aug 21, 2009
If you have to walk to State Street via Castillo and Bath, don't do it at night or alone. Don't walk past the park at night; alone in the daytime seems to be okay.

Great boutique hotel
cafn8me May 25, 2009
What a great little hotel! The best part about staying at non chain hotels is the perks you get. With this one, there was ... wine and cheese in the afternoon, continental breakfast and milk and cookies in the evening--all for free! Plus, free cable and TONS of DVDs you could borrow from the front desk. Very cute rooms. My only beefs with this place are the location: although not too bad of a walking distance from the beach, it's next to a park filled with homeless people. Getting to State Street on foot, you have to pass through a sketchy little neighborhood known for housing rehabbed drug addicts. Other beef is the peeling wallpaper throughout. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend!

Like a Nice Motel
vjh May 10, 2009
Just spent one night there. We had a suite, so it was a nice size, but bathroom needed updating and wallpaper was peeling off ... the walls. It had a kitchen which would be nice for a family and/or longer stay. Breakfast was very good.

TELEVISIONS ARE NOT THE ONLY THING I RATE A HOTEL ON, BUT ANCIENT TV'S WITH BLURRY IMAGE AND BAD SOUND ARE ANNOYING AND ... DEFINITELY SHOULD BE UP-DATED. IT IS JUST THAT IT IS AN OLD PLACE AND THEY HAVE TRIED TO UP-DATE THE PLACE, BUT NOT WITH MUCH SENSE OF QUALITY OR DESIGN.

My review of Brisas del Mar Inn at the Beach
Roy Nov 18, 2008
Great casual weekend. The room was like a mini apartment in that we had a suiet. Iliked the fact that we had a full sized ... kitchen. We took full advantage of the frig and microwave. The wine and cheese was a nice treat after a day of sightseeing. The beech was a short walk away and althou it was mid Nov, the weather was 75-80 degrees. We loved the weather and the hotel.

The staff were very friendly, and the hotel is in an excellent location close to all the downtown Santa Barbara sites and the ... beach. The rooms are good size, but older that more modern hotels. It is a good place to stay if you are not looking for a resort. Ggood bargin in Santa Barbara. The free Internet was nice to have. The pool was very nice and clean.

All the restaurants and shopping on State Street is a short drive or long walk. We did dine at the Opal Restaurant on State Street near the old Arlington Theater and it was very good, and had unique dishs covering all types of cuisine.

Great weekend getaway
Darryl Mar 4, 2008
The Brisas del Mar at the Beach has very comfortable rooms and great ammenities and is a short block from the beach. The ... outside of the hotel is very Spanish looking and looks like it was recently redone. The rooms are very country inn in style and don't match the exterior at all(?). The king bed was very comfortable and the in room amenities were great. A really nice touch is the complimentary breakfast, wine and cheese and fresh baked cookies each day. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the grounds were well kept as well.

Santa Barbara is a very beautiful place. Brisas del mar Inn has a great location, close to the beach and close to downtown. ... The staff were very helpful in finding us very good restaurents and sights. The room was very large with a complete kitchen. This would be great with families with children or extended stays. The continental breakfast was very nice. Wine and cheese and cookies and milk were also served. It gave us an opportunity to meet other travelers.

Romantic Get Away
Shelley Dec 16, 2007
This was a surprise for my husband and upon arriving we were greeted with extremely friendly staff and complementary wine and ... cheese. They also gave us a coupon for a free appetizer at a local restaurant; of which we fully took advantage and we were extremely satisfied with their recommendation. Coming back to the hotel they had left a couple of nice surprises since they knew this was a special occasion. We were only there for one day so we did not have time to take advantage of all the amenities, but we will return and stay longer. I would definitely recommend this place to any one looking for a romantic get away.

Great Value for the Area
Ann Sep 21, 2007
The Brisas Del Mar was very comfortable and we loved that there was a good continental breakfast, wine and cheese in the ... afternoon and milk and cookies at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions for restaurants and activities. We would have liked more closet space and a bigger shower but there was a separate dressing room with mirror and vanity counter. We will likely go there again.

Great Hotel, Good Location, Good Price!
Joey Jun 22, 2007
The Brisas Del Mar in Santa Barbara is a great little hotel located within walking distance from West Beach. They have decent ... sized rooms with a small bathroom and a vanity adjacent to the bathroom. The rooms are modest. Not a grand hotel, but convenient and fairly centrally located to many spots in Santa Barbara if you don't mind taking a 10-15 minute walk. They also have complimentary breakfast and a nice little pool if you desire to take a swim. Overall, my wife and I were very happy with our stay there.

We dined at the Enterprise Fish Co. Great fish entrees, but expect to spend a few $$$$. And it started picking up around 7pm, so get there before then. Also the Tacone grill locate in the Mall downtown on State Street is a great place to grab lunch and go shopping.
