Worst hotel, Best location
Mano Nov 10, 2009
I stayed for two nights in Nov '09. Only good thing about the hotel is the location. Just 2 minutes walk to south beach and ... night becomes a happening place just infront of the hotel near the beach walk. If you are with your family never stay here. If you are single or a couple and want to use the hotel only for sleeping during the night then its OK. If you don't have a car probably you can stay here considering the price. The Lift, Hotel office, Room everyting is pathetic. I still can't believe such pathetic hotels exist in America. One more advise ... Never ever eat at sea cafe (The restaurant below Hotel Boulevard) Cheers

The bureau needed replacing; It had particle chips in it, with sharp edges that could be hazardous. The carpet was ... disgusting. Really disgusting. The sheets were so thin I could read the mattress tag through it. It was tolerable. Definitely wouldn't be my choice for my next stay in South Beach.

I choose to to eat at other restarantes rather than in the hotel. I hate when you use gimmicks to get me to eat in your hotel.Ex. the breakfast was $7.99 the orange juice was $13.00. First of all, who pays $13 for a glass of orange juice. My breakfast bill was $26. It happened only once while I was their that I bought breakfast or any other food.

"Thanks, but No Thanks."
Tony C. Oct 16, 2009
The best thing that I liked was how they kept the room clean. The furniture was old and chipped at the bottom of the dresser. ... The lobby is small and they kept a luggage rack by the elevator the whole week I was their. On Wednesday I showed one of the waiters wires that was just hanging out of this vent by the elevator. She looked at me like I was crazy. I had a slight run-in over the weekend with one of the ladies who fixes the drink. I wanted ice and she made me wait until someone finally got the ice for me. Here is the solution for this problem: don't be cheap, but invest in ice machines for each floor and that will eliminate the problems. I will not be going back to this Hotel.

THE HOTEL WAS IN THE HEART OF SOUTH BEACH IN THE HEART OF SOUTH BEACH. UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS NOT THE BEST. I BELIEVE IT WAS ... THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO BESIDES A MOTEL. THE WORST WAS THE DUSTBALLS IN THE ROOM ALONG WITH SOME SPECS OF WHITE THINGS LIKE DANDRUFF ON THE FLOOR AND ON THE CHAIRS IN THE ROOM. ALSO THE TOWELS AND WASH CLOTHS WERE VERY THIN AND DINGY LOOKING. AFTER THE 1ST NIGHT, I WENT AND BOUGHT MY OWN. OH I FORGOT TO MENTION MY ROOM WAS NOT READY AND I HAD TO WAIT 30 MINS OR SO. THEY DIDN'T EVEN OFFER ME A GLASS OF WATER. ALSO TOO, I HAD TO CHANGE MY ROOM BECAUSE THE TOILET WAS NOT WORKING AND WAS RUNNING WATER WHICH WAS VERY ANNOYING.

This is the second time I stay at the Boulevard. All you need in Miami is somewhere to shower, leave your luggage, and sleep ... a couple of hours in lol. The hotel is from, like, 1988. So, understandably, it's not in the best condition. I'm the type that goes to SoBe to lay on the beach and party all night. You can't beat the hotel's location for that price (under $100). It's just about right next to Wet Willies and a few blocks from Clevelander, Mangoes, and Mansion. The people in the front desk are nice and helpful. Besides the hotel not being in the best shape, I have no complaints.

Great hotel for the low price. It's a small but it has a bathroom, bed, and tv, which is all I need. What's great is the ... location, it's two doors down from Wet Willies and right on the strip (Ocean Drive). Even better in that it's literally across the street from the beach. I would definitely come back to this hotel again.

"Good Location, Bad Room"
AngieG Sep 8, 2009
We mainly went to South Beach for the beach, shopping, and nightlife. Therefore, the location of the hotel was absolutely ... perfect! We were able to leave our room in the a.m., enjoy breakfast on the sidewalk, and cross the street to go to the beach. Now as far as being romantic, no way! The room was extremely small, and dirty, dirty, dirty! The towels were stained, as well as the pillow cases and sheets. The comforter had cigarette burnholes and iron burnmarks on it and hair from who knows who. We ended up just taking it off the bed and throwing it in the closet. There was hair in the shower (not from us) and two people could not be in the bathroom at the same time it was so small. Outside our room window was an alley that had two dumpsters right up against our window. All day/night long all we heard was beer bottles and trash being thrown in it, and drunk people taking short cuts through the alley. The ceiling fan squeaked the whole time it was on as well as shook like it was gonna fall out of the ceiling! We asked the front desk for shampoo around 4am because we we're getting ready to leave to catch our flight and they said they didn't have any and the maids were the only ones who had access to the toiletries and they weren't there at that time (whatever). All and all, the location was the only good thing about this hotel.

We decided to rent a car to get us from the airport to the hotel on Ocean Drive. However, we didn't realize that the City charges us $22 a day to park. Everything is basically in walking distance and we never used the car at all while we were there until it was time to drive back to the airport. So basically we paid $100 to rent a car for 3 days, and $66 to valet is for 3 days when we could've just took a taxi to and from the airport which would've probably been much cheaper.

South Beach First-Timer Aug 25, 2009
Location, location, location - The Boulevard is situated in the heart of Ocean Drive on South Beach - absolutely unbeatable. ... Lots of people, restaurants, etc, and the beach is literally across the street. Downside - the rooms are small, very average, if not a little below average. But if you're coming to party, maybe have some friends nearby (I did, in a much better room!), and don't plan on being in the hotel much at all anyway, Boulevard is the place to stay! It definitely served its purpose, and the staff there are really nice too. By the way, GREAT PRICES!!!

Doesn't belong on Ocean Drive
South Beach Vacationer Aug 15, 2009
I travel to South Beach Maybe 2-3 times a year and I have stayed at the best of the best on Ocean Drive and Collins Ave. This ... has got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The room was that clean, the television was broken maybe because it was about 20yrs old. The experience of being in this hotel was a downer. So for the record my fellow travelers good rooms are not cheap and cheap rooms are not always good. I would NEVER stay here again nor would I recommend this place to anyone not even my enemies.

The hotel was in a perfect location, right across from the beach. Easy two minute walk from hotel to beach. The rooms are ... air conditioned and comfortable. If you plan on just using the room to shower and sleep then its perfect. If you are expecting the Ritz then you are sadly mistaken. The carpet had some stains, the bed sheets had some stains, the towels were rough but for the most part the room was great. You only get 8 channels on the TV but who needs tv when you are enjoying the beautiful beach.

You will be doing a lot of walking in South Beach so come prepared with comfortable shoes. I would recommend stashing a pair of flip flops in your purse when you go to the clubs because your feet will hurt after walking around all day and standing in line in heels. I learned this lesson the painful way on the first night and had to leave the club early because my feet were swollen! Always keep a pair of flip flops handy.
