During our one-night stay, we enjoyed the dry sauna, and the restaurant-bar that was on-site. The hotel has live bands ... perform at the bar. Friendly atmosphere. Nice breakfast..including a waffle maker...in the restaurant/bar area. Hotel short drive to Pearl Street--a great place to shop, and eat. Great Value overall.

Old Holiday Inn Revamped - sort of
Juiceguy Sep 17, 2009
I was in Boulder for business with short notice and needed a hotel room that was close to downtown. The price was right, but ... you get what you pay for. This is, as I found out later, an old 1960's Holiday Inn and the room decor hadn't changed much in nearly 50 years. I had planned to have dinner in the restaurant at the hotel but it is also a very loud live entertainment bar with a $10 cover. I just went to the Dark Horse for dinner/drinks. Overall, not a bad hotel - and is eco friendly, but not at all what I expected.

Convenient, Clean, Fantastic Service!
AZKITTY Aug 26, 2009
When I booked, I had no idea where in Boulder I was staying. We were moving my son to the University of Colorado from PA. ... For us, there was no better location. A short walk and we were at my son't dorm. The hotel is very enviromentally friendly. Recycling bins in all rooms and nearby for larger items. Even though the Outlook Hotel is on an extremely busy street, we heard NO traffic noise. The rooms are a bit small, (we were in a double) but extremely clean. The linens were soft, beds were comfortable and the staff was great. Indoor pool was lovely. Fitness room was small, but had what I needed. We've already booked a room for our next visit. Not a real lavish hotel, but neither am I.

Fast food is a short walk, but take the short drive to Pearl Street or the 29th St. Mall - lots of shops and dining choices.

Hotel is great. Only 2 small drawbacks. 1) It's a little far from Pearl Street walking mall, which means you'll have to pay ... to park (and find a space--no fun) or bike in. The hotel has bikes available, but we didn't find out whether they charge (bikes are provided by a local realtor). 2) rooms which face the pool are a bit noisy and lots of folks walk by the window. If you draw the curtain for more privacy, the room is pretty dark. The pool hours are not excessive, however, so this was not a big nuisance. We have stayed at The Outlook twice and would happily stay there again.

Adequate for the price
Beepbeep Jul 1, 2009
A 5 minute walk from CU, the hotel is clean and looks very nice. The staff is friendly and attentive. Each room as its own ... recycling bin and you have a choice of whether or not to waste paper on a receipt. The rooms were not spectacular but adequate. however, the walls are thin. I could hear TV from one room, a guy on his phone in another, and a person using the bathroom from a third. Everything quieted down around midnight, which is when I sleep anyway, so it didn't affect me too much.

Great location to CU Boulder
Cu Boulder Orientation Stay Jun 27, 2009
We were attending the CU Boulder Orientation and needed a hotel in walking distance to the campus. Unfortunately, we were not ... completely satisfied with our chosen accommodations. In my opinion the hotel was average and pricey for the room accommodations offered. This hotel did not take our state employee discount. The bathroom door had a hole in it (in spite of the advertised recent room renovations). I felt the safety of this room was lacking. The recliner chair provided was broken. The windows did not have screens on them. If you were to open the windows (we were on the second floor), a child could fall out. There was not a microwave oven in the room and that would have been nice for a late night snack. Although the room has air conditioning, the hall corridors did not, which left a "musty" smell to them leaving an uncleanly impression. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful in finding a near by convenient store. The hotel was not noisy allowing a good nights sleep. Most of the basic amenities were provided, coffee maker, small refrigerator, shampoo, blow dryer, lotion, iron/board, towels and soap. It would have been nice to have cream rinse and a microwave oven in the room. This hotel has dinning availability with entertainment. If my stay was longer than one evening, I would have looked for another hotel due to the price, (If the cost is not an issue, than it would suffice).

There is an under road tunnel leading to the CU Boulder campus, so you do not need to enter traffic to get to the campus.

Star Trek mom Jun 17, 2009
The best things were that it was close to my mom's house and the price was right. But I applaud their zero waste policy and ... the natural food choices in the restaurant. We had some plumbing problems and the place is showing its age a bit, but those are nitpicks. It's a great place to stay.

Property reflects Boulder's unique side
Lizz May 22, 2009
This trip, we were only looking for comfy beds (which we found) at the best price, as we expected to spend little time at the ... motel. We chose this property on the recommendation of locals. We were disappointed to be put on the second floor, without a working elevator (what they have is more like a chair lift), which limited my husband's ability to take advantage of the property (recovering from knee surgery). The lift was on when we arrived, but we never found it working again. Also, the hot tub was difficult to get in (no steps). I'm curious why this property, which is VERY eco-conscious, pays so little attention to handicap travlers? Our room had some repair issues, which were addressed within hours of informing the front desk. The pool is warm and very enjoyable - but I would have enjoyed it more if the hours were longer. The business center has a printer, a great extra! The breakfast hot dish was funny tasting scrambled eggs, but plenty of bread, fruit, and cereal choices. The staff was very helpful. Overall, this is a great place for a family who will spend time at the motel, with it's pool, fitness, and rock climb area. They have entertainment in the restaurant/lounge most nights for those who want to imbibe and enjoy. The Outlook was a bit pricey for our needs this trip, as we did not expect to take advantage of their extras - but, thanks to Orbitz, we were able to find an acceptable deal.

great hotel for a football weekend
Judy Oct 19, 2008
The Boulder Outlook was a wonderful surprise. We knew it wasn't a chain so we weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly ... surprised. The staff was very warm and welcoming, even though we were supporting the other team! At night the bar is a wonderful blues venue. Great music and service. Breakfast was very good including organic milkk, yougurt and peanut butter! Choices were better than most. We will definetly stay again. We could walk to the football game and this was great since parking is limited.
