Honeymooners Paradise
Gilmors Aug 16, 2009
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We spent our honeymoon in Barbados and had a great time. We spent some time on ... the beach and swimming in the ocean, which is a great location, but they also have great pools. The highlight of our trip was a catamaran cruise. We chose Calabaza Sailing Cruises as they only take 12 or less people at a time. On our particular cruise there was only 4 people, and we felt like we were on a private yacht! I also recommend Adventureland 4x4 tours and request Gline as your tour guide as he's amazing. Overall, our trip was amazing as was Bougainvillea Beach Resort! [...] and [...] at Buoni Amici are amazingly friendly and great people. Also the bell boy, [...] was super friendly and very informative. I highly recommend Bougainvillea :)

Great location right near the Gap
jeff Mar 31, 2009
This hotel is a great place for a Caribbean vacation! The beach is excellent, the rooms are large, and the pools are quite ... nice. Our room came with a kitchenette (microwave, stove, fridge, utensils and cookware), so we were able to stock up on some basic food and drink at the local market. Barbados gets a lot of English visitors, and we were there during an English school holiday so it was packed with families. Even then the place was fun and the swim up bar was great. The place has 2 restaurants - one has Bajan food and one was Italian. Both were good but not great. However, there are some great places in St. Lawrence Gap and closer to the airport, which was a great break from the resort. The activities desk was also great - we did a turtle watching sailing day - they got it all set up for us with no hassle. We did sign up for kiteboarding (Barbados is a hub of kiteboarding and windsurfing), however the winds were too "big" for us beginners!

St. Lawrence Gap is a long walk or a short taxi away, and is the center of nitelife for southern Barbados!

The Studioroom seemed larger than most with the large couch, that can accomodate a third person (child). I liked the fact ... that the bathroom had a sink with a long counter and that there was soap and conditioner provided in shower and bath. The location was very good -- it is directly on the beach; the GAP where you can find nightlife as well as some fine dinner opportunities are close by.
