Good location on Kenmore Square. The hotel is pretty basic with few amenities. The free internet connection lasted one hour ... as "free trial" and after that it was $10/day. Parking is $18. The walls let a lot of sound through. Breakfast was average. No counter space in the bathroom. It's a cool old building though.

Nicer than expected...Suite upgrade!
Ali J Oct 20, 2009
At the price we paid, I did not expect a lot form this hotel. Surprisingly, we were upgraded to a suite. The room was ... spacious & clean. The hotel staff was friendly & informative. And the continental breakfast was tasty. I will be back.

Down the block from Fenway Field-easy to get to from the T-Green line. Get off Kenmore, take a left at the street level, down one block and you are at the Hotel; another block up, you are at the field. Be aware that after the game , if your room faces the street, you will hear the fan crowd noise as they enter/exit the sport bars along the street. However, as we discovered, there are inner rooms that do not face the street and are very quiet

The Mass T-stop system will get you anywhere- even up to the north seaboard area for fresh lobster.

The neighborhood is quiet and also very near the subway terminal. However some of the lights are broken. The body cleanser ... also seems to be used not new.

Buckminster Hotel in Boston

stayed the one night after a Red Sox game- location to the park and to the T was excellent. Our room was available before ... check-in time which allowed us to rest and cool down after a hot day of traveling before going out again. Staff friendly and enjoyed the free continental breakfast. Would definitely stay for the one night again, certainly adequate/acceptable for our needs

There for the MIT graduation. 1 block from the Kenmore T-stop and then zip across the Charles to campus. We also were able to ... just walk over the bridge to MIT. Right next to Fenway park and activities. Quick continental breakfast, ironing boards and computer center. We liked the old (refurbished) feel of the hotel.

Not for the hotel snobby
Dont go to boston to drink Mar 26, 2009
If you are a hotel snob this is not the hotel for you. Its pretty basic with a friendly staff. The biggest down side is you ... have NO control over the temp in your room. Our room was so hot we were sweating. We finally got the window to open and then the room became bareable. If you are a ball fan, or need to go to BU this is a close hotel. The location was great for fenway and the college and surround by decent bars. The rooms are wicked small. and the shower didnt drain. We were in town to see a concert so the hotel worked, I will stay there again just make sure i got a room with a window that opens and faces fenway.

Who ever said Boston is a drinking town never tried to drink there. The bars close early at 1 a.m so you have to start the night off pretty early.
