This was nice enough for the weekend trip. The pool was a small spa pool, which is fine but it needed to be cleaned. It ... would be nice to have bar service at the pool. Our room was small and neat. The carpet was old and looked dirty. If that is replaced, then I would have nothing bad to say about the room. I love that they provided the beach chairs and towels.

unhappy stay
made man Oct 3, 2009
room was very small didn't have a microwave in the rm. had other guest fighting and shouting in hallway @ 1:51am in the ... morning while me and my wife trying to sleep. The next day while me and the wife trying to make the best of the trip, the hotel started painting in the next rm to us with fumes coming into rm and hallway.Didn't have shower caps for my wife. also for breakfast was bad they didn't have any hot foods only waffles which you had to make yourself. Carpets in room not clean and paint peeling off the walls. while me and the wife trying to relax, hotel staff comes and knocks on door to see if we use any of the hotel snacks & drinks which they charge you anyway if used. hotel room didn't have any cable channels at all. The only good time we had was outside of the hotel. Plus charges 7.00$ a day for snacks which you only got peanut butter crackers & juice, also 5.95$ to use the internet. no happy hour just 5.00$ off your bill for drinks @ the bar each day. you had to go outside the hotel to enjoy yourself.

You get what you pay for
Unimpressed Sep 16, 2009
The location of the Blue Moon Hotel is great but we arrived a bit early after departing our cruise and the staff would not ... let anyone check-in early. A line quickly formed in the lobby and they were backed up on check-ins because they would not start check-in even 5-10 minutes early. I will say the continental breakfast is one of the best I've had in South Beach but the unfriendly staff and not-so-clean bathroom were enough to turn me away from staying there again. You get what you pay for...

great hotel, great location
gino Aug 29, 2009
my girlfriend and i spent a few days in miami beach on vacation and the blue moon hotel was wonderful. i chose this hotel ... because it was the cheapest four-star hotel right on the beach itself. the blue moon is a very attractive hotel; i'm a big fan of the art-deco styling. our room was clean and very comfortable, except that there wasn't much table or drawer space available. also, the in-room refridgerator is useless because it is filled to capacity with mini-bar items that can be purchased around the corner for a fraction of the price. besides that, our stay was excellent. this was definitely the best vacation of my life.

If there were no ant problem, 4 stars
endeaneyes Aug 28, 2009
the staff was great and the room was good for the price. My only issue is that I kept seeing really small ants in our room. I ... contacted the manager who confirmed that they were ants and what they were specifically called. He then stated that he has them in his home as well and that in order for them to get rid of the ants they would have to close the hotel down and they are not willing to do such. It would be a great place to stay if the ant situation was taken care of; that was my only issue. If you decide to stay here make sure you shake your clothes upon checkout! Oh yeah the bar tender was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!

Better than expected
VEUS Jul 30, 2009
I booked the hotel for so little money that I had very low expectations. The staff is friendly, the hotel clean and the rooms ... modern, small but clean. I stayed in a room in the back, so it was very quiet for South Beach. The breakfast was good but not excellent although I was charged $7 extra for the amenities. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was our first time together in Miami, and I selected Blue Moon based on the positive reviews. In this case, the reviews ... did not disappoint. From the friendly staff, to the breakfast buffet, to the clean and nice rooms; this hotel is terrific! I will be staying there again on our next trip.

The rooms were small and the a/c wasn't the strongest but it was mostly clean and quiet. The front desk staff was pleasant ... and helpful. We were able to walk to dining, entertainment, shopping and the beach within minutes. They offer a 1/2 day rate at a reasonable price if you have a late flight out.

Very good deal!
Juli Jun 6, 2009
I was with a friend on vacations. The location of the hotel is perfect. Just in the heart of Miami Beach. A block away from ... all the restaurants in Ocean Dr. and the shops in Collins Av. Parking in the streets its complicated, and the hotel valet parking was a little bit expensive, but we parked in a public garage at Collins and 7th, just 2 blocks away, so it was good (24hs = $20). Breakfast at the hotel was not included, but just for $4 per person per day you could have a good deal to have breakfast there. I recommend it. The rooms were good, nice and clean, and not very noisy. Overall, it was a very good deal.

the room looked NOTHING like the website photos, which is why i chose the hotel. it was a nice room but very noisy - the ... walls must be thin. the valet was one of the most expensive on the beach and i told them so. it was a decent room for the price and if you want to be in the middle of things, this is your place.

Watch out for hidden costs!
Young World Traveler Apr 22, 2009
About half the staff were friendly while the other half were decidedly unfriendly, which was a shame. One expects to be ... welcomed on arrival, not attacked with additional fees. Sometimes when we asked for things like beach chairs, we were stared at like it was a wild request, even though we had paid the $7 daily fee for "amenities" which included the beach chair rental (with an additional $20 per chair deposit), and discounts at some local businesses (why do they think that coupons are "amenities"?). The daily "amenity" fee annoyed me b/c it was an unexpected addition to the price quoted by orbitz. Also unexpected was the $25/day parking fee. Take those extra costs into consideration when choosing a hotel. One with free parking would save you $25 a day if you're bringing a car. The breakfast options were mostly sugar and starch (waffles, muffins, sweetened yogurt), not much in the way of healthy options or protein (although they did have hard boiled eggs). The location was perfect, close to the action, but on a quiet block. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but were annoyed that we ended up paying more than we excpected.

Our first trip to Miami
Melissa Sep 7, 2008
The Blue Moon Hotel was everthing we could have wished for! The hotel staff were super friendly and were extremely ... accomodating! The continental breakfast was amazing (you have to pay $7.49 a day for breakfast, beach towels, etc.)I would definately recommend this hotel for your Miami visit. It's a block away from the beach, 2 blocks from shopping, and 1 block away from Ocean Drive where all the fun is.

1. Mangos was fun place to drink, the staff would take turns dancing. I've never seen anything like it. 2. The Delano hotel was a great place to go relax while laying on the beds drinking along the edge of the huge pool. It was so beautiful. 3. We rented a scooter for two days it was so fun. It makes it way easier to get around.
