Non-Smoing Room...HAH!!!
Unmarried Katie Oct 26, 2009
[...] It was completely horrible! Even my clean clothes that I didn't wear came out reeking with cigarette smoke! For a ... non-smoking room, why do they put matches and an ashtray in the room? The only good thing about it was the location. Close to the freeway, and easy to get the hell out of there. Plus it took an hour to check in. My fiance had discussed using this trip to elope. Well, this hotel stay put the brakes on that idea. Thanks a lot Binions!!!

Very convenient Hotel
timeouters! Oct 24, 2009
The room was reasonably comfortable, however, there were bathroom plumbing issues, such as clogged sink and leaking pipes, ... etc... The TV was an ancient or antique piece, one from this century would've have been a good start. Also a business center would be very useful or atleast provide internet access, but overall, it was good for the value...but the maids should note plumbing issues and report it.

What do you expect for $25.00?
kythumper23 Sep 16, 2009
Looking for a cheap place to stay, and that is what we got. The shower head was so clogged with hard water it barely sprayed, ... there was duct tape on the carpet to hold it down, and there was a funky smell. But, for $25.00, it was a place to sleep.

Nice for the Price

We had a major problem in the room the first night, they could not move us the hotel was booked. The next day they upgraded ... us to a mini suite. Everyone was nice and great customer service was fantasic. The hotel was nice the resturant was good. The room were good for the price and our needs. Its not like we were really ever in the room expect to sleep and shower they were fine. The sutie was better but the regular room was good.

You need to go see the Gordie Brown show he was the best act we saw while we were there. I had seen him twice before and took a group of ten the next day. My husband didnt want to go because I had seen him twice but I told him I dont mind to trust me you will love the show and if you dont there is something wrong with you. Well he laughed from the time he got on stage til the time he left the stage. You will not be disappointed but get tickets at Tix4tonite. there really isnt a bad seat in th house.

Short Stay in Las VegAS
carlpak Sep 14, 2009
We did enjoy the how close our room was to the Fremont street experience, and we had a great steak dinner for $5.99 each. The ... room was ok for the price, but I was amused that I had to fix the TV in order to get good reception. The other thing that was odd is I was charged a $50.00 cash deposit at check in that was returned when I checked out.

Great Hotel
Mari & Chip Sep 7, 2009
This was my first trip to Vegas and I had a great time at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We signed up ... for the players club and earned lots of Comp stuff. They had great deals on dinning and the food was awesome. We will stay there again on our next trip. The Fremont experience was right outside the hotel. Just an amazing place to stay. the only complaint I had was the pool closed before dark, so we couldn't get to the roof to take pictures of everything all lite up.

This is an older hotel in the downtown area of vega$. Upon check in we were told that our room (reservation) "had been ... given" to someone else. The gentleman at the front desk ([...]) was great, personable and friendly. They gave us an upgrade (JR suite) for the same price. The hotel is OLD, rooms are outdated, and it needs to be remodeled; but the staff make up for it - from front desk personnel, dealers, cleaning staff and even the security guards EVERYONE is friendly and helpful. The people that work at this hotel really enjoy working there and they are GREAT!

Don't miss the various singles and groups that entertain visitors during the evening. And try to make time to see ALL of the showings of the Freemont Street Experience - it's well worth your time. Wonderful!!
--A Happy Couple, AZ Jul 30, 2009
Public transportation is excellent. The buses run frequently although very crowded at time. IF over 60, disabled, or a student, walk to the downtown terminal and get the discount card. It's issued on the spot, and took less time than the walk there. With the card, 3 day unlimited passes were $7.50. Bus travel from downtown to Excalibur may take 45-50 minutes so relax and enjoy the view from these double decker buses. Definitely did not need a rental car, and I "visited" over 30 casino's during my 7 day stay. Comfortable shoes and socks required. No "and's, if's, or blisters" about that. Be prepared to walk. Many places you can go from casino to casino without going outside, or a very short outside walk. Coupons! Save lot's of money, get free slot play or match play too. Do your internet homeowork and buy the two "coupon books" on the market. Just the 'free' slot play alone will perhaps pay for you visit when you sign up for the numerous player clubs and use 'good' coupons. Couple the gambling coupons with the 2 for 1 or 50% off buffets, etc, and it has to be a "win-win" situation. That is the reason I visited so many casino's, and I paid for my trip by doing so. (But it's is almost work for the 2 2/1 days it took me)

Go have an omelet at the Omelet House Cafe in the Plaza at the end of Fremont Street. Best meal in town! The omelets are fabulous, the pumpkin bread to die for, the staff was great and fast. You have to have the 99cent shrimp cocktail (with their players card) at the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino too. Gambling was good and paid off at the Golden Gate Casino too.

The hotel has a coffee shop that has good food, though not great. There is also an upscale steakhouse and several small coffee/snack shops inside the hotel. There is also easy access to restaurants and cafes in other hotels along Freemont Street.
