Bills had everything we needed without a big price tag. How nice to go to your room up the elevator and not have to walk ... half a block to your room. Small, quiet, and fun. We will stay again.

VEGAS BEST KEPT SECRET

Would recommend to a friend!

I have always enjoyed the smaller hotels and have returned to them over the years. I am now 81 and Bill's was just perfect, ... friendly caring staff. I was even given a strip side room and my window looked directly out on the Eiffel Tower at Paris Hotel and I could see The Bellagio Foundains at night. The staff planned it that way. They "watched" over me. Security is just excellent. Food in Victorian Room is good, did not try steakhouse. I would recommend this hotel highly for the senior traveler. Rooms were super quiet. Very good FREE entertainment in the afternoons with BIG ELVIS, a very talanted entertainer who sounds just like Presley. This little hotel is a well kept Vegas secret

Saw the fountain show at the Bellagio, went to Paris, & took the Eiffel Tower elevator ride - (a great way to see all the beautiful neon lights of Vegas). Then we played the Slots at about 4 hotels, all this in one evening!Better take good walking shoes!!Had lots of fun - a real Happening place!

Some hotels have special deals to save on buffets all day for one price. Check around to find out which ones.Just a short walk to the Flamingo, where you can use their pool.Go in late AM, as the pool is mostly shaded by about 2 or 3 pm.Casino at Bill's was smoky, & drink service wasn't very good, but all in all,we had a great time!

Recreation/Attractions hint, Short Drive

If you don't want to spend the many hours required to go visit the Grand Canyon but would still like to experience the beauty of the area, you can go visit Red Rock Canyon. It's only a short drive from Vegas (about 30 minutes from center Strip) and it offers a great scenic road as well as numerous hike options if you would like to discover it more up close... It is REALLY worth it because it truly is beautiful!

Rent a car instead of taking the bus tours. Free parking everywhere. For the cost of the Grand Canyon bus tour you can rent a car for a week. We enjoyed diving around to see some of the other sights and attractions.

I can't say enough about Bill's. The room was large, VERY CLEAN, comfortable and had cute western decor. There was a nice, ... large flatscreen tv and if you ask you might get a room upgrade with a viw of the strip and the Bellagio fountains. The hotel has great rates and the friendliest staff ever! My trip was for a conference at the Bellagio,I chose Bill's for its location in relation to the bellagio oh and for the great rates I guess i'm a cheapie!! Try Bill's for a clean, comfortable, and inexpensive stay in a great location on the strip in Las Vegas. You WON'T be dissapointed!!!!

The little hotel that could

Dave the USF Bulls fan Oct 11, 2009

Great location right in the middle of the strip. It's one of the older hotels and has a throwback vibe. For the price you ... can't beat it. The rooms were actually pretty big, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The great thing about it being small is you don't have to walk 3 mles to get in and out of your room. I would stay here again for sure! And the rooms have an HD flat screen TV too but who goes to vegas to watch TV but its a nice perk.

Bill's is the place to be

Lewie's Mom Oct 9, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

Bill's is located right in the heart of everything. It may be small but what more could a person ask for. The rooms were ... nice and wow the 40 inch flat screen tv in every room was an added bonus. Not that I spent a lot of time watching tv. The food at the Victorian Room was great especially the steak and eggs for $5.99. I just wish they offered it a little longer in the mornings. It was available from 12AM - 6AM. We ate there at 2 AM and it was great. Sorry to say that we did not get to eat at Bill's Steakhouse as it is only open from Thursday - Monday. I bet it would have been great too. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The cocktail waitresses were wonderful. I played the slots some and they were not loose. I changed up to table games and was very niave about these but all the dealers were nice and understanding teaching me. Just wish they would have a few more low limit tables as I was just learning and did not want to risk a lot of money at once. I bet others in this crazy economy would agree. Hey sometimes it pays to be cheap. I think that is why I enjoyed Bill's so much as the rates of other rooms located in the same area were much higher than mine. I would love to stay there again :)

Great Deal!

Singleandtravelingalone Sep 26, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The location is unbeatable...there is nowhere you can't reach easily on the strip. I don't know why everyone charges for ... internet but it was actually $14 a day not the $12 I was told at the front desk. Can't really complain for the price. The pool next door at the Flamingo is great, they even have a "top optional" pool which is nice primarily because you have to be over 21 to get in so no children. The coupon booklet given at check in was useful for $5 off at several buffet locations, including a couple that are highly rated. Be sure to go to "The Mix" nightclub at Mandaly Bay for the view. No need to buy a drink just be sure to look out both sides...a better view will not be found. Tried to add one more night (a Thursday night) and the price almost doubled so went elsewhere. The room I had was exactly like the one in the picture...no surprises and very clean. Bathroom is a little dated, but everything works so unless you just have to have the new, curvy style shower curtain rod, you will be fine. One thing, if you are very tall, the shower could be a problem as the shower head was about right for me at 5'7". Overall was great for the price and location and would absolutely stay again.

If time is not critical, buy a one day bus pass for $7. They drive up and down the strip all day (and maybe all night, not sure) but make a lot of stops.

Great value for your money!

R.T. Sep 18, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

I went to Las Vegas to celebrate my 21st birthday and chose to stay at Bill's Gamblin' Hall since it was extremely affordable ... and was in a prime location (mid strip). Upon check in, the front desk agent noticed that it was my birthday and gave me a complimentary upgrade to a room "with a view" and let me tell you, the view was amazing. I could see the (faux) Eifel tower and Bellagio fountains all from my window and it was absolutely fantastic. The first night there everything was fine; TV worked, AC was ice cold, etc. The second day there we noticed that the bathroom was infested with ants, not one ant or two ants but hundreds of ants. It appeared they got in through a crack in the caulk surrounding the bathtub. They were crawling all over the bathtub, shower curtain, and the walls. Not really wanting to cause a fuss or deal with the hassle of moving rooms we just dealt with it and washed as many of them down the shower drain that we could. Yes it was a little gross, but it was managable. If I had been staying at a more expensive hotel I would have complained, but since I wasn't paying much in the first place I just let it go. I'm sure not all rooms have an ant issue either, it was just a luck of the draw I guess. All in all, if you can do without the luxurious service and title of The "Bellagio" or The "Venetian" and just want a place to crash in an affordable, mid strip hotel, then this is the place to stay.

Victorian rooms & View were EXCELLENT!

Grandmother Sep 16, 2009

The location and the Victorian renovated rooms was one of the reasone we choose Bill's. We were not diasppointed!! The view ... from our 4th floor room had the Eiffel Tower and the Bellegio Water show which was Awesome! Flamingo right next door had a great buffet, Margaritaville and the Free Flamingo & Swan/Ducks Habitat. The Casino is noisy and needs updated, but that did not affect the rooms or the location. The Staff was always helpful.

Nice Rooms, Good Food, Lousy Service

Bill's Non-Gamblin' Guests Sep 11, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We chose Bill's based on prior recommendations from friends and family. We wanted a reasonably priced room in the middle of ... the strip. We are not gamblers so the casino was unimportant to us. We walked the strip from end to end just looking at the lights and sights, so the location was perfect for us. Bill's is owned by the Harrah's chain. It sits right in the middle of the strip between Bally's and the Flamingo and across from Caesar's Palace and Bellagio. Bill's doesn't have a pool, however guests can use the Flamingo pooly by showing their room key. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable for a hotel bed. Our view of the strip was nice. We could see the Bellagio Fountain and the Eiffel Tower from our window. We loved the large LCD flat screen TV. Wireless Internet was reasonably priced (for Vegas) for a 24-hour period and the connection speed was fast. The specials in the Victorian Room restaurant were very good and the portions were generous. Prime Rib dinner for $14.99. Steak & Egg breakfast for $5.99. You can't beat that! The downside is that the service from the staff was TERRIBLE !!! We have never seen such poor service. We waited over 25 minutes for a server to take our order. The server kept wandering by and talking to the hostess, but she never looked at us even though we were seated right next to the hostess station with our menus closed and poised on the edge of the table. During this time another couple was seated and eating before our server finally came around to take our order. They did not have our server. We ordered breakfast. One of us didn't want toast. The other did. When the server finally returned with our food, she had one serving of Toast. Great . . . something is finally doing right. She placed the toast on our table along with our meals, looked puzzled for a moment, then she snatched back the toast. She then took it over and gave it to another guest. We called the manager over and complained politely. We weren't looking for a free meal, and in fact, we refused the free meal when offered. But we did explain why we weren't leaving a tip for our server. We also asked the manager to counsel his staff and provide additional training if needed. At this point the server shows up with two orders of toast, but alas, our meal was nearly finished. A couple at another table overhead us talking to the manager and they called him over to relay the same basic complaint. After this our server hid in the back of the restaurant for the remainder of the time we spent there. We could see her standing back there doing, apparently, nothing. Our hostess had to retrieve the bill for us and for the other couple who also complained. How appalling and embarrassing for the entire establishment! Now for those of you who work in food service, please be assured we were not jerks. We were dressed nicely. We were polite and quiet and did not make a scene. Who knows why the server was doing such a poor job. She may have had a valid reason from the poor performance, but it wasn't obvious to us. Another quirk of of the Victorian Room is that they apparently cannot serve most drinks from their bar. They were able to provide red wine, but anything else must come from a cocktail server. We ate at the Victorian Room just twice (Prime Rib Special and Steak & Eggs Special). The first time we ate there, it took three tries to get the cocktail server to come to our table. For the breakfast described in the paragraphs above, the cocktail server never came around. Bills is a great value for travelers who are looking for a reasonably priced room right in the middle of the strip. The room was good and the food was good. You may have better luck with the service in the Victorian Room than we did. If you do, be sure to leave a nice tip!

You will be approached with offers of free meals and free shows in exchange for listening to a timeshare presentation. They tell you it's a 90 minute presentation. You will invest over 3 hours from the time your arrive to the time you leave with your free gifts. If you have 3 hours to waste, it's a good way to get a couple of free meals or tickets to a show. We did it and enjoyed the meal and show immensely. But at the end of the day, we really wish we have those 3 wasted hours instead.

Good value

Behind the glitz and bustle of the casino floor, this hotel reminded me of an older lady dressed inappropriately. As a place ... to stay it's fine, inexpensive for the location, which couldn't be more central. The rooms are pleasant (get one in the back if you want quiet), although the plumbing is a bit sluggish. We were just passing through and thought we should see Vegas once; we didn't gamble or eat in the dining room or even watch the big TV but it was fine.

Fun Place to Stay

The staff at the hotel was friendly and nice, and I am glad that we stayed where we did...right on the strip, right in the ... middle of everything. This was my first trip to Vegas, and it definitely won't be my last! I will definitely stay at Bill's again!

Good value for the money

Ronnie Aug 17, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The staff was extremely friendly and very prompt in repairing items that were broken in the room. It is in a great location ... with good "food" deals in this hotel. No compliants. If you want to spend money in gambling and food, then Bill Gamblin's Hall is a great place to stay. I didn't have an opportunity to use the pool next door but other guest I had spoken with mentioned the pool was great.

Amazing value for the money. Upgraded at no charge to a front room with a view of the Bellagio fountains. Amazingly quiet. ... Rooms were large, well lighted and very clean. Check in was quick with no line. Parking was easily available. Excellent location. Very pleased.

--huntie, Milwaukee Oct 17, 2009

If time is not critical, buy a one day bus pass for $7. They drive up and down the strip all day (and maybe all night, not sure) but make a lot of stops.

Very close to all big hotels. This was good as we went to see two shows at the Venetian (it was a 10 minutes walk).

Try out the Town Square at the Mandaly Bay end of the strip. It is all new with many nice stores, but it is the set-up that makes it unique. It is like a small center of a town with cars parking along the road and a nice park in the center, pretty neat.

--SPB., Bridgewater, Massachusetts Jun 29, 2009

Since Bill's Gamblin was so close to the other major hotels, we had a choice of cheap easy diner food at our hotel and for a nice splurge go to the other casinos for a meal. This of course was all within a a brief walking distance not to mention all the sites you get to see along the way. Some of the fancier restaurants have pre-fix menus and I highly encourage those.

Breakfast in the hotel is fine for a cheap option. DO NOT go to the restaurant next to the check in booth at Caeser's Palace, it's expensive and not worth the price.

Get the 3 day monorail pass. You are next door to the Flamingo & you can go ANYWHERE. They've changed the pricing so that the 3 day pass is a better deal & we used it at least 4 times per day.

Evrything you needed was right at your toe tips. Just a short walk to everything. Food, gambling and entertainment. You want to walk because traffic is terrible.
