Unbeatable price for the locations
Pleasure traveler Nov 2, 2009
I love the fact that parking is free. The last time we went to dinner in Chicago we paid $49.00 to park! We walked to the ... Magnificent Mile, Division St., and Old Town area for dinner and back--no cabs. The rooms are in good shape--the halls are a little shabby but all is clean. The parking attendants were very helpful.

Salpicon is a little known Mexican Restaurant with unique offerings like Rick Bayless's places but easier to get in to. 1215 N. Wells (.93 of a mile from the hotel). It was a nice walk especially after dinner!

One less worry on a trip to a new city
Dad visiting Oct 23, 2009
On a first visit to any city there is a bit of trepidation. However, the accomodations for my trip to Chicago were never an ... issue. The location was easily found as well as located nearby all the areas I needed and wanted to see in the three days I was there. With only one exception the staff was ready to offer explanations and advice with a smile that was genuine. Someone has coveyed to them that guests should be treated and spoken to as if they were a favorite uncle. A pat on the back for that.

To find your bearings it was easy once I had a "grid' established of Grant Park, Water Tower , LaSalle and Ohio ( where the hotel is found) Union Station and the River Walkway. From that core area distances could be estimated and 'other'locations gotten to with a bit of help from a previewed map. ( not wishing to be touristy and carry one out in site as you walk around).

Great weekend getaway
Bob and Jan Oct 11, 2009
Location is perfect for a walk to the pier, millinium park, willis tower and the miracle mile. The staff very pleasant, ... parking attendant was a pro, it's a comfortable feeling that your vehicle is in a safe and looked after location. Room was very comfortable, roomy, easy to get to, was steet side and it was quiet. Beds were comfortable. When we schedule a trip we will stay here.

Best Western River North Hotel
unhappy Sep 16, 2009
The room was in poor condition. There was an ash tray and matches in the room which was supposed to be non-smoking. The ... room was dirty and we would not recommend it to anyone. To sum it up, it was a dump. The only thing about it that was positive was the parking on premises. You should take this one off of your list or rate it with a half star.

booked room with 2 double beds to accomodate 4 people, arrived at hotel and that type room was not available, we were given ... a suite with 1 king bed, 1 pull out bed and 1 cot. the pull out bed and cot were very uncomfortable and on the last day the pull out bed broke. we requested a cot be brought to our room but none arrived therefore leaving one person to sleep on a broken pull out bed. not impressed. the hotel website also advertised continental breakfast which consisted only of coffee and a granola bar, again not impressed.

Best Western River North Hotel Chicago
Andrey Shcherbinin Jun 2, 2009
I opened the room that was smoke free and it smelled like a smokers paradise. I had a freezing shower in the morning. I ... waited 5 minutes with water running and it still was freezing. So it was terrible. If you can do something to reimburse me at least some of it i would appreciate it. The main dissapointment was freezing shower in the morning since i had to take a long flight right after and i didnt get to shower since it was so freezing.

Great Value!
Chicago Groupie Mar 9, 2009
We live about 60 miles outside of Chicago and try to go down at least once a year for a mini getaway. This hotel provided the ... best value we have ever found. It is not luxurious, but with parking and breakfast included, it was less than $125! Our room was big, comfortable and very clean. The staff was courteous and professional. The location is excellent, across the street from the Hard Rock Cafe, and an easy walk and/or cab ride to most attractions. This would be great for a business traveler or family.

Great Location, Great Price
Joe Dec 22, 2008
When choosing a hotel for my trip to Chicago, my main concern was staying downtown while having FREE PARKING availible at the ... hotel. Not only did I not have to pay an additional $10 - $40 a day in parking fees, as in other hotels, I was able to keep my car park and while still having great foot access to Downtown Chicago and Magnificent Mile. We walked almost everywhere for four days. Beds could have been softer, but everything was clean.

My review of Best Western River North Hotel
Lillian Jan 31, 2008
Only stayed one night before an interview. Staff was very helpful. Room was large and clean (single king sized bed). Check in ... was easy and staff was very polite. No problems with noise. Check out was fast and easy. Was easy to get a taxi since the hotel has a light outside that they turn on to let the cab drivers know that someone needs a ride. Short walk or cab ride to major attractions.
Traveler type: Business
A lot of good dining options in the area. Just ask at front desk and they will give you a map with restaurants around the area. With in walking distance to the first built Uno's.
