Just OK
Visitor Nov 17, 2009
I reserved a room with a king size bed, we got a room with two double beds. They said they couldn't get me the room I ... reserved until the next day and still I would have to come down early in the morning and make the switch myself. The room also had spiders (killed one in a washcloth next to the sink), felt very unclean. Walls are very thin, hotel mostly empty so it was okay. Continental breakfast was cereal.

Best Western Mission Bay
A Oct 26, 2009
I arrived in the hotel for my vacation in San Diego second half of October for a couple of nights. This hotel featured ... complimentary Internet service, and had one monitor along with a printer in the reception area. I was able to use the computer at will, and there was no wait time. They serve free breakfast, but I just happened to eat elsewhere. Small fridge and microwave provided. The room was clean and quiet. Very easy access to Interstate 5 and close to Interstate 8. [...] Parking is free, and there were no issues at all with that. There is no HBO. The pool is outdoors, relatively small surrounded by parking space. I was able to get a very good price through Orbitz. Less than 2 miles away from the Seaworld and miles away from downtown San Diego. Overall, I would recommend this place.

For the price I paid this is was good as it gets. Great friendly staff, rooms are clean very livable. I was actually ... staying at the Manchester Grand Hyatt for a few days before I came to the Best Western. I was expecting a really bad quality. But it was NOTHING like that. It was good, and the staff was very helpful.

Financial Bootcamp
Richard Oct 8, 2009
We came for finance training in La Jolla. This motel in north San Diego was not far away and fit our needs. It was a quiet ... place to study and relax after a long day. We did find the parking spaces a bit hard to navigate into after dark. The bathroom toilet was hard to flush, noisy and so close to the ground it was uncomfortable to use. The staff was great and recommended tips on restaurants and other needs.

We were able to check in as soon as we arrived, even though we were a bit early. This gave us much more flexibility with our ... other plans. The room seemed spacious for the very reasonable price we paid. We enjoyed our time in San Diego and plan to return as soon as we are able for another mini vacation.

Our stay in Mission Bay
Tanner's Nana May 11, 2009
Our military son came back from his third tour in Iraq. This hotel was easy access off and onto I-5, great walking distance ... to Mission Bay and a high climb up hill to some eating spots and coffee house-good exercise if you are into hill climbing-we loved it! Pretty quite, dog friendly, but the bed sheets always slipped off-they were pretty worn out along with the bed spreads. Other than this-we loved our stay and will probably stay there again in the fall. We got a great price from Orbitz on-line!! Hotel clerk was young, but very friendly and knowledgeable! We took a tour of Old Town, just a few minutes down I-5-really close, with lots of shops and eating spots! Took the Seal tour, walked the bay front, enjoyed sunny days and spectacular sunsets!!! Loved it!
Traveler type: Family
Old Town gave us plenty of dinning to choose from-most of it is Mexican food-but if you want something other than mexican food-there is a Home Town Buffet at the top of Mission Bay just east and up the hill from the hotel, along with pizza and other foods places!

My review of Best Western Mission Bay
James Jul 25, 2007
First room had roaches and ants. Moved to new room. Bedspread with holes. Sheets had stains. Room dark, poor ... lighting. Breakfast was not that great; not well stocked. Location was good with easy on and off freeway access.

Beach and Old Town are fairly close.
