Orbitz has poor, inaccurate service
rhazen Jul 19, 2009
I have just had the worst online booking experience. I booked two nights in Best Western Sedona, AZ hotel. The woman I booked ... the hotel with (Latisha) confirmed with me that the room would be on the top floor (3rd floor) with access to the public balcony and a king size bed. The room was on the first floor facing the parking lot and two queen size beds. The room was small, dark, depressing with sewer smell just outside the room. I spent extra time on the phone with her making sure that is what I received. I will never book anything through Orbitz again. Hotel staff would not help... pushed it off to Orbitz. You can do better in Sedona.

Front desk rude at Best Western
MemaBoston Jul 19, 2009
The Best Western was clean and okay for a brief stay. I was especially unhappy with the staff at the front desk who were ... rude when we arrived. They did not have 2 queens available and told us that we could have a king instead. They then proceeded to loudly discuss our booking rate and said that "oops, we didn't quality for a king". However our trip to Sedona was still amazing. Don't miss the pink jeep tours!

Sedona's beauty
Tilly May 24, 2009
Great views, big rooms, nice breakfast. There are two Best Western locations in Sedona, make sure you know which one is good ... for you. This location is at the edge of the town (which is small), but it is not walking distance to the center. The other location is in the center, so choose that one if you do not have a car. I highly recommend a car though, there are so many places to go to, otherwise you will need to take tours which will likely cost more.
Traveler type: Family
If you have a car, take Airport road up right in front of the hotel to the scenic point, there are great views. Make sure you have a red rock pass if you will make stops along the road, $5 from markets. For an easy hike, make a right on highway 89 as you leave the hotel, drive a few miles to Upper Red Rock Loop Road, take it down to the Red Rock State Park (7$ car entrance) and hike along Oak Creek (you can also swim in the summer in the red water) to the base of Cathedral Rock.

Red Rock home
SRW May 17, 2009
We enjoyed our 5 day stay at the Best Western. We traveled to the Grand Cayon, The Flagstaff, Cottenwood, and hike amoung the ... red rock in Sedona. This was our first trip to Sedona, I am sure we will return someday. I found the town of Sedona to be a sleepy town. the stores open about 9 to 10 am and close around 5 to 6 pm. We did find some great food like the Sedona bar and grill.
Traveler type: Couples
Plan some time for the many arts and craft centers, but remember most of the shops open late mourning and close early in the evening. Go hiking early while it is cooler and shop during the mid day heat.

Very nice hotel for the price
Kendal May 11, 2009
Our room was on the 2nd floor leading out to the terrace with a fabulous view. The room was nice/adequate - 2 queens and a ... good sized bath with bathtub. There were lots of pillows but they were all the same size and quite thick, which we found hard to sleep with. So, we went to Walmart in Cottonwood and bought 2 cheap pillows for our stay. Our room was next to the Agavi facility and Sat. & Sunday night there was a wedding reception that was quite noisy, but with the air conditioner running, it drowned out the noise. Otherwise, the rest of the week was quiet. The hotel staff was super nice and helpful, and the continental breakfast was very good in the dining room (cereal, toast, bagels, coffee, boiled eggs, waffles, juice, milk, fresh fruit).
Traveler type: Couples
Shugrues Restaurant at Hillside in Sedona was fantastic - food was excellent and you can watch the sun set on the patio - gorgeous. Also the hamburger place in Jerome has a fantastic spinach salad with salmon (best I've ever had)!

The Best Western Inn of Sedona is located in located in one of the most beautiful places in the United States. The view of ... the red rocks from the rooms and balconies is unbelievable. The hotel's design blends right in with the natural surroundings. The rooms are very large, clean, and very quiet. All members of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, expecially the concierge and breakfast host.

The Best Western Inn has spectacular views. It had a fairly substantial breakfast buffet with very charming and friendly ... staff. (Waffles, yogurt, toast, muffins, cereal, hard boiled eggs, fruit) There was a beautful and tranquil courtyard that we sat at every morning. The downside is there is no restaurant at the hotel. We found a great Indian restaurant and Mexican restaurant down the street. It was away from the main drag which we appreciated as it was all under construction. The downside is the beds were extremely hard. But if you like a hard bed you will be a happy camper.

Francis Apr 23, 2008
The terraces and the views they provide are non pareil. And the people at the front desk were more helpful than I've ... encountered anywhere. Never before this stay have I ever had the front desk call me in the evening of my check-in day and ask whether there was anything they could do to make my stay still more pleasant. Their advice on restaurants and their tips on avoiding traffic were very helpful. And the free shuttle to anyplace within 5 miles was a real bonus.

Great Continental Breakfast
Shelia Apr 19, 2008
This hotel was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient and centrally located. The staff was friendly and very ... helpful. The best part was the continental breakfast every morning. They had so many choices and it always started our day out right. It is so nice to be able to eat breakfast and not have to find a different restaurant for breakfast every morning. They also provieded water free of charge at the front desk. The concierge helped us plan our activities and tours. My only disappointment was not having a view from my room. We were on the bottom floor and did not have a view. The upper floors had great views and patios. Next time we will pay a little more and get a room that has a great view of the red rocks.

Uptown Sedona has lots of shopping, restaurants and art galleries. A free trolley stops at the main shopping areas such as the Tlaquepaque Mexican Village. Eating out in Sedona is expensive. We were advised by to check out the Wildflower Baking Company. Located behind the Chamber of Commerce, they have great food reasonably priced.

Prices are a bit high but you hsve to consider the fact that most items are handmade by the Navajo and others indians tribes that reside in and around Sedona. The quality is excellent. The food can be very spicy so be wary of what you order otherwise everytging is good.
