Basic comfort
Ted Oct 5, 2009
When we visited the hotel appeared to be under updating, which it needed. Appeared to be built in the 1970's. Restaurant ... was shut down, rooms were small by today's standards, TV was very poor. Kind of difficult to navigate to the hotel, but many others were in the same location. Room was clean and the staff friendly. Would stay here again, only in a pinch.

disappointed with room
Jax Girl Sep 17, 2009
Location and staff were courtesy though, initial room key didn't work so they switched me to another room in which the shower ... head leaked all over the bathroom floor everytime I used it. The bathroom light quit working, and the air conditioner was not that cold and was very noisy. With that said, the microwave and the refridgerator in the room were a nice surprise!

Clean and simple - no frills
Gulliver Sep 12, 2009
This is a bare-bones but nice business hotel. The front desk is friendly and helpful. The rooms are simply furnished and ... clean. I found the breakfast to be lacking for how complex the setup is and there are no good coffee shops within walking distance. In fact, there is nothing for a tourist within walking distance so bring or rent a car! I've stayed here several times now and have always had a pleasant visit.

Traveling Mammaw Aug 14, 2009
Hotel was not close to airport but easy to locate. Traveled from Ohio for a funeral. Reception was very personal and kind. ... Booked through 3rd. party, rating was "3". Had to call directly to change from 1 "queen" bed to 2 full to accomodate daughter and infant grandson. Staff was a little rude and added $10.00 to our bill, although his Supervisor refunded this on his own. This was definitely "average" but needed thorough cleaning and update of our room. There was an extension cord for the lamps by one of the beds and it was filthy. The bathroom countertop had not been cleaned well and the tub was not clean. Buffet breakfast included some hot food and dining room and serving area looked clean.

Dog hair
Nay Nay Jul 15, 2009
The hotel itself was very nice. Complimentary breakfast in the morning. After a couple of days I noticed my footies were full ... of dog hair. I have never had this experience before. Therefore bringing food in to the room was not a comfortable feeling, since I knew the dog hair was there. That is the only thing that made my stay uncomfortable.

Pleasantly surprised
Inexperienced traveler Jun 29, 2009
We were warmly welcomed after flight delays, and were upgraded from a single queen bed to two full size without asking for ... it. That was a good call on the part of A.J., the night desk clerk. It was difficult and confusing finding the hotel our first night. The pool was small, but it was never crowded, and was a great way to relax after a day in St. Augustine. We enjoyed the continental breakfast, especially the fresh red grapefruit sections. The hotel was extremely clean, and all staff were very pleasant and friendly. We were disappointed with the cleaning of the room the first day, but after that it was good.

Alright stay
Occasional Traveler Jun 28, 2009
The staff was friendly, but the perks ended there. The rooms are technically non-smoking, but the cigarette smell from the ... other room(s), as well as the noise of presumably their fire alarms, wafted into ours, which made for a terrible first impression. I'm sensitive to cigarette smoke, so I could feel a headache coming on. That, plus the poor circulation of our room (as well as of the elevators -- chlorine, feet, etc.) compounded the overall nasty feeling during our entire stay. The bed (and room) was clean and the selection of TV channels was nice. The continental breakfast had a decent selection for a low- to mid-valued hotel, but the quality of the food left something to be desired. I probably would not come to this hotel again due to the smells and poor ventilation.
