Cozy but roomy room
hockeymom Sep 20, 2009
We were there just to drop off our freshmen at UCSC, so our first pick of hotel was booked and required a 2 night stay. This ... hotel was fine with a one night stay and was very reasonably priced. It's not really close to the university, but is close enough to the freeway and close to downtown. I was impressed with how friendly the staff was and the cleanliness and roominess of our room. Very nice decor too! I didn't check out the pool or restaurant. I'll keep it on my list of choices for when I visit my student!

We had been told to eat at "Harry's", the number 3 bus right outside the property took us right there. It's a local legend. ... The next morning we had signed up for a wine tour by jeep, that included off roading. The jeep picked us up right at the hotel. We ate breakfast at the motel's cafe before leaving, very convenient and prompt service. Comfortable beds, good water pressure in the shower. When checked my reservation on Thursday the motel did not have my reservation. They had to call Orbitz and get back to me. My credit card had already had a hold so wasn't too worried, but wasn't very happy either.

Room was clean, though decor was dated to the 1970's. We had a 1BR + living room with a huge sectional+kitchen+eating area. ... Felt more like a small apartment than a hotel room. Very comfy for the price for a getaway weekend. Hotel close to downtown and only a few minutes from the beach. Charming property. Would stay here again.

My boyfriend and I picked this hotel because of how close it was to state street downtown area, for a cab it was under 10 ... bucks and the walk is about 20 mintues, not bad at all. This was a cute hotel in a residential area, very friendly staff, I wouldnt go for the pool it wasnt very tempting. Great deal for the price though.

Only there for the night after local business meetings. Room OK, but nothing special, very basic like a Motel 6. Nothing ... special was offered - no continental breakfast items, no arrival snack, etc. Poor value for the more than $150 per night price tag. Nothing within walking distance except for Cottage Hospital - convienient I guess if you are visiting patients, but for any other purposes this hotel is very lackluster.

Nice Hotel
Stacey Jul 12, 2009
We were able to check in early which made my day after a long drive. The hotel was very nice and really clean. Our room had ... beautiful bedding and comfortable beds and pillows. They even had apples for us in the room as well as a DVD player which was a plus with kids. The air conditioning was forced air so it did not keep us up at night when it would turn on in the middle of the night. The pool was a little too warm for me but my kids had a great time swimming. The birdhouse was nice to see...my kids enjoyed watching them.

Very Cute Hotel. Close to the shops. Very Family oriented. Beautiful Bird house next to the pool. We did encounter a few ... issues, but they didn't ruin our trip. Late night parking is horrible! Our Only problems were that the bed was not a queen, but we made it work. It was a full. Only one robe. Shower door didn't close properly so water was everywhere in the bathroom. And a real bummer was NO continental breakfast. Also And around 2:30 in the morning drunk 20- somethings were yelling and running out side our door. Other than that it was very nice. Some perks were that the room had a mini fridge. Fantastic pillows. Apples, yummy tea. and a beautiful pool. The location is quite close to state street. One could ride their bike there.

Santa Barbra is a tourist town. They have very trendy shops, which are very pricey. Not too many fantastic deals. Parking is also an issue. Park far, and take the .25 cent tour bus. It takes you all down State Street and to the Wharf. Lots of Wineries. Very nice one is on the Wharf. Live Jazz music on weekends.
