Good location, but problems with the roo

The room was not very clean. We had a major leak from the ceiling and had to use a trash can to catch some of the water. ... Reported it to the hotel but was not fixed while we were there. We ended up checking out a day early and did not get a refund for that day. Would not stay in this hotel again. It is badly in need of repairs.

Older Motel on the edge of the city downtown area. Reasonable distance to shopping and recreation, probably a cab. Hotel ... needs a renovation. While we were there a ceiling leak developed in the hotel corridor. However, the room and the bedding were clean. The breakfast in the dining area was served buffet style. Eggs and bacon were pretty dryed out at 9:00 AM. Overall, my rating is just so-so.

The Best Western Center City Hotel/Philadelphia has friendly staff, a fairly convenient location, and possibly the worst HVAC ... system and beds I have experienced. Since it was sweltering on arrival, I anticipated the HVAC system would take a while to cool the room and went off to take care of business. When I returned late in the evening, the room was cool enough, but the system continued to drone on all night long making an obnoxious noise. The beds were miserably uncomfortable with cheap mattresses and flat, uncomfortable pillows. I thought about asking to switch rooms around midnight, but wondered if anything better was available since a co-worker complained earlier that he had tried to nap in his room and found the emattress to be quite uncomfortable. In the end, I managed to sleep for about an hour. When I went to check out, I found the staff to be incredible accomodating and pleasant. I found it impossible to blame them for a facility that needs a complete overhaul.
