Best Western Bandana Square

While the location was great and the building itself held a lot of interest the quality of the actual room left a lot to be ... desired. Because I was traveling specifically for a wedding I called ahead to change my room specifications. I specifically asked NOT to be assigned a certian room and when I checked in found I had been placed in the room I had specifically asked not to be in. The room was incredibly hot and had a foul odor. The floor heater was on high and the fridge had been left unplugged creating the heat and the foul odor. The front desk was nice to give us a fan, but it took a good couple of hours for the room to cool down as no windows to the outside. The heater also kept kicking on and off thruout the weekend and my last night the fridge quit working spoiling all the food from the day before. The closet doors were off the track so they were unusable. The metal lock on the door was also broken in such a way that I found my door proped open by the broken lock a couple of time during my stay. The door did have a deadbolt that was installed, but this did not fix the lock above that was causing the door to stay ajar. Overall the staff was very helpful, but it was disappointing to find a room with so many things wrong with it. I am thankful in the end that I had this room as it was originally suppose to be reserved for the parents of the Bride and I am sure they would have found these issues much more frustrating than I did.

We were looking for a hotel close to St. Paul, but quiet and off the main stream, what a find. The staff was excellent and ... truly cared for our needs. I am extemely pleased and will recommend this hotel to anyone.

Best Western Bandana Square is inside an old train station mall. The air conditioning was broken in some rooms. Ours was ... working. The hotel allows pets and has a nice free breakfast buffet. Lots of fruit an donuts and cereal.

The location is why I chose this Motel because I had a 2 day training at the local St. Paul law school so I basically just ... needed a place to sleep. I did not eat, swim, or otherwise use their facilities. I did walk for 45 minutes outside and I did feel safe during the early evening walk. I thought they might have been short on staff in the middle of my stay and at check out plus I thought the staff should have not been so brusque. That really is my only complaint about the motel. Free parking across the street.

Finally I found a hotel that's was actually quiet. If you travel a lot you know what I mean, too many of the hotels have ... very loud locking doors. The internet access was also fast! I'll stay here again.
