not fully disabled accessible
wheelchair traveler Nov 11, 2009
i chose this hotel because it was close to the airport for an overnight between flight stay. also because it had a free ... shuttle and early morning shuttle van availability (before 5:00 am). however, it also said on the website it was wheelchair accessible, and while it DID have a flat no step entry into the room, there were NO actual adapted wheelchair accessible rooms. no roll in showers, ADA toilets, hand held shower heads, lowered light switches, etc. also, the shuttle is a small van and was NOT wheelchair friendly... when i asked the clerk by phone to send the shuttle to get us at the airport, and would it take a wheelchair she said no. after more clarification, i determined it would work if i took my scooter apart, so said send it. she decided i must be wrong and after waiting 45 minutes, i called again to find out she hadn't sent it, thinking it wouldn't accomadate my scooter.(how did she think i'd know that or get to the hotel?) i insisted, and so got there eventually, but had to wait at the airport way too long, and then arrived to find they had no actual ADA room. i thought that was illegal?? but , they were nice overall, and did try to help.. to some degree.

Traveler Oct 25, 2009
The hotel was Ramada inn Airport in Charlotte (and not Best Western). Not a very good experience. Room not very clean, lot of ... light coming in the thru the windows at night and the worst was the restaurant they have where we tried breakfast. Pancakes and hash browns were not good and overall didnt seem like a professional place. They did not have butter knives, had to use a spoon and fork to eat the pancakes.

RAMADA INN NORTH-WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!
texastraveler Oct 15, 2009
We were on our way back from getting married and had to stay overnight in Charlotte. We chose the Ramada because it was close ... to the airport. After sitting in bed for about an hour, my husband smacks a bug on his arm. He dismisses it as "just a random bug". Then he smacks his arm again. He starts looking at the bed and sees BUGS. LIttle ones at first. He jumps up to get the video camera to document this. As we start to pull back the sheets we see BED BUGS of all sizes. We have about 30 of them on video. We call the front desk THREE TIMES before they come to our room. This all occured at 11pm. We demand our money back and also demand that they take us to another hotel and pay for our room. After 30 minutes of arguing, where at first they say they will NOT pay for another room. They finally take us to the La Quinta that is near. The La Quinta is REALLY NICE near the airport and very affordable. It was BY FAR the worst experience ever. I will be calling Ramada home office and sending them the video.

John Sep 15, 2009
While we appreciated the convenience of the hotel to the airport, the room was very ordinary. We had to "unlock" the ... television by identifying what type of TV we had and then punching in a code. What's up with that? How you can have a room with two double beds and only have one (count em) one towel is kinda dumb. We did get extra towels from a friendly front desk clerk, but shouldn't have had to do that.
Traveler type: Family
Always insure that the rooms have been checked for towels and other amenities (shampoo, tissue, etc) and insure that appliances are working and accessible to the guests.

Lindy Aug 23, 2009
Ok, we were looking for something just to get in and out of Charlotte. This fit the bill. It was clean. The grounds are ... well kept. Everything worked as it was supposed to. It was NOT luxurious. It reminded me of a 1970s hotel room. Remember the old 2 story hotels centered around the pool? That's exactly what this is. It needs some upgrades but with that said...it was fine for an overnight. Would I want to spend my vacation there...no, I don't think so. I found it difficult to get there from the airport - but I am unfamiliar with the Charlotte area. However, it was easy to get back to the airport. There is a Shoney's next door for an easily accessible place to grab a quick bite.\\
Traveler type: Couples
If you are going to rent a car -= save some money and stay the night, take the shuttle back to the airport and pick up the car when you actually need it. It's easy to get on the interstate from the airport. If flying back out of Charlotte, return the car the night before and take the shuttle back to the airport. Save yourself some hassle factor.

No Sleep for me. Aug 10, 2009
Overnight stay to catch early flight. The room was dirty, floors not vaccumed, bath room was filthy. There were bed bugs and ... roaches crawling around in the bed. I sat in a chair to sleep. The room need a total maker-over and up-dated to 2009 standards. It was awful. Broken fossit on the sink.
