We got handed a Toliet Plunger!!
Nonnie Oct 15, 2009
Our toilet over flowed the 1st morning - we used all our clean bath towels to clean it up! I went down to the front desk to ... report it and was HANDED A PLUNGER!!!!!!!!! and some old towels! The front desk clerk stated he was the only one there/he could call a maint. man but if we could try the plunger ourselves first? I took the plunger/towels back upstairs to my husband who busted out laughing.......... We'd never, ever been asked to do our own maint. while staying at at any motel/hotel before in our lives. Yes, we did eventually get our toliet in working order again, returned the plunger, and dirty towels we'd cleaned up the floor with - received new towels so we could now shower. Upon check-out I asked if they could deduct anything from our 2-night stay to compensate for being our own maint. man /and they did not have to call anyone in? The female clerks reply was: No, people come down and ask for the plunger ALL the time to fix their own Toilets!! (You have got be kidding right? No, they put too much paper in the toilet and they know it's their fault, etc., etc.) If you are into mopping up the bathroom floor, playing with Plumbing Problems/or used to asking for a plunger during your a hotel stay then this is the place for you - then - I highly recommend it!

While the room was satisfactory, the front desk clerk was not very friendly or knowledgeable. He didn't ask us any questions ... about the room that we wanted and gave us a streetside room. My husband had to go back down and request a room on the opposite side of hotel and they were not busy nor filled up. He did not mention anything about their breakfast nor the hours. When we got to the room and tried to light a fire, the wood was too wet to burn and smoke came into the room even with the damper open. This room only came with 2 pieces of wood also. The room was clean and the bed was hard but OK. Towels were small and rather thin. Shower was great with the shower head being a massager also. For the price is was acceptable but don't expect good service.

Pinetop-Lakeside is just a great place to visit if you like to ski, fish, shop little antique stores. Just fun relaxation. There is an atmosphere of small town but with most anything you need available. There is no nightlife unless you go to the casino about 3 miles south of town. They have a small bar area with fun entertainment and dancing.

Room was clean and reasonably quiet. Price significantly lower than others in area. A/C couldn't cool whole room, just area ... around itself. "Expanded continental breakfast" seemed to be standard fare for 2 star hotels.

Surprise stay
NM family Jun 8, 2009
The hotel was close to our destination in WhiteRiver, AZ. I was surprised how nice the rooms were and large. The breakfast ... was good. The only downfall was there wasn't a pool. I thought there was, but it was a jacuzzi. We did enjoy it during our stay.

Just a great place for the price. Extremly clean. Bed spreads clean, carpet clean as well as rest of room, spa(jacuzzi) ... well maintained. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. Very relaxed. The only bad thing I would mention is on the website the impression is given that you could sit in an area at ramada type tables and cook out or relax. This is not the case. There is a sitting area outside provided for smokers or just sitting at tables to relax and read. It is located between two of the buildings.

Steffanie Feb 23, 2008
room size was adequate, though conterspace was tight for 3 people. Check in was efficient however, staff didnot give any info ... re: continental breakfast, pool, spa -didn;t realize they were available til check out! Ice machine not available. There were no security doors to outside and a couple of the steps from second floor to parking lot were cracked & broken. Location to ski area was decent.
